Excellent on all levels, very good atmosphere. But like so many restaurants these days I left with a headache from the noise...so many people in a small space (front room/bar). Hats off to the pastry chef, the bananamisu was outstanding, don't get me wrong all the food was stellar, but the finale was off the charts great! Service was top notch as well. Over all only 4 stars, due to the noise levels...then the piano man started, great music... actually helped reduce the other white noises.

Amazing experience as always. It's expensive but you ha e to go at least once. The bone in pork chop is on another level.

One of are favorite Louisville spots! You will need a reservation. Sit at the bar if you don't mind.

Great service, an atmosphere that's classy yet you don't feel the need to whisper, most importantly the absolutely delicious food. Do Not Hesitate. Fully meets expectations.

I wasn't really happy with the food. It was alright at best, but for the price better can be had at a lot of places on bardstown road.

The interior decor was really outdated and weird and kind of random. It was quite off putting.

I'm giving 2 stars because the service was good and the drinks were just fine. I won't ever eat here again though if I'm paying.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was here. I was in Louisville on a trip to the bourbon trail and didn t have any expectations coming into this restaurant. Being from Detroit where middle eastern and Mediterranean food are vast and lamb chops are a staple, I really could not believe how far they exceeded my expectations with their lamb chops here. The chops were tender and perfectly medium rare, and perfectly salted. Their potato au gratin was out of this world and the Demi glace, or whatever the sauce was, was spectacular! The only negative thing I could say about this place is that it was super loud inside.

Simone is the best employee ever #recommend Simone whet above and beyond to make sure that we were sat at the right table and then consistently made sure that we had good service through out the entire night. I would come back anytime with my family and recommend to friends. Thanks Simone for making it such a memorable night. :)

Every person visiting Louisville NEEDS to go to Jack Fry's. Nothing comes close.

Best restaurant in town. Old, established, not too big. Excellent menu and food. Wonderful owner and chef. Parking can be a challenge at busy times.

This place is awesome me and my wife went there on her anniversary had great dreams and great dinner so much fun

We go to Jack Fry's every year on our anniversary and I'm always impressed, but our experience last night was probably my favorite ever. I got the beef fillet and my husband got the lamb chops, and it's hard to say which was more delicious. The only negative was that my husband bit into a small piece of bone in our rabbit tortellini appetizer, but seriously -- you just can't go wrong with anything you order here! And the service is absolutely impeccable as well.

Went this past Sunday for my wife's birthday. First off they sat us at table in between the hostess stand and the kitchen entrance. With the layout, this meant that everyone coming into the restaurant, entering/exiting the kitchen, or going to the bathroom would walk next to our table. The floor was not well supported here causing the table and chairs to rock every time anyone did so... which was constantly. I did ask to be re-seated and was initially met with friction. I was only accommodated after simply stating I would take my business somewhere else. Wife got the Filet and myself the Trout. Food was excellent and service was good. They even gave my wife a free bunt cake for her birthday. So why the one-star review? Because by 3 AM I was hunkered over the toilet violently throwing up trout. Now I am not saying someone messed with my food, but I was clearly regarded as inconvenience, have never gotten sick from fish before, and felt fine by the morning. Its enough of a coincidence that I doubt I'll be back.

Our group was blown away by the service and consideration we were shown. The restaurant is truly fine dining from the atmosphere to the food and drinks. A number of people in our party are vegan and the chef went out of his way to prepare a dish catered to our needs.We were incredibly impressed and hope to return when we visit Louisville again.

I have heard so much about this place, that I was afraid I might be disappointed. But, it was every bit as good as the reputation I had heard about. Great food - fantastic service -great atmosphere.

Great meal and great service! Enjoyed family dinner on a Sunday nite. Lively, energetic crowd. Salmon and filet entrees were superb. Escagot app was too. A time tested favorite! So worth the minor parking hassle of the Highlands (for us suburbia dwellers). Looking forward to new expanded dinning area. Highly recommend!

Very nice place. Food is top notch. Not cheap so expect a larger than normal bill. For a special occasion this is the perfect place.

I have been eating here for over 8 years and my wife over 20 years. Moving to Louisville from Chicago and being spoiled with great restaurants at your finger tips living downtown Chicago, Jack Fry's has always been a great choice. The food is always really solid and excellent along with the service. I highly recommend Jack Fry's.

Horrible. Ordered 2 bottles of wine one of which was a $200 bottle of Caymus. Had to wait at a min of 30 min for the caymus to come to the table. They said they couldn t find it. Service is horrible. Waiter blamed it on us because we ask for the ladies to be served first. Just sad! The manager lady is very rude Won t recomend and definitely won t be back!

