Super great service beer to go perfect really great bison burger patio only Aug 2020
Wonderful place that isn't to expensive abd has a great experience during the pandemic. The server was super nice and had great expertise, and tge food was delicious. Recommend trying this place if your in Denver
The best burger I ve had in Denver. Got the Johnny Burger. Well salted, cooked medium and juicy, good sear and bordering almost too much cheese. If I did it again I d do a single patty. Onion rings and fries were crisp and a perfect accouterment.
Delicious burgers . No frills eating. Cocktails are good and strong .
Checked out My Brothers Bar, hearing that it was the oldest bar in Denver. I ordered the chili dog... the hot dog was definitely not a supermarket brand. Quite a bit larger, split and grilled for some crispy edges. Good amount of chili, the bun pretty much held up but still a bit of a mess. recommend
Very nice selection of alcohol and the bar style food is prepared well. Staff is friendly, with a bit of spunk. Great location. Price is about what you expect.
Sad state, not sure what happened to this place. I know it's "Covid times" but that hasn't prevented any other restaurant I've been to from providing decent customer service and quality food. I've been to My Brother's Bar countless times over the years. It's always been a spot I've wanted to come back to. After this visit, I am not sure I'll ever come back. Burgers were gray and not charred like they normally are. Tasted like they were just thawed patties from Costco. I've had better burgers from McDonalds, no joke here. Servers were rude, unattentive, didn't explain that they wouldn't be serving the condiments tray, and once our food was served, we didn't see another waiter for 15 minutes. By time we got the condiments (a spiteful-sized-portion of hot peppers hiding 1 small onion slice) the burgers were cold. Service was nonexistent; it seemed 2 of the male servers wouldn't even look our direction. I tried to get the attention, very politely, of another server, but I think she was too drunk from taking shots at a customer/friend's table.
This place has a great atmosphere and great food I have brought my family there to have drinks and some food and everything was great. The service is what had me give them 2 stars. After dinner was over we asked for the check we had 3 couples there she explained that they do not split the checks up due to covid 19. We ask that you have one person pay the check and everyone else been venmo that person. I explained no one told us that we walked in the door with a group it would have been really nice to know as we had over a $100 tab. She said well that is what we are doing. Then she walked away. When she returned She was very rude With me and my family when we were just asking questions then walked off again saying you shouda said you wanted the bill spilt before you sat down... REALLY! What a great server walking off saying stuff to a customer. I went and spoke to the manager who said that is not a problem. I said thank you! He explained we do not mind splitting up the bills. I said thank you so much I appreciate that when set back at my table. We had another server come to our table and ask us how we wanted the bill split we explained it and she told us to write down on napkins what we each oh and make sure we add the tax. She sat there while we all split up the check. We asked her if its easier to let her know what we had and she can put it together in the computer. She said this is easier.. I've worked in the restaurants for years and splitting a bill in the POS system is easier than making a whole group figure it out. This is unfortunate cause this is a killer spot.
I picked a burger and fries/rings for lunch. Good burger! Rings were good as well. I will be back
The food was good, I got a burger with fries and onion rings. It is worth noting that it comes plain, I probably would've ordered tomatoes and lettuce if I would've realized that. Overall it was pretty tasty and very reasonably priced. If I went again I might bring a small Bluetooth speaker for music. Time inside part is limited to one hour.
Great little spot to grab a bite and a drink, nice out door option(post covid), and located in a great spot. Would recommend.
My favorite spot for American food. Staff treated us so kindly. It has a nice interior.
A great local joint with basic, delicious burgers. I enjoyed the creativity if the domes during covid
My Brothers Bar is downright amazing. The waitstaff are so friendly, food and drinks arrive quickly and taste heavenly. They have the cutest outdoor patio with hanging Edison bulbs. Can t wait for my next time dining with MBB. FYI: try the Johnny Burger!!!!
Excellent Food ordered a Sweet Italian Swiss sm onion rings and a hot chocolate..7 min later I had my order...rings were perfect and I would not insult the chef by adding condiments to the sandwich...they were not needed..glad they provided them ,but certainly were not needed in this case. Food was hot right off the grill and was fresh made..I would drive to downtown to get this again price is average for a down town location....highly recommend
Pleasant place to come enjoy while downtown Denver. Staff is extremely welcoming. My personal recommendations would be a Jonny burger and fries, along with a paloma!!! Enjoy my friends :)
This place is known for their burgers - I wasn't all that impressed. Good but not great. Service is always spot on and the atmosphere is comfortable.
american food, yeah, super satisfying. great hospitality. this place has a great feel to it.
