Walden golf club is incredibly well maintained, and a test of ones golf skills. Tee boxes and fairways are lush, greens and fast and small, sand is everywhere. Holes 11, 12, & 13 will test your patience while being beautiful to look at and play. I am proudly a member and will be for a long time.

This is a dual review, since the golf course and neighborhood share the name: Walden and the course's offce is housed in the residents HOA office. I think people need to be aware of the area. People I golf with can't find info on the neighborhhod, so....
Course is very beautiful and challenging, .... Have always had good service at the course, prompt, food is great too. Never had an issue with the course...... Seems to be no benefits on dues if you are a resident, when I have inquired over the last 10 years.
BUT, don't think becoming a resident here.
Walden and the Walden Golf course are two entities. Walden HOA is a nightmare, worse than April Sound or The Woodlands HOAs. Just go to Berthas or The Yacht club and ask residents how they feel. Inconsistent and arrogant.
People come here, see the lovely course, then think about moving here. DONT! Live in a difference community, come here and enjoy this great course and be better off afterwards.
Great menu, chef, quality food and reasonable prices
I was invited to play Walden on Lake Conroe for 2 days, 2 full rounds and though this course has hosted prestigious events, and I am told is ranked in the single digits in Texas, it is totally devoid of snobbery insofar as we were concerned. As an obvious guests, we were treated with the same consideration as a full member by everyone we met on course or in any of the facilities. We were never rushed, snubbed nor crowded on course nor off, and with the exception of a small party that asked politely if they might play through after appearing from nowhere, most everyone played about the same pace as my group for 36 holes over 2 days. It was as though we had the course to ourselves. Even the maintenance people disappeared as soon as we took the tee boxes, then re-appeared after we left the greens.
I have played nice clubs before and likely will again, but Walden on Lake Conroe stands out as a very comfortable place to play a well designed and maintained course. I'd apply for membership there if I didn't live 95 miles away. I recommend.

Played only time last saturday with friend who lives in area. Great golf course. Hard but beautiful, great shape and fun. Dinner that night was super.

Visited the clubhouse, restaurant and driving range. All the staff were super nice and helpful. All were wearing masks and keeping 6 feet. Can't say the same for other customers. Lots of people not wearing masks indoors. The other golfers in general weren't super nice when we came across them on the course in one way or another.
First class all the way. Our favorite golf course of all in Lake Conroe area. Certainly the best maintained and the most challenging course in this part of the country. The signature hole (#11), is both difficult and gorgeous. From #7 to #14.....get ready!! 18 is another great one. It's a membership only club; but if you're offered a chance to play there, don't pass it up.
This golf course is the best in the area. Greens are in great shape. The gold tees for me are very playable and provide tour quality conditions. Shoot you personal best here and you wont forget it. Give it a try

Great golf program for the kids! They all improved tremendously.
New Year's Eve Dinner was fantastic. Chef Oscar created some awesome entrees and appetizers tonight. Everything was great. I would encourage everyone to go there and try his creations.

Enjoyed the course, and ate dinner at the club. The food was excellent and the course was very nice.
Simply put, one of the best places to golf in the Houston, Texas area. I love the lengthy challenging holes of this course with raised greens and some crazy doglegs and fun Par 3's. The clubhouse also has a really good restaurant to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. Bring ur A-game though, I've watched golfers who hit in the mid 70's-low 80's normally, hit in the 90's on this course.