Louisville tradition. One of my favorites. If visiting, try to have lunch or dinner here.

Exceptional, just exceptional! 6 friends and I were in town for a bachelor party, and being a group of food snobs that we are, we decided to make a stop at Jack Fry's due to its reviews and reputation. Suffice it to say, no one was disappointed. Every single item we had was cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly, presented beautifully, and of course most importantly, tasted exceptional. Across our party of 7, we tried multiple starters, entrees, and desserts, and every single item was spot on perfection. The service was absolutely stellar as well. If you want refined Southern food with an old-school feel, this place is truly unbeatable.

Service was a little bit slow getting refills on drinks or terrible and the food I guess it was okay it was eatable that's my true opinion I hope you like it

Stellar. Impeccable service. Table cloth changed between each customer. Watermelon Gespachio soup was delicious. Walleye perfectly flakey, no grease. Anduli sauce just the right amount of heat. Vegetables cooked but not mushy. Patachio cake with milk chocolate ganache, oh yeah.
Some of the best food, hands down, in Kentucky.

The service was also pretty phenomenal. I felt like the server knew when to approach our table at just the right time. We started the table off with a bottle of Cabernet, the Escargots, and Spicy Fried Oysters - no picture of the apps, we inhaled those as soon as they were placed on the table.. Both were very delicious. I had no idea what Escargots were, and my friends didn't tell me until after we finished the plate. But it didn't even phase me knowing I ate snails.

Great atmosphere, awesome food, fantastic service. It's a really great down to earth but "fancy" place. We love going here to celebrate special occasions. Everything is always so good, you never have to worry about anything. Just bring good company with you and you'll enjoy it.

Servers were great. Around lunch it was a bit busy, for the week day. Very good quality food. Family oriented.

I would recommend this place for sure... had a iced blended cookie and cream with 4 espresso shots and it was good too!! If you stop here you won't be let down unless you're impatient because it does take a little bit to make fresh food so just relax and enjoy the simple life Haha . Also no A/C if that bugs you.

My wife and I ate here Sunday night to celebrate our anniversary and we could not have asked for a better experience. Everything was incredible - the food, the drinks, the atmosphere and the service. Our waitress/bartender, Ashley, was extremely kind, helpful and friendly. She took the time to give us plenty of recommendations and the drinks she made for us were phenomenal. The food was exceptional, arguably the best food we ve ever had. Overall this was one of the best restaurant experiences we ve ever had. We live nearly 4 hours away, but we will come back to Louisville just to eat here again.

Unbelievable! Everything from the fresh soda bread to the brussel sprouts to the seared halibut was beyond excellent! Service is impeccable and ambiance is marvelous. A "must do" stop for Louisville visitors.

I have to say the Chilean Seabass I so enjoyed was prepared to perfection! And our server, Liz, definitely sets the higher standard! My husband and I had such a wonderful evening!

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner with amazing entrees, appetizers and deserts for my Mothers Birthday. It was a wonderful Saturday night and I highly recommend Teresa, she was impeccable as our waitress. Our family will be back again to enjoy the wonderful menu and chef specials.

Update 2021: Unfortunately manager asked me to wear a mask after telling her I have a medical condition while wearing a shield, then service was bad and part of my husband's meal was burnt. Won't be returning.
Having been a handful of times, mostly for Valentine's, we returned this year only to have our reservation time mixed up. The owner and two others apologized for the inconvenience while the owner offered to pay for our meal for the inconvenience if we'd sit at the bar. We were there just a few minutes when she returned to offer us a table from a cancellation.

The ambiance felt like I had taken a step back in time. It was cozy and comfortable with prompt service. The beef filet was out of this world so was the lamb.

The food was great. Ask to be seated in Jenny's section. She is awesome. I got the fried chicken sandwich. It was light and not too greasy.

The food and service was exceptional at Jack Fry's! My husband and I shared the oh so delicious lobster crab cakes, then shared a plentiful Bibb salad with a delicious Dijon vinaigrette. I had the Beef Filet and he had the Lamb Chops. They were both amazing! Definitely recommend Jack Fry's for an amazing dinner date to treat yourselves! Bring your pocketbook though, for real! Worth it though! So yummy and filling!

Wonderful experience! I had a very knowledgeable server. I asked what to eat, and his advice was right on! Filet, and pecan bar for desert. Best of either I have had in a long time...maybe ever.