Fantastic food and great customer service. We ordered the JCB and were accidentally given another Andrew's order but didn't realize until we got home - when we returned, they were sincerely apologetic and quickly offered to get us our order brought out fresh. It was exactly as advertised!! Onion rings are crispy perfection and the burger was delicious. Hungry eaters should get the double patty!
Will definitely be back here again!
Food and setting was great! Will possibly be back. Can t give 5 stars because the service we received from our server was HORRIBLE! 20 min before we were even greeted upon being seated, ~40 minutes to get my check despite the restaurant being quiet at 10 pm. Everyone else that helped us was a great joy, will possibly return for that and the nice environment.
I have always loved My Brother's Bar - they have one of the best burgers in Denver. Recently came back to celebrate my birthday with co-workers, and we loved our stay in one of the COVID-friendly igloos. It was so cozy and well decorated! Our server, Kent, was great as well.
Inside of the bar was closed off due to covid. So I feel like I missed on the real experience. But outdoor seating was nice and the burger was okay. Cheap beers in a nice area make the trip worth it.
This place has done a great job of adapting to COVID. They've put several large, clear igloos in the parking lot that look great (they've unfortunately been occupied every time we've been here). There's also a large tent that accommodates overflow seating. Their "traditional" outdoor patio has 4 Eskimo fishing tents for when it is cold or wet, and also 5 outdoor 4-tops with heat lamps.
The food and drink prices are very reasonable, and the menu is typical bar food.
Burger was great. Fries and onion rings were aight.
My top place for tasty american food. good place to hang and eat some good food. this place has a good atmosphere. food is like a restaurant in louisville i liked.
I can see this place going downhill after Covid.
Place needs work, porta John as a bathroom charge for everything on the menu including the lettuce for your burger. The service could be better and they charge a 20% Covid fee. Wouldn t recommend whatsoever. They also give the food as a fast food place without plates or utensils.
Shady Employees serving up over priced pub food. What a waste of time, energy and $$$ spent here. Mcdonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Carl's Jr. serve better cheeseburgers and fries.
American food, yeah, so great. Food was so delish. The staff was very welcoming and sociable. The place has an awesome atmosphere.
Remarkably bad food, absent service, and downright terrible drinks. Whoever was bartending doesnt know how to make a decent cocktail, specifically old fashions and moscow mules lol.
I came here with high expectations, but the meal was below average. We tried 2 types of burgers, nachos, and a chicken sandwich. We were shocked at how highly rated this place is. I guess it would be a good spot for drunk food if you don t want to cook at home. But it s not high quality. The salsa was Tostitos, they defiantly used Kraft American cheese on the burgers. We were excited for delicious burgers, like we ve had at other local top rated place, but this place did not meet expectations of a place with 1000+ reviews and 4.5 stars.
I've been to My Brother's Bar a few times and it never disappoints. They have dark, cozy atmosphere as well as fantastic burgers and beers. The staff has always been great and the service is quick. Couldn't ask for anything more.
The best humberger on earth to me so far with consistent quality and taste over the times.
Because it's an institution, I really want to love this place. And I know covid is very hard for restaurants. But the Friday afternoon hostess was hostile and unfriendly. I most definitely wanted to walk away but my husband wanted to overlook her bad attitude and stay. I will probably give it one more opportunity to make me feel more welcomed next time, but only because of what this place represents. If it was my restaurant, no way I would have her sit on the sidewalk and interact with my customers.
My preferred place for quality american food. definitely worth going back to. the bill was fair.
American food and service here is very good. super place to meet and chat with coworkers. the staff was helpful and kind.
This is a bar packed with history and a bit unusual. First, there is no sign on the building indicating it is My Brother s Bar, but this is part of the history and fun. Lots of tables and noise, with a great bar selection and attentive servers. The food portions are big and served quickly. We had a baby with us and the servers were very welcoming rather than the cold shoulder you get at some places. The history of this bar and changes in ownership are very interesting to read. Highly recommended!
