Love this place have good food and nice place will come back again
The food was great but the service wasn't too good or maybe it was just our server
Last night I had a cup of cream of crab soup with an entree of crab stuffed portabella mushrooms, mac-n-cheese & broccoli. As always Timbuktu uses large lump crab that is totally DELICIOUS.
This has the best broiled crab cakes on the East Coast. I love the take out section, I talk to the workers and they make the food so much better with their smiles and amazing attitudes. Great food, great service. I buy crab cakes daily and always when I come through Maryland in my travels.
The worst ever...after visiting this place for the first time last night, because of the hype of such great crab cakes and the other menu items I have been told about..it was the most disgusting cold food ever..my crab cake had this nasty creamy stuff gushing out the middle my mother ordered the maryland crab soup which tasted like vegetable soup...no flavor.. my husband got a lobster that was like rubber..and my Mom ordered got tea and got a dirty cup with a tea bag...the waitress was rude and ghetto..she stood behind the waitress counter talking the entire time our food was in the cooks window so all our food was cold..when we told her it was cold she offered to put it in the microwave..the baked potatoe was old and burnt....don't waists your time or money..it's bad really
Great food and atmosphere
I will be there in the future
Food was good service was good interior of the place needs an overhaul. All chopped up inside and aged. Got up from my table in the back to go to the bathroom and could hardly find my way back! LOL
Food was delicious and service was great. We were on the dining side and got caught up in conversation after we ate. We weren't rushed to leave, but allowed to continue. Our waiter, Charlie, was very nice and attentive.
My husband and I love it here. Crab dip and seafood pasta are good. Drinks are strong and delicious. Laid back atmosphere.
So so food and typical unprofessional service for a local low brow chain wannabe...
Giant crab cakes! I asked if I could take some home to Utah. They had them packed up in a TSA approved cooler with ice packs for me. Great service!
Ordered the chicken cord en bleu and it was delicious! The chicken was perfectly tender and the sauce that went on the chicken was delicious as well! Would give this a 10/10
The atmosphere was great. The seating was a bit tight. I ordered the infamous crabcakes; however, there were more filling than I remembered from my last visit. I will try the flounder the next go around.
The atmosphere was good but unfortunately most of the food on my plate was less than par. The crab cake and scallops were good but the fish was bland. I was really disappointed in the lobster. It was dry, overcooked, and also bland. And for some reason every bite had sand in it. I never experienced that with lobster before. Being an out-of-towner I expected a lot more. Oh well.
I went to dinner with my family and it was great. The quality of food I just like I had expected fresh with a great flavor. The only thing that hadn't matched other experienced with hibachi was the chef was not as talkative or entertaining.
I wish I had taken photos when I ate here. From the reviews I can tell this place used to be good. But my experience wasn't so good. The service was nice, no problems there. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, it was blue cheese dressing, a chicken strip, and some iceberg lettuce, wrapped in a sad green tortilla, not impressed. I was eating with my parents and my dad ordered the crab cakes and for the price we could have made something better at home. Tasted like it had been frozen for some time. Then, there was the bathroom. There were many spots where the tile had crumbled away, even leaving a gaping hole in one of the stalls. The plumbing was very old and in bad repair, I don't judge a food place on their toilets, but it makes me wonder, if they don't patch up their walls or fix their toilets how does the kitchen look? The whole place really needs a face lift. Big time.
The food is great! However prices have gone up significantly. They are horrible with reservations and accommodating large groups. I have been to this place 2x and we have decided to never return. Our first encounter a hostess was fired due to using profanity. Second time...we were on time for our reservation, seated 30 min after, and had to wait an hour for food.
My son had prime rib for his supper and he said it was absolutely delicious I had crab imperial and it was absolutely delicious this time it is a good place to eat I highly recommend tinbuktu check them out
under-seasoned, under-cooked. 2 stars for decor and presentation though.
Bar scene isn't very lively but they do have all day happy hour on Sundays and the bartenders, while far from the best in the city, are very friendly and pour generously. For appetizers we ordered calamari and buffalo wing. The wings were just okay but the calamari was really good. It was lightly battered, well seasoned and fresh. Not chewy at all. We got the platter for 4 as our entree, eventhough there were only 2 of us. It came with shrimp, mini crab cakes, beef tips, scallops, and ribs. Too much food for 2 but perfect for a group of 3 and not really enough for a group of 4, unless your friends eat like birds. It was delicious but the beef tips needed a bit more seasoning. Good dinning experience over all. I do wish they would remodel the place though. They bar area is pretty modern but the dinning area decor is outdated. Plenty of free parking. This place has really gone downhill. The bun for my crab cake was stale, I had to ask the waiter 4 times for my sweet tea, a toilet was out of order, and there was no tissue. I'll be visiting G&M very soon for a much better experience.
Always a good choice for good food and comfortable seating
This place is hit or miss. We've had very good dining experience but its pricey.
Waited over an hour to get our food and it was cold when it came. Flounder had a sour taste and had to be sent back.
All the lobster I can eat! Very good seafood and the oyster is so fresh and too service
Extremely long wait for food to be served, only to have cold Ribs. One order never received sides to meal. Waiter was very apologetic that he forgot. He insisted on my friend taking a piece of cake, although she repeatedly stated no. Waiter then brings out 2 pieces of cake, of which she said no thank you. Waiter then have other options of a dessert. We were all just mystified. My husband spoke to a manager, and asked for them to take the price off the side order off her bill. Manager said he couldn't do that. "It's not alacarte here. We can give you a piece of cake". (What is it with the cake?!?!?) They finally took $3.00 off her bill. It would have been easier to just not bring it up. Poor service, cold Ribs....but delicious crab cakes!
