I found this place by coincidence, and could not resist to enter, and did not regret it at all! Great ambiance, especially for fans of books ans bookstores. Great collection of books. Strategically placed in the city center of Amsterdam, in one of the shopping streets. Recommended to visit this book store!

Large well-stocked English bookshop plus magazines and some food as well. Four floors of books. Good selection, good staff.

It was the third bookshop I had tried for the book I wanted: in the other two they had looked it up on the computer and told me they didn't have it. In Waterstones without looking it up, he said "Yes, there's a copy on the third floor". That's my sort of bookshop.

Shop is okay as long as there's no other people on the staircase, no room for that.. There also works a very arrogant British man who thinks he's better than others. Almost every time when I visit the shop he needs to be were I am and then is pretty rude... He pushes people away without asking. Expensive books because they use the GBP to Euro currency rate.. They do have a huge assortment of nice books!

Hidden in the chaos of the Kalverstraat this book paradise. One can spend hours enjoying literature. Reading the small personal handwritten advice notes on the shelves. And listen to the carillon playing it song a few shops away.

I love this store, it always has a great selection of books and book-related presents. Unfortunately it's quite pricey and I would like to have a bigger selection of classical literature, however Waterstones is one of my favourite places to explore.