I give the food 4.5 stars. However I give the service 1 star. First, I acknowledge that the owners have tried to accommodate the covid outside seating, but the insulated tent was not warm enough to take my coat off. Because it was cold on the day I went, it would have made sense for them to turn the heater on and zip up the tent to get it warm for customers. But instead, the door was wide open and the heater was not turned on until we sat down.
Next issue is there are no menus. You are required to use the scan. My phone would not open the website. Even though the bar has its own internet, it is locked, and the password was no where to be found on the table next to the scan. Luckily someone else's phone worked. Frankly, the menu is too big to be on the scan. They just need to provide laminated menus or throw away paper menus.
The next issue is there were 4 of us, we ordered a nacho appetizer and we got 2 napkins. When we requested more, we got 2 more napkins, 2 little plastic plates and 3 little plastic forks. The nachos were delivered and then within 5 minutes, our burgers were served with fries and onion rings. The nachos essentially got too cold to eat because the tent was cold. So when the burgers arrived we wanted to eat it still was warm.
Some of the best burgers, onion rings, and other bar food in Denver. Wonderful staff, great atmosphere, and a nice patio when the weather is good. The classical music is the cherry on top!
BEST BURGERS IN DENVER!!
I've been going here since I was little and they ALWAYS kill it! Their extended parking lot patio is GREAT during covid. Order the Johnny burger, you wont be disappointed! They are always friendly and quick with their service. Ignore the reviews complaining about the price, it's well worth it! I am moving to Texas tomorrow and I made sure this was the last burger I had in my home state. Thank you My Brothers Bar for being a fantastic establishment!
Thoroughly enjoyed this eclectic little bar! Highly recommended! The mule was fantastic!
The double American burger with Swiss cheese is so so delicious
Fast food burgers but at least you can have a cocktail. Nice people.
They had two dining areas one with the igloo the other in the tent. The igloos are heated and supposedly the tent was as well but the flaps were open so it got pretty cold. The food took a while to arrive but was worth it. I had the bison burger which was not bad. Recommend to come in the day when its warmer or if you go late make sure you are dressed for it.
A classic old school bar with the BEST BURGERS IN DENVER....I said what I said. You be the judge
American food at this place - delicious. definitely worth a return trip.
This place is the best! The food is great. The way the serve every the food is cute. Plus, great patio on nice days!! The lady bartender the night I went was super great, as soon as I get her name I'll write a better review!
Such a cool, old establishment. There's such a history there. Prices are super reasonable for a Denver classic spot. Kid friendly (depending on time of day, I'm sure), good selection of meal choices, and everything was cooked well. Worth a visit.
This was awesome!! They take every precaution during this pandemic snd have the most clever set up ever! The food and the wsitstaff is amazing here!
The burgers are excellent, the beer selection is fair, and the service is superb. The staff are friendly and the manager (owner?) went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He gave my daughter a balloon as we were leaving which she loved. Have been in twice and will definitely return.
Bum steer sandwich was tasty for $8. However the fries were rather light in quantity for the $2.75
I ordered the Johnny Burger and it was fantastic. Quality beef with a really good jalapeno mayo I believe. It was just the right amount of out-of-the-ordinary and solid classic burger. Definitely hit the spot.
Food is ok. Beer selection is great. Atmosphere was good but service was poor.
melt in your mouth burger. I dont know how anyone can choose to be vegetarian with burgers like this. fries and onion rings were on point.
Delicious burgers without the frill. I feel like they went above and beyond to keep people socially distanced and safe. There are portapotties for patrons and beautiful outdoor seating. Drink selection is limited but covered all the bases.
If you move away from Denver and get home sick, come here upon revisiting and have food. It tastes like old Denver. Been eating food here for 47 years until I moved to the coast. Fantastic.
The burgers aren't all they're chalked up to be. I understand covid times have made restrictions hard, but the owner telling us 7 minutes after we got our food that our allotted 60minutes was up, was unacceptable. If you put an hour long restriction on the outdoor bubbles, than your service should be fast and sufficient. The poor servers who are understaffed worked their best, but service was slow and often inaccurate, and the owner was rude and unfeeling. The food outside the burgers were good, but not worth the experience. Just prepare to be disappointed.
