I suggest you get bouncer liability. He s very aggressive. If he s escalating a situation while the patron is attempting to de-escalate the situation, the roles are backwards. Also that puts him at a higher risk of being assaulted himself. You would think that a bouncer would prefer to handle a situation peacefully. Just a suggestion.

Just a great venue for improv and comedy. For like 8 bucks, you get in to see four or five hours of shows. Highly recommend "Hit and Run" (where they improvise a musical) and "Makeshift Shakespeare."

No better value in Denver, period.

Last night I attended the improv dual, where the audience determines the winner of the show. I sat in the second row, and did not receive a ballot to cast my vote...as most of the audience did not. Terrible way to run a show where the audience is supposed to be involved.

This comedy club is great, it is small and quaint however this allows for lower prices as well as more crowd involvement. They also do charge separately per show each night so make sure to buy tickets in advance or be ready to possibly wait until the next show of the night.

For the price, I enjoyed it. A local improve troupe, called Smooth came in and ran with it from two different audience topics, marine biology, and riddles. The ticket taker and emcee were nervous, but hey, it's ok!

Saw the Senor Loco show last night at Voodoo and had tons of fun! The puppets were excellent and the way they showed the live puppetry in combination with the filmed final product was so clever. The puppeteers would be doing their thing onstage, but you could look at a live feed monitor to see the final product. It was such an interactive way to do film puppetry. And the audience involvement/improv made it even batter. The show was hilarious and I am excited to see what comes next from these guys!

BAD! The show was bad, so bad we left early. Not funny. Total waste of time and money.

Five untalented guys trying to make up lines as they go.

Skip this place and watch bums accross the street, you'll be more entertained.

Just got back home from there. Very disappointing. Checked their site for tonight s 7pm show and got there at 6:30. Place was dark so I tried knocking and calling, no response. Waited in my truck for awhile as I thought they were running behind. By 7, I observed 10 others, some being dropped off by Uber. I left and was bummed just as everyone else. The least you could do is update your calendar. Boo!

My wife and I went on a Friday night to see Hit and Run, the improv musical show. It was awesome! Every person in the show was hilarious and we were really impressed with their singing, comedy, and ability to put together a show from audience suggestions. We have been to the two other improv clubs in Denver and this was the funniest so far.

However, they did say we could stay for the next show for free and we decided to give it a try. It was called Mis-connections. The concept sounded really funny. It was taking misconnections from Craig's List and acting them out. They were horrible! They were all raunchy, and most of the people in the audience left after a couple scenes. My wife has never walked out of a show in her life, but we had to leave. They were doing scenes about selling and eating feces in hospital cafeterias, and every other act was just as bad. If they say you can stay for free for the misconnections show, leave, it is not worth your time.

However, we might be back for the Hit and Run show. It was funny and pretty clean.

Was a good night. Yet we'd read improv then attended a purely pre rehearsed night of stand up. So our party was a little confused.
Cal did a great job. Had people behind me "interpreting" what he was saying which i found rude & unnecessary if you opened up your ears & lost your arrogance you could hear him just fine.
This was a last minute choosing based on learning Mad Cap had closed permanently.
A portion of our part of 6 were happy. Some are just a little harder to please.

An amazing theater with awesome staff and awesome shows. The best part? You buy one ticket and it gets you in the WHOLE NIGHT. This is the only theater I've found that does this and it's great. I love this place!

My husband and I hired performers from RISE comedy to provide entertainment for our guests during our wedding reception. Hosting a wedding reception during the pandemic came with many challenges and we were very worried that our guests would be bored at the reception, since so many restrictions were in place for social distancing. Steve was awesome to work with. He was able to work within the budget that I had, and accommodated several changes along the way. More importantly, the private improv performance allowed our guests to be engaged during the reception while remaining socially distanced. We had a blast, many of our guests were impressed with this entertainment option. The two performers arrived early and were able to incorporate their observations from the guests, our slideshow, and our toasts to provide a highly personalized experience. I would absolutely work with them again in the future. Their performance at our reception made it so fun and memorable. Definitely recommend!

Great place! Owner is so sweet. A group of girls came in mid show and we're loud an obnoxious the whole time. Owner gave me a free pass to come back and offered to buy me a drink. Loved the shows and can't wait to come back!

