Viva Restaurante Review

Very good Peruvian restaurant. Unassuming, and doesn't pretend to be fancy but still we got good service. The Ceviche was the best in Stamford/Norwalk area even though similar places exist. Does tend to get crowded but food quality is consistent. They do not have a separate lunch menu so it's dinner prices all the time. Be aware they did not seem to understand the concept of a drink refill. I asked if they offer refills and when they said yes, I asked my coke to be refilled. They charged me for every single time. They would not adjust for the mistake and we ended up paying $9 for coke!!. Also since they get hot near the kitchen, they will have the air conditioner to high and the farther you sit from the kitchen the colder. Sometimes uncomfortably, and irritatingly cold.

My daughter orders Lomo with no tomato and
I order chicharrones de pollo(comes with fries $10), but I wanted to substitute the french fries for tostones they told me $3 extra. When I asked to substitute for French fries put shredded lettuce they told me I could not do that. And when I asked for just the chicharrones (fried chicken chunks) they wanted to charge me like I was having the regular $10 meal. After 5 minutes of negotiation I was able to get my chicharron de pollo with NO FRIES , a small side of lettuce for the regular menu price of $10. AND IM FINE WITH THAT!! I ordered water my daughter ordered sprite.... THE WAITRESS STANDS THERE AND ASKED WHAT ELSE TO DRINK?

We drink an eat bead until our food comes...
Our cups are empty approx 5 mins... waitress walk to other table takes order an walk by us... I pick up cup she continues to walk. Waitor comes to other table I pick up cup he looks over the walks by....
I place cup on table after eating ice....
He comes over asked if everything was ok..... I told him we are thirsty.... he goes to get water. I tell him she had a sprite, how much for her to have another. He says $2... okay we will take it. They bring sprite. We finish our food, well 1 plate is half eaten, After 13 mins he bring the bill an says have a nice day. He checks another table, and brings water to another....
I stop him to request a to go plate....
He attempts to take the uneaten food I say no just bring the plate ive waited this long I can do it.....
I pay the bill an leave!

One of the best Peruvian restaurants in the State of Connecticut

One of our favorite restaurant. Right price for a very tasty food. The staff are very attentive & friendly. The place is always packed either dine-in or pick-up. We always keep coming back. Love their signature Aji and the red drink too . A must! They should make the place bigger.

Very good food and a place where you can enjoy a calm atmosphere and above all the service is immediate and the staff very friendly and trained

I live in stamford but i rather go el acurio restaurant in port Chester better food. Viva is getting worse rice is overcook french fries too that is a reason I'm not coming back again.

I just want to know if the owner of this place is still the same lady.
I used to work in this place years ago and she used to treat the employees really bad.
I got really bad memories about this place really sad

Great place to eat! The cuisine is of taste . A variety of food for different taste buds is on the horizon. The environment is friendly and the price is affordable. The staff is working wonders to sit customers and make them feel at home ! One might not have been to Peru : Viva is a great place to start having a taste of it's culture!
Viva Peruvian Restaurant: a great place to eat!

This is my favorite Peruvian restaurant. If you want authentic food come here. Trust me I m Peruvian! My favorite dish is the lomo saltado and their aji sauce is the best. They consistently have great food and service.

Excellent service. Food ok. Location not great. Parking lot. Large meal portions. Seems clean inside but outside the building looks grungy. Just beer and sangria (too sweet). Sister restaurant with Fiesta Restaurant in downtown Stamford and the location used to be another Fiesta Restaurant but as Viva Restaurant it's much cleaner inside the restaurant and much more organized and has better service. Not a dive but definitely not fancy place.

I always order the paella from here it s so delicious and the seafood is so fresh

Bad bad customer service. Ordered completely something else and was given something else which was old and left over. And charged more. Used to go a lot to this place, will not do the same mistake again. Lots of peruvian restaurants in stamford, good ones too. Goodbye rip-offs.

Perfect gin and tonic. Delicious baby spinach salad with candied walnuts and strawberry vinegret. Amazing salmon piccata. Fixed menu for restaurant week but great choices for an excellent value.

Try the Lomo Salteado, fantastic. Great Peruvian food. The restaurant was packed with people ordering to go or sitting down to eat in.
That says a lot about a business!

I love this place!! The food has GREAT flavor, staff is very friendly, and the pricea are awesome too.

worst customer service... got here as soon as they opened and they just seemed upset bout it... gave us cold bread told us the oven is slow... the food took over 30mins to get to us while the other customers coming after us got there food promptly.... even the fries where cold... but since we were there already and my daughter was starving i took the loss and gave her the ones that seemed warm... never coming back...
also there were about two-three flies circling the whole place...

It used to be my favorite restaurant in Stamford but the last 3 times that I have ordered it has been really bad. Rice over cook, and the sea food whas almost raw, and it didn't taste anything but good.

honestly I've been going here for years and the last few times I haven't gotten what I asked for when I ask for salad with no dressing it's still drunk stand dressing me and my kids want to eat their last week and at two people waiting on us the girl acted like she didn't want to wait on us for some reason she's more attentive to the other people that are eating in the place other than us. A little uncomfortable when I give them a lot of business for now on I will be going elsewhere to eat

Very good restaurant excellent food ... but it is clear that it is a restaurant and not a brothel where their customers are treated of love ... more respect please.

Great for TAKE OUT, the Tasteless Sangria had No Alcohol, the seating is bad and the overall atmosphere was a NO but the food is Yummy.

If I could give this terrible restaurant 0 stars I would. Today I ordered food and they gave it to someone else and when I got there they refused to make the food I ordered. Long story short, they have the worst customer service I have ever seen.

Wow I really cant get over this place. They changed the name recently, but also made it even better. The food is delicious. The service is awesome. The environment is friendly. So what are you waiting for!?

The best thing I have discovered is Peruvian food. Wow I have no words to describe how good their ceviche and fried seafood is. Their rice cooking method is similar to Chinese food but 100% better

This used to be Fiesta, the only thing that has changed is the seating.

I remember Fiesta and a marginal improvement on a good thing is never a bad thing.

Food is good, the portion is big. The place is cozy. But took so long to be served.

This place simply is the best restaurant that I have ever been to during the past years. The ahi sauce was the one of a kind. All the food i got here was just simply amazing - i could not stop eating. No many words are needed. Nothing is complex here. Just simply amazingly delicious! I am still craving what I had there: seafood fried rice, Peruvian lo mein noodles, and mussel app.

I have to give this place a two because of the crazy amount of high prices they have decided to rise... The food is good but if you want something even better then this with good prices then i would say go to fiesta downtown because there restaurant is BOMB and here they just lost there kick to food and the prices are just unbelievable ....

Excellent help was given for understanding the menu for first time visitors and we were made to feel welcome and appreciated as customers. Bring your appetite! The food is delicious and the portions are generous indeed. The staff is attentive and friendly without hovering. We took a chance on a road trip and now I will bookmark this address for future stops.

Low price meals that are very good. Make sure to request the sauce if you get take out.

Good food but there is a waitress that do not know nothing bout customer service after I wait more than 20 min waiting for a food I order 40 min ago he ignore me all the time taken order from the people that come after me. I'm totally pissed.

Nice, cozy place with family vibe. Huge portions, reasonable prices. Ceviche was authentic and had all the trimmings. Other dishes were quite delicious too.

We had the fish ceviche and the quantity is great for the price. Will definitely come back for more.