Consistantly amazing food and service. I've eaten here for 45 years and the food is always delicious. Love the sweet Italian swiss, JCB and onion rings. My Brother's Bar is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver.
The food was excellent here, but our service was not. Our waitress was borderline rude, asking us to reconsider our beer order because it was annoying for her to pour. Service hasn't been a problem in the past, so I hope this won't be an issue in the future.
My favorite location for delicious american food. Nice place to meet and catch up with family. Next time I'll be back with my coworkers. This place has a great feel to it. Food is like a restaurant in Jacksonville I loved.
Less than average food and dreadful service today. I would not rush back anytime soon.
Fantastic bar, people, food and space. We stopped in while visiting Denver and ending up spending our entire day/evening at the bar. There are no TVs which facilitates real human interactions. We met some visitors and regulars, had personable and great bartenders, and deemed it our favorite bar outside of our hometown. It is a true English style bar, and they played classical music while we were there which was a nice touch. I only wish it was closer to home.
Ambience was awesome !!! Fancy name and fancy menu BUT worst FOOD EVER . Would really appreciate if they would serve better quality of food .
Burgers , chicken tender and Red chilli everything was bad . Would rather pick up burger from McDonald s or Wendy s joint and sit in igloo for the experience. Don t waste your money
We dint even order fries but still they charged us . Worst part all the fries were hand touched by the server while serving us . He dint even wear gloves it was kind of scary . We dint even touched the fries .
Nice relaxing place love the atmosphere they offer dromes so you don't freeze to death lol it is first come first serve. Food is good decent price good service I enjoyed it
Tried out this spot the other day and it was pretty delicious! Prices are decent/fair for the quality and size. Beers are pretty inexpensive, as well (~$5 per pint).
Will be back here soon!
Awesome burgers, great covid friendly outdoor seating, clear domes for nighttime, and great selection of beers to boot!
Keeping it short & simple. Bad service and poor taste in food. You get reminded multiple times that you have to be out by 10, to the point where it gets annoying. Even though they want you out by 10 they take forever to get a server to your table.
The taste of the food doesn t match the price at all.
The Johnny burger was highly disappointing.
Wouldn t recommend this place.
I hardly been to this area of Denver but I greatly recommend to folks. It feels like a quieter, richer, and cleaner version of downtown Denver. My Brother s Bar only emphasizes that point. Don t believe the round clear tents are just a gimmick. Whether it be your partner or bar hopping group, the tents provides the opportunity for a more personal beer experience. Would love to have been in one under a light rain or snow! I did not have much of the food but the beers were unique and potent. Also, their portable bathroom game is unmatched. They are heated and are of absolute class
Best burger in town
Great tap selection
One of the best burgers in the country. Love this place
Love this place! Drinks and food are delicious. If you re not in the mood for a burger their other sandwiches are just as tasty
Good food but feel terrible for the employees that work there. They have them working in blizzard conditions.
Classic menu with the best burgers and excellent onion rings. Great patio seating.
One of the best burgers in town! Don t expect anything fancy though. You won t even get a plate, but I promise you won t be disappointed. Also it s one of Denver s oldest bars.
Food was overrated. Service sucked even worse. Georgia was out sever and refused to split the bill and after each time exiting our patio tent refused to close the door. Won t be returning.
Came here with a group of friends for a quick drink before we went to dinner, it turned into 45 minutes of confusion and poor service. 2 of the 5 drinks were made incorrectly, but our server disappeared for 20 minutes after giving us our drinks. After a new server showed up we informed her that our drinks were wrong, she went back to the kitchen for quite a while and returned to tell us that's just how they make them. It then took another 20 minutes to sort out the check, we were told there we no mangers present so they weren't able to comp anything. After waiting a little longer, they finally called upon the owner to fix the check. Ambience there was cool but probably won't return, a simple drink mistake shouldn't take 45 minutes.
Their employee was too busy to give me adequate parking advice however long he s worked there he didn t have the ability to help me and then the restaurant left me waiting outside while I wanted to order to go. Then they say to go orders will be a long wait. Obviously poorly staffed poorly managed.
Great place. Good food. Good drinks. Great staff. Great place to meet friends. And the music is not so loud that one can have a conversation with people at the same or adjacent table. The music is of the classical kind.
