The ROACH INFESTATION at Walton Columns Drive is ridiculous! I spoke with Andrea Farmer at the corporate office, but she doesn't seem to think that it's an important issue. This has been going on since we moved in almost 6 months ago, with no resolution yet.

Walton on the Chattahoochee is fabulous. The owner walks the community often to make sure it meets his standards and to identify issues that need fixing. He is also friendly and asks about our experience here. I have rented many places in my 69 years so have a lot of experience, and never seen a management group so involved with the day to day operation. Kudos to Mr T and his staff!! I am amazed and impressed.
The grounds are incredible. Tree covered with a large assortment of different flowering bushes that all seem to bloom at different times. One community trail provides a quiet oasis among huge majestic trees, beautiful flowers and flowering bushes. For the inquisitive small plaques tell you the names of the trees and bushes. Nice touch.
The river walk area is so beautiful. The sound of the river and the many flowers create a tranquil setting. Many people here have dogs and most pick up after their pets. It was important that I find a dog friendly place to walk.
The amenities include two pools that are always clean and well taken care of, two dog parks (small and large dog), two very clean laundry rooms, spotless workout room with equipment, lots of charcoal grills that are cleaned every day, and a nice Coffee shop.
The operating staff is very friendly from the people who lease the units (Novia and Isaiah), clean the amenities and units (Maria, Uraida), take care of the grills and dog stations, etc and run special events (Rollie, Haruko) clean the pool area (Jorge), maintain/manage the buildings (Chris, Matt, Justin), Brenda and I know I missed others.
For perfect honesty I need to say the units squeak as in the floors in the townhouses creak when you walk in certain rooms. Aside from that VERY HAPPY to rent here.
I can t forget the friendly residents. Wow what a diverse community we have. Interesting and nice people with so many different talents and experiences. Young, older, multicultural and diverse backgrounds and education with a mosaic of experiences make for friendly and sometimes opposing views and discussions. Intellectually stimulating. Love living here.
I decided to go ahead and lease with Walton so when I came to sign my lease it was close to 530p. Once I got there Sarah gave me the info I needed to sign my lease. As I m reading over my lease I can tell that she was in a rush. I then said i m so sorry I just need to read over this lease . She said so you re going to read all 47 pages? . I was stunned. That rubbed me the wrong way. Then as I am signing the paperwork she would say please sign here very quickly as if she was in a rush. Keep in mind it was almost 6 PM which was the time they close. Once I received my keys she then gave me the walk-through paper to sign. I asked her do you want me to sign this paper although we did not do a walk-through together? . She said that she went through the apartment herself and that all I need to do is sign the paper because that is how they do it at Walton and she wasn t sure how they did it elsewhere. Then stated after I do the walk-through myself I can bring the paper back. Once I left with my keys I went looking for my apartment. I got lost because she failed to show me where my apartment was and where the mailboxes were. Once I finally found the apartment I noticed that she put me to the back which was something that I requested I did not want before moving in. I also did not have any service....not one bar in that apartment. Keep in mind I have a daughter. I immediately reached out to Sarah as well as the property manager Kimberly. I sent them both emails with my concerns. They did eventually move me to another apartment which took a few days for me to get in. Once I received my new keys to my new apartment I thought that I would be happy. I was wrong. I was never given another form for the walk through. I was never told how to turn on the fireplace from Sarah. I was never told where the mailboxes were located. Sarah told me my mailbox number was 146. Come to find out it was actually 126. Now we have come to the ultimate issue. Mold!!!it was mold build up on the vents as well as the window.there were bugs in the light domes that were never cleaned out prior to me moving in. There are blue spots on several areas of the rugs. There s a sticky spot on the rug that I mentioned to Sarah and she stated someone will get that up for me. I ve reached out to Matt on my concerns as well. There s a horrible smell in this apartment that no matter how much I clean I can t get that smell to go away. There are vents in here that are super dusty that clearly were not cleaned prior to me moving in. There s a rack missing in my refrigerator which I m sure I would get charged for had I not mentioned it. There s lightbulbs that are out that I just noticed. No one would allow their family to live here under these conditions. There s an email that was sent to me from Kimberly the property manager after I filled out the survey that was sent to me asking about my move in experiences. Instead of her addressing all the issues and fixing them she d rather give me the option to move. She stated that Walton was not the place for me. I received my rent money back for the month I paid. This is not how you treat residents. I had to hurry to find another apartment because I only was given a month to move out. Keep in mind I spent large amounts of money to move into Walton. Only to have to spend more money to move out. This added stress on me and my daughter. Is this how future residents should be treated just because they are mentioning issues especially mold within the apartment?
The management team from top to bottom is pathetic (refer to my review regarding the Walton Centennial property). This review is only a snapshot of the way they do business. They are arrogant, condescending, and wouldn't know the truth if it bit them in the butt. It starts at the very top and continues to lower management. One of them actually claims to be a Christian. Their properties are overpriced and overrated.
I recently posted a review about a week ago in hopes that something would get resolved. Don't fall for the reply hype if they tell you to call corporate. I contacted the number in my previous post above. Spoke with a lady named Trisha if im not mistaken that was her name. whoever is over the Augusta location. She was very rude and nonchalant. I will be contacting the BBB and post my experience on all the social media outlets. I hate that I even gave my money to these people for 6 years. Please don't move to Walton Oaks.
I have never been more disappointed in all my 6 years of staying here. I put in my 30 days to move out for several reasons. For one I had gone through a plumbing issue for 3 months. Once I put in my 3 months they offered to credit back. Yet when I was complaining about the issue Nothing could be done This is supposed to be a smoke free environment but ppl who don t even stay here stand over the balcony all day and night loud talking and smoking.I have a picture of a guy standing on the roof and the last straw was a fight that broke out next to the park where my kids were playing. It went viral on fb. You can here the guys in the background threatening to shoot. I reported it to the office and all they ca say is oh they are gone now. I beg to differ bc they still stay here. I refuse to allow my kids grow up in a ghetto environment. I asked could they st least waive they fee since my lease is up on May anyways and they said no. Don t move here this place has turned back completely ghetto.i stay in the waltons oaks in Augusta ga
I have been working with Erick, Ashlyn and their whole team for several months arranging my out of state move. Every step of the way they have gone way above and beyond what was needed. In the end we found the perfect place exactly what I was looking for. They were helpful, informative, also responded in a timely matter. Even though my move was planned ahead of time they never forgot to reach out! They have welcomed my family and I with open arms and I am so happy to call this place my home!! Thanks for having people who truly care about our needs and what we are looking for!
