Beautifully renovated restaurant with one of the best patios in town. The food is stellar Everytime. Inventive but approachable menu items. They always have some great bar specials like a burger and beer for $10, which I think makes it approachable if you're looking for a more "low key" kind of night.

This is actually now called Ward 426. Really good food and excellent service. A good selection of spirits to choose from.... we tried a good bourbon sampler flight.
Our dinner at Ward 426 was phenomenal. I enjoyed every single item that was placed in front of me. The service matched the food. The serve a delicious prosecco. The one menu item that I have to point out is the "Pate of the South"...it was amazing. It was such a value at only $7, it was delicious and you are served a very nice size portion. I was happy to find many menu items, as we are prefer seafood and vegetarian options. I can't wait to return to the restaurant.
My wife and a friend and I went for a nice meal to Ward 426. The server was rude and we didn't even make it to the ordering portion of the meal. We walked out in protest.
There are PLENTY of good places to eat in Louisville that have friendly staff. We'll go there.
Ward 426 is by far a favorite for my wife and I . Louisville legendary chef, Sean Ward has done wonders for the great "Jack Fry's" restaurant BUT having his own place now shows how well he does not only running a kitchen, but Helping to create amazing dishes.
Outstanding meal at a higher-end hidden gem. Manager and waiter were very friendly and gave great recommendations as to where we should spend our time while in town.
One star at every level. They have a lax hostess system (regulars walk in ahead of reservations), the filet was blue/raw/cold and lack of appropriate service staff resulted in hours between courses
Delicious food and beautifully presented. I appreciate the fresh and local ingredients. Great service too. Ward 426 really cares that we have a wonderful experience!
I recently dined here with a large party. My service was great, though I really didn't need or require much. A member of my party waited 30 minutes for a glass of water to be brought. The food had great potential but fell short of my expectations. I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad (beets, pistachio, goat cheese, arugala, vinaigrette). It was missing the goat cheese and vinaigrette). I also had the Alaskan Cod. That was delicious but the sides (heirloom rice and sauteed spinach) were pretty forgettable and bland.
My experience was awful. I was in Louisville the week of the Kentucky Derby and had dinner with a friend. I had swordfish and 2 hours after diner I went to the ER for food poisioning and had to stay the evening for evaluation and hydration. Moreover, missed my flight and stayed in a hotel for 2 more days. Once I got home to Florida I called and spoke to the General Manager Niresh and told him what happened to give them and chance to make it right. He said they would take care of the medical bill once I got it from the Hospital. Funny thing, he never mentioned reimbursing me for the dinner, but I let it slide. I got my $2500.00 bill from the hospital, I paid from my own pocket. I sent the bill for reimbursement and Niresh gave me a run around for months. He finally sent it to the insurance company and they reneged because the ER did not write food poisoning. I was so sick I never checked their paperwork. I am going to check the intake paperwork what it says. The facted Niresh never kept his word even though I kept my word and I was being understanding.
Love this spot. The Brussels sprouts are a must. For lunch, give the pot roast sliders a try. They are divine! Other lunch favs are the lobster tacos and the shrimp and grits. Great, friendly service.
All I can say is WOW. Me and my wife came for dinner last night And the service, ambience, and the food was amazing. The place is tucked in on the corner of Baxter in the old Blue martini building and is beautiful inside. We loved the industrial lighting and rich wood through out. Every employee we encountered was warm and happy. We even got a suprise visit by the chef at our table that made the experience a WOW for us for sure! (When does that happen ever hahahah) We will be back.
We chose this restaurant quite at random, and I m so pleased we did. We don t eat out often, but when we do, we prefer to choose high quality restaurants with a menu full of interesting options we weren t disappointed. I chose to start with the Amelia Earhart cocktail, which seems to be a fun twist on the traditional aviation cocktail. It was the perfect choice for a hot summer day. My husband said his calamari appetizer was perfection, and my pate of the south was delicious. The only alteration I would recommend is serving it with one or two more pieces of the crispy lavash. The presentation on our salads was lovely, especially my Farmer Salad. It was almost deconstructed, in a way. At first I was a bit confused by the inclusion of smoked paprika, but it really does compliment the dish well, especially the farro, quinoa, and bulgar mixture. Truly a unique and delicious salad. Our entrees were wonderful as well. I can t say enough good things about the Ricotta Cannelloni. The sauce was simply one of the best tomato sauces I ve ever had, the ricotta was perfectly creamy, and the cannelloni was delicate and light, rather than heavy. With so many unique restaurants in Louisville to choose from, we only go back to the establishments that have successfully combined attentive, friendly service with a fantastic, well-executed menu Ward 426 definitely fits the bill. We will most certainly be back.
My wife and I are here at least once a week. The filet is tender and super juicy. The burger is worth the trip alone. The service is by far the best. Ask for Christine at the bar. She makes the best dirty martini and boulevardier!
Amazing menu and beautiful atmosphere. Best outdoor seating in Louisville! Chef Ward is incredibly talented and always accomodating to our spicy vegetarian requests.
Try the Curry Chicken Salad, & Vegetable Soup made with the Chef's own vegetables, his neighbor's vegetables, local vegetables, etc. Amazing food & friendly staff! One of Louisville's best kept secrets!
Delicious all the way. Appetizers were rich in taste and beautifully served; bourbon drinks perfectly balanced and very cooling in the humid weather; main course was five-star southern cousine.
Atmosphere and venue really set the mood from the start. Very impressed!
Celebrated a Birthday. It was awesome!! Lobster Campennelli was crazy good. Chef stopped by and did a special for us. Service was spot on! Be back soon.
Did a five-course wine tasting dinner. It was excellent with upscale contemporary Cuisine from a talented chef. Would have given it 5 stars but my meat entree was sub par. Everything else exceptional!
Outstanding in every way. From the simplicity of the menu, to the wonderful and wondrous service, to the ambience of the decor, and to the food. I really enjoyed my 1st visit to WARD 426 and plan to return again soon.
Started with one of their specialty cocktails - The Dark & Stormier. Rum and ginger beer with a ginger flavored ice ball. Then the S.O.D. - soup of the day. This was a thick beef soup - mostly beef. So good. Then onto shrimp & grits with Weisenberger Mill grits. Possibly the best shrimp & grits I ve ever had. ( I judge a Southern inspired restaurant by it shrimp & grits just like I judge a Mexican restaurant by it chorizo and eggs. These are simple things but sometimes so hard to do. )
Service by Brandon was impeccable. It s so rare in Louisville to enjoy servers who take such pride in their work and know how to do it correctly. I had my eye on the other servers and they were doing the job too!
My only suggestion to do better would be to keep social media up-to-date. Facebook has the February specials listed under Menu , no posts yet on Instagram so delete the heading. Webpage has the April specials still listed. These things were surprising with the attention to detail in every other area.