Great service wait time was Not long..cant wait to go back!!!!
I had the crab cake sandwich and it was amazing. Atmosphere was great and so was the service. Don't sell ur self short, go and enjoy the crab cakes.
I drive an hour and a half faithfully, just for the crab cakes. The best ever
Maryland seafood to died for! Love the crab imperial ! Great staff
Worst food ever!! ...our order was the crab cake, salmon, steak, and seafood Diablo...one w/rice and one w/pasta.... steak was over cooked, pasta was mushy(over cooked) rice was extremely soggy from the sauce... the sauce was watery and bland.. Ragu sauce would ve done the plate more justice... service was extremely ssslllooowwww....they re margarita went down rough... paid bill of $244 and no one ate nothing... all of it left on the plate
Nice draft brews, above average pub food and within walking distance of state park. Worth the drive.
I got the two 1/2 pound crab cake with 2 sides meal ($41!). The crab cakes were very good and the potato salad was surprisingly tangy (very nice). I know this is a ton of crab meat, but I struggled to think it was worth the price. Overall the staff was friendly and attentive and the food was good.
The food was ok. The setting was comfy for our meeting. Service was good.
Pricey....but I would say well worth it for the food quality and portions.
Used to be good. Crabcakes were small, dry and overcooked. Been going there for 20 years until now.
Big restaurant outside Baltimore, we went there during our road trip to Washington. You have to go there only for the restaurant itself. Unless his isolated position lot of people know this spot! They have a various menu list with obviously a variety of crab dishes. Crab soups are very tasteful and abundant. Their famous and the reason-why-to-go dish, the crab cake, is pretty good and served with good sides as well. It is local and friendly spot where to stop and have dinner. Check is proper.
The food was pretty decent. There were a good amount of options to choose from. Our waiter was very nice and made sure that we received prompt service.
The crab cakes are delish! Anything else I've had was the opposite of delish. I only get Crab Cake sandwiches to go now.
My first visit today and I enjoyed the fast and friendly service. My friends love the place, the crab cake had plenty of crab but lacked a little seasoning and texture.
They were good though and together with Cesar salad and asparagus side it made for a good value meal. At the end of the day I ate it all.
Ps: others order steak, chicken cordon blue and mussels and they all look massive and delicious
Don t bother with online order. Staff is very unorganized. Waited 45 minutes past the pick up time. Order is wrong and incomplete. Pizza has no flavor. Sandwich is blah. This place has gone bad
Great food and great service! Don't miss out on their crab cakes!
Great atmosphere for family and friends. NEVER ever had a bad meal . Food is second to none.
Good was great and the quality and quantity was on point. Eill return with friends and family.
Great food, casual dining. Moderate service, could have been a little more attentive.
Service could have been better. Our drinks were not refilled regularly and you must ask the servers to do so.
Food came fast but the bread rolls should have came out before or during the soup serve.
Allow a big table to split the bill individually.
Hostess seems irritated when we arrive earlier than our reservation time.
Food is delicious. A bit on the pricey side but an overall good experience.
Seafood is very good, sides weren't as good. Although prices are moderate, portions are largev so you feel like you're getting your money's worth.
This is my favorite restaurant for the Imperial crab cake!
Good crabcakes. This spot is close to BWI. Great place to stop over before or after flights in or out of the airport.
Very good food. I tried the lamb chops (rare) with crab cake. My meal was perfectly cooked and delicious. Plenty of good options on the wine list and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. This would not be a discount restaurant, but you do get what you pay for and it's worth it.
It's still not the old school Timbuktu but it wasn't as bad as it was before it feel off.
Absolutely amazing crab cakes!!! You must get them!!
The food was flavorful and cooked to perfection and service was outstanding.
The experience was exceptional especially with the company of my beautiful wife!
good food, pleasant staff and Monday night dual lobster special is great ...
A local favorite, known for their crab cakes. More of an older crowd.
We took our out of town family here for dinner last month, and were very disappointed. What happened to this place? The prices are unreasonable for the quality of food being served. The server was good, the restaurant was empty and we all understood why. Will not be returning, it is unfortunate.
My wife loves the crab cakes here! Anytime we make the drive to BWI she wants to stop and eat here. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very courteous.
Over rated over rated over rated. I got crab soup from here. It was terrible. I also got a meatball sub that barely had any meatballs or sauce. I decided to give them another try and order the shrimp salad sandwich. Worst shrimp salad ever. I went to the takeout section. The girl upfront was pretty friendly so I'll give 3 stars.
Best crab cakes I've ever had. Everything was excellent even the service. I recommend either of the platters.
The food would have been wonderful if it had been warm??? 2017 do they sell commercial food warmers....I had to wait for cold mashed potatoes??? My crabcake was luke warm also????
Food could have been better and the utensils and water pitcher were dirty
Love the remodel service was phenomenal restrooms very clean but the food is not as good as it used to be when the previous owners owned it, Crabcakes had to much filler and themand not as big as I remember and it a bit costly, so all in all its a 31/2 stars
Outdated and poor quality. Bad service and dirty. Sad because locals told us it used to be great. Decor appears as if it was top of the line in the 80's.