We got the large onion rings, Reuben, and the Steer burger. Onion rings were fantastic, although the portion was a little small. The reuben was okay, the meat was super dry. The Steer burger was really good, just a satisfying plain ol burger. Service was good as well and it has a really cute outdoor seating area that's shaded and comfortable.
The burgers were good. The atmosphere and the service was fun and laid back. Prices are great for Denver. My friends and I couldn't stop talking about the plastic container that the toppings come in. An all around great time. I appreciate how the place itself doesn't have a sign, but they sell merch with the logo.
The new outdoor setup is very cool. They converted the parking lot into a dining area with multiple domes. Each dome had a heater. Overall, the service and the food were good.
Great place, staff had fantastic suggestions and we really enjoyed our lunch.
You won't find raspberry bacon jam on your burgers here, which is why this place is amazing... Simple, great burgers. They stick to what they are good at and they are reallllllyy good at it.
Amazing little secret in Denver. I had the bison burger that was perfectly cooked. The fries and onion rings were well done companied with some good beer.
We re from out of town, and it was our first time eating here. I debated sharing this experience, but here it goes. Apparently, everyone eats outside. I would have loved to be asked if I wanted to sit outside or sit at one of the tables under the tent, or private seatings. We got to sit outside under an umbrella with a wobbly table. The waitress who gave us our drinks explained that the table would be wobbly after we already found out. She bought out our drinks without straws, so we asked the host for straws. The host goes to tell a gentleman that table nine (us) needs straws. The young man comes back with our check. Yes, our check, I immediately said whoa! Hold on we didn t even receive our food yet. But my husband said maybe that s how they do it. The guy then agrees with him and says yes that s how they do it. I looked confused and then asked about our straws, he said he didn t have any and that we just saved the turtles. WHAT?! I believe that he just misunderstood what the host said, because that s my way of giving people the benefit of the doubt. Anyway.. another waitress arrived with our food and notices that we have the check. She removes the check, gives us our food, and immediately apologizes. I asked her about the straws and she says they don t have the typical straws, but she gave us these red straws (which was perfect and all I needed). I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the chef forgot the bacon. I ate it and informed the waitress about it because I just wanted to get out of there. While I was eating, the guy and two other waitresses came to our table to apologize. One of them gave myself and my husband a complimentary Oreo cookie, we paid the full bill, and that was the end of it. The burger was okay, it was pretty flavorful, but if I were to visit Denver, CO again, I would never go there. We are black. Maybe this doesn t matter, I feel like it was a simple miscommunication, but I wasn t impressed. Especially by the gentleman who went out of his way to not provide excellent customer service.
The food was cold. The appetizers are a joke and Incredibly poor value for the money. The service was not horrible however it was not good it is what I would describe as benign neglect. Won't be coming back.
Very affordable love to sit on the patio by the fire place, they re very strict as far as seating and mingling with other tables but it s understandable. They regulate respectfully. Food is good drinks are strong CAN T GO WRONG
I have to say that last night was my first time here and everyone is so freaking helpful and nice as soon as you arrive. I ve been very nervous to visit restaurants but I never felt more comfortable from the staff. Can t forget to mention the food is OUTSTANDING and hits the spot. Burgers and fries are legit and the drinks are strong. I love the set up with the outside patios and little bubbles surrounding it. Very social distanced and I was really able to relax knowing that this place takes all the regulations seriously. I also love that this is a local bar and historic too so if you are in Denver, do not hesitate to support this local and family owned establishment. What you are doing right now is so wonderful.
Amazing divey burger joint. Dimly lit, old school feel, great service, delicious burger, all with classical music in the background. Definitely coming back here !
The burger was good and the Cole slaw was good. However the size portions of the sides are not worth buying at all. Paid $2.75 for Cole slaw and $2.75 for about 10 fries... The fries tasted overwhelmingly like grease and were very dry.
Came to Denver on vacation and had to try it. Very good. Burger was delicious. Parking is a little scarce.
It was our first meal out as a family since the beginning of the pandemic, and this was the perfect place to do it! The outdoor seating was awesome and the domes are too cute! The service was phenomenal and the food & drinks were delicious. If you want a safe clean place to relax and feel a little bit more normal, definitely come here. Thanks for the great experience!
