These people are amazing. More friendly than the Oregon Humane Society and so efficient! Seriously the difference was night and day. The animal handlers are not overly opinionated or snobby like some other places. The staff and volunteers have people skills that match their animal skills. They are supportive of families trying to connect with animals and all about doing good work. Way to go guys!

I won't support a shelter who cares more about making a dollar off a quick adoption than to reunite a first responding fire fighter with his dog. You people disgust me and all potential adopters should know how you do business

Went out there today for tea as the Website says they are open Tuesday's from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Well the sign on the door says there closed on Tuesdays. They need to update there website to really reflect what days they are open.

The staff is kind, helpful, and clearly focused on helping animals. We go there often to look for our missing dog. Although it's been a long time, they encourage us to keep trying and I get the sense that they're all looking for our furbaby too. Considering the huge number of animals that go through this facility I think that they do an amazing job. All our pets are rescues, either animals people have dumped, or adopted from Southwest Washington Humane Society.

My dog was picked up on our street after we had just traveled from San Diego. I called to see if my dog was at the humane society. As soon as the receptionist picked up the phone she knew who I was and who my dog was because she had just scanned his microchip. He hadn't even been checked in yet. I rushed down to pick him up and was charged $100. Also they made me license him in Washington even though I explained that we were just visiting. The lady stated since I had a Washington I.D. I had too. I was not impressed and I let her know I would be writing a review on the experience and she rolled her eyes. I don't think loving owners should be punished and forced to pay outrageous fees.

I've been involved with 3 different adoptions here. Amazing facility and staff! Totally worth a 2 hour drive from Olympia to find your new furever friend. And if you're close by, a great place to visit and volunteer, too!
Thank you for my wonderful fur babies and friends-Tanuki Alexander, Luna, Ella, and Winston Toby.

I honestly don't understand why this place doesn't have a better rating. They have always been courteous and helpful to me. Whenever I didn't have $ to by petfood, they gave me large bags of quality food. They were especially sweet to me the time I had to take in my 16-year-old dog to be put to sleep. The only reason I can think of for the big turnover in employees is low pay/high stress.

I attempted to call a few times to ask them to help a family of kittens and Momma.
They were left here, an apartment complex by a renter who moved and left Momma cat here. She had kittens. I attempted to contact human society a number of time, left messages and they never responded it took care of the sad situation.
Most likely, these animals were euthanized.
Not impressed at all...

Great place to meet and adopt animals! We got to visit with and adopt a very cute black kitty named Snicklefritz. Both front desk and staff very friendly and helpful. They provided lots of good information for us post-adoption. Will definitely return in the future to adopt pets.

This Humane Society is great! The wait was kinda long in adopting a new kitten, but I can't complain about the volunteers. It was a busy day which is great, because there are a lot of animals needing homes. Kittens were half off and any Cat over 3 was a $10 adoption fee!

I got my cat here a few months ago. But when I went there to look at dogs they were a mess. Sure the staff are nice but the animals I saw all were covered in pee and poop and their rooms were disgusting. None of the staff in the dog area were around or even cared but there were plenty of staff in the cat area. I suggest saving those animals and then getting the heck out of there.

The aesthetics and the staff are outstanding. I would give 5 stars if 1) they'd put animals on sale before euthanizing and 2) give pet owners more than 3 days to claim their pet, before you offer them for adoption. I love that they help pets in need of food and sometimes treats and cat litter. Usually a friendly staff.

To be honest I'm writing a bad review mostly because these people really don't care about the animal as much as they care about getting their fees taken care of. I understand the legality of it, I get where they're coming from, but the fact that they would rather hold a scared little puppy in a cage for days on end because I couldn't afford to pay over 150$ to get her back... just seems twisted. I really thought the humane society was this super good thing and like... now I got the adult experience from them and I realize what they do. They take your pets and if you can't afford to get them back then they sell them to someone else. It's gross.

This is a very nice facility. The animals have nice living areas and the staff members seem happy to be there.

My mother recently adopted a cat and the experience was good. Unfortunately, the cat became very ill within days of the adoption. However, all of the vet bills were covered by the humane society. This was very impressive, as they were quite a high dollar amount.

This is a good play to take the family to adopt a new pet. They have a cat section and a dog section.

New building, faulty design. Dog kennels too small and not cleaned often enough - smelly. Dogs stressed and barking. No windows back there. Take a hint from the Oregon Humane Society - their kennels are spotless, have lots of windows, light, plants, soothing classical music. Dogs are quiet, relaxed, calmly napping.

Went to see a few specific dogs. Website doesn't indicate which kennel they are in. Wandered around, only found one of them, even though their pictures were still on the website. Nobody greeted me or offered to help.

Great overall adoption experience for our new bunny. The society provided a great information packet I found very informative, that even as an experienced owner, I still learned new things. Thank you!

I adopted my dog about 6 years ago and have been in love with her since. I haven't been in their facility for some time now but from what I remember it was a clean and friendly environment. The reason I am giving 4 stars is that my dog was spayed at a very young age, which according to 2 veterinarians, is what has caused my dogs incontinence for the last 6 years. I recently had to sell my house and move into a rental, this breaks my heart, she now has to live outside to avoid her leaking every time she lays down. Doggie diapers are not economical for me and I refuse to feed her Proin as many dogs have suffered death because of it.

To anyone looking to adopt a puppy, take a second to think about this.

We originally went to meet a different dog but it was already being adopted. But then my husband saw Zoie and fell in love so she has been added to our family. Thank you to the friendly staff for making it a great experience.

I used to think the prices the Humane Society charged for pets was insane. Why pay that much for a car when you can just adopt a stray or find someone who s cat is having kittens? Then we adopted a stray.

After all of the shots, vet bills, parasite treatments, microchiping, and neutering, I now know the Humane Society offers a bargain when it is time for a new pet.