Took a solo trip out to Denver and I love checking out improv/comedy shows. If you pay to get in an early show, your ticket is good for the whole night! Lots of different styles. You can tell the players really enjoy what they do.

Very disrespectful neighbors. It's directly next to my apartment building and there's another apartment building across the street. They make no attempts at sound proofing even though they are the only loud bar in the immediate area. Their karaoke sounds like awful wailing that wakes everyone in the building up. Now they've started spreading dirt around on their roof at the crack of dawn God knows why which also wakes everyone up. If they were a comedy club like I thought they'd fit into this neighborhood fine but they are more like a tiny cheap nightclub which belongs on Blake street, not in an area surrounded by restaurants and apartments.

Save your money!!!! My husband and I love comedy and couldn't wait to go but after forcing ourselves to sit there for 2 hours thinking it would eventually get funny, it never happened. We ended up walking out in the middle of the second show. They only charge you for one show so once you are in the rest are free... I now understand why. Everyone was very nice and friendly but the acts were not the least bit funny. So if your looking for something entertaining continue your search!

Went a few weeks ago with a group. Very dissapointed. Paid like $6 for a Jack and Coke and not sure what happened with Jack... A friend got a specialty drink and thankfully, she got alcohol in it. Seating in this place is terrible. They pack you in like a sardine and there is no place to put your drink. Seats don't even have arms.

The seating layout is really terrible. It isn 't stadium or graduated in any way. The stage is like 2' off the floor. So even at 6' 1", I couldn't see the actors when they were seated. So unless you are in the first three rows, good luck!!! They allow late comers to join at any time. Even 1/2 an hour into a performance.

The performance itself was okay. The actors really put effort into it. It was not enough to make up for the horrid layout. Really, this is just a money-maker for the owner. I'd stay at home nex time....

This place is amazing! The location and ambience are exactly what you're looking for when spending an evening in downtown Denver. I also recently rented out the venue for a private event, which is a service they offer when their schedule allows. The manager and staff were incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. I'll be back again and again!

This is a relatively small venue. The seats (chairs) and they pack them in pretty tight, so it's not terribly comfortable. If there is a show that you really want to see, I would recommend buying tickets as early as possible, as they go fast for the more popular groups.

The price is a little high but not exorbitant. Drinks are a bit pricey and the selection is not great.

However, the comedy is always top notch and the small and cramped nature of the venue adds an element of intimacy to the experience. And with good comedy it's easy to forget that your legs are cramping or your rear end is falling asleep.

The bathroom is a little inconvenient to access. You must go down a couple hallways and through password coded door to access. The password, at least, is simple and conveniently posted.

Even so, I would not recommend going to the bathroom during the show or getting drinks or generally leaving your seat. As mentioned the room is small and cramped and rows are for all intents and purposes non-existent save for the front row and one row between The front and back seating areas. The doors close during the show so that the room except for the stage is very dark. Anyone moving will tend to be quite evident to most everyone in their close proximity or the entire audience based on where they are seated. It distracts not only the audience but the performers, as the door must bev opened, which is noisy and allows light to enter the dark room.

Awful! Don't go to this dump. The comics were not funny, in fact extremely crude about women. I was shocked to see young children in there for' family environment ' they advertised new years with amateurs. I wanted to run over to them and plug their ears. Too much talk about crude dirty sex, over used weed comments, and offensive nonsense that wasn't funny even after a couple beers. That too me was not good comedy. Don't subject yourself.

As an improviser (who has improv-ed in many cities), I love the atmosphere and community at Voodoo. It has great opportunities to join classes, jam, do drop-ins, audition for teams, or put up your own show. Management, employees, and instructors work their butts off to keep it a supportive and creative space.

Went here with my 18 yo daughter. The first stand up show (which does say mature audiences only) was very crass, lots of language and we were only really impressed by one of the guys. The second show was improv and we found that one funnier. We would have stayed for a 3rd but we were tired so left. A couple of specifics: the house marg has pineapple juice in it and is delicious! Also, if you buy a ticket to the first show and you want to stay for all 3, you can, if there is seating. The people who bought the specific tickets to the specific show take priority. So if a lot of people come for the next show, you might have to leave. That is important to keep in mind for planning.

Pretty fun neighborhood comedy house! I've been here on dates, with visiting family, and with bachelorette parties. Small and intimate venue with reasonable prices for shows. There is also a bar here!
