Visiting nurses is terrible. If you want good care for your loved one, find another provider. Visiting shouldn't even be part of their name. Only 2 nursed on call after hours in the Atlanta area, which is 5 pm to 8 am.

This company really helped get my family through a very difficult time. There are a lot of hospice care options out there but I m so thankful we went with VNHS. So incredibly grateful for the nurses and other staff along the journey. Highly recommend

This company has to be one of the most poorly ran companies. Im a caregiver ( private not with visiting nurse) and I have never seen a healthcare company care so little for a patient. Since services have started you cant get a manager to call you back, Camilla and her supervisor show NO concern for their patients. Wound care with this company is not a priority! They do not send the supplies needed for your care and have even asked if the patient could purchase the needed supplies, which per the insurance company they are being paid to supply. Of course she has had to buy many supplies just so the nurse can do her job. Wound care orders have been changed (the wound care nurse did not see the patient, saw pictures and changed the orders)for over a month but the new supplies have never arrived. When we ask the nurse we are told the supplies have been ordered and not sure why they have not arrived and she ask Camilla. We have yet to be told what the hold up is. This has happened more than once. Everytime we have progress this company drops the ball and the patient pays the price with her health. The physical/occupational therapists have made appointments ( your schedule is not taken into consideration) then they never show up, and never bothered to call to let us know what happened or attempt to reschedule. This company should not be in business, much less be in the healthcare business. The patients well being is not a priority!

Visiting Nurse/Hospice Atlanta is a well run not for profit company who values both employees and patients. I have worked for other hospices which were for-profit, and as a hospice nurse I can tell you there is a difference! This NFP company supports their nurses and aides so that these personnel can go out into the field and deliver high quality care to patients who are at the ends of their lives and need so much! I read some of the criticism posted on Google and it simply isn't consistent with what I have seen and experienced at VNHA. It is always sad when a family does not have a positive hospice experience but remember it is a two way street and the company isn't at liberty due to HIPAA to tell their side of it publically. It is a pleasure to work for VNHA!

When we made the painful decision to move my father-in-law into hospice after complications from surgery, we didn t have much time to research the best hospice company. It all happened so fast. I wish we had, as our experience with Hospice Atlanta only made his death that much more painful.

He was released on a Friday afternoon and was home by 3pm. The pain meds did not arrive until 9pm that night which didn t help when he had pain around 6pm. We were told the pharmacy closed at 7pm and did their deliveries afterwards. Who sends a hospice patient home without pain meds? I will never understand how the meds weren t ordered as soon he was picked up so they would be available as soon as he needed them.

We were provided no guidance on how to best handle him like how to safely adjust him in bed or how to get him out of bed without hurting him or us. When we asked the nurse the next day, we were flippantly told to just do this and that as if it were easy for us to know. When we complained, one of the nurses told us we d get full-service care on Monday, but that weekends were tougher. It shocked us that death was treated as a Monday-Friday kind of business.

When we thought his end was near in early Sunday morning, the nurse left because her shift ended at 8am. When he did pass, I was put on hold for 5 minutes when I called to let them know and then it took a nurse almost 2 hours to arrive and declare his death. We were at a loss at lack of service and empathy. I would not recommend this service or their sister agency that provides CNAs. I can see now why their rating is so low.

Visiting Nurse and their staff simply rock the medical profession.

IN 2009 my heart, kidneys and lungs decided to go on vacation, and on top of that, I had a huge infected area they ultimately cut out. I was in the hospital for four months. When they finally sent me home, I had another home health care company who shall remain nameless, not to protect the innocent but because they have more lawyers than I do on retainer. To put it bluntly, they inhaled briskly. During their tenure I gave up any hope of ever seeing anything but the four walls of my room again.

Then, towards the end of 2012, I found myself back in the hospital, with new insurance, and they sent me home with a new home health care company: Visiting Nurse. The difference was incredible. Sandy, my nurse, was a master of her craft with deep and wide knowledge of nursing; she resolved issues that had been lingering since the 2009 timeframe. This was totally unlike the other guys, she connected with me and she cared about me, as an individual, not some number on a chart.

My Physical and Occupational Therapy teams were a game changer for me. In the first day meeting, I said I had been in this one room since 2009 and I never expected to see anything other than these four walls again. The PT team of Will and Nancy took that in stride, and told me they were getting me out of this room, and a few weeks later I rolled out in my new power wheelchair. This was incredible, being able to go to several rooms at will. The changed my life, and told me they thought I could stand and perhaps walk again. And that s where we are today, working on standing.

Visiting Nurse staffers are professional, empathetic, knowledgeable and expert at their jobs. They are welcome guests in my home, and excel in providing medical services in a challenging environment. They bring vision to see how things can be made better and then help their patients realize that vision; in my case getting out of my prison cell where I had spent the past four years. But most important thing is that they bring hope; they brought me hope of walking again, and I think it is now within my reach.

I would recommend Visiting Nurse without the slightest reservation to anyone. Again, they rock!

I've always thought highly of Visiting Nurse and now I get to experience their team first hand. From the clinicians and staff to the leadership team they foster a culture of excellence and compassion for the community they serve and each other. It's so refreshing to be apart of an organization that puts people over profit!

This company has a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde personality.

Dr. Jekyll: The clinical staff is excellent and well commended for their skills when my husband was recovering after surgery.

Mr. Hyde : Their billing staff is so woefully incompetent that I'm amazed they are still in business. We completed our brief time with this company and received our first bill. Paid. We thought our account was closed and we would part ways, satisfied with the clinical services. However, we received a collections statement concerning a bill we presumably did not pay. We called VNHS to rectify the situation. We were bounced around so many times within billing because they could not answer this simple question : "Were we sent an additional bill statement ?" After speaking to about four different people over a certain span of time ( measured in weeks), the manager finally called to tell me they did NOT send a bill statement. Their mistake. Oops! (We immediately paid the collections agency to ward off any potential impact on our immaculate credit scores. This was done prior to my talking to the manager. )

Manager was concerned if we had good clinical services. Rightfully so. I said yes. He immediately concluded that the clinical services more than made up for the billing error. Wow. I also asked for a copy of the mysteriously missing bill and was promised I would be sent one. This occurred around February 2017.

It hasn't arrived. Caveat emptor.

Update****March 2018: It took multiple missed calls ( on both sides ), voicemails, and one caring individual who would not put me on hold to ensure my concerns were addressed. Thank you to that one individual.

It took 10 minutes via email to receive a copy of the bill. Two days for the snail mail version.

You decide.

Visiting Nurse Health System leaves a lot to be desired. I am a patient of theirs. The service coordination is the worst. Their internal problems spill over to the patient care. I was supposed to be seen today by a nurse. He or she was supposed to come over and perform wound care. Because someone called in sick, I wasn't seen today. I was on the phone when they called to schedule the visit (11am) and when I called back (12pm), I was told they were short handed and they "moved on to the next patient" No one was available to see me today. Now I'm being told that maybe they can see me tomorrow but more than likely I'll have to wait to my next scheduled visit. I didn't think not seeing patients that they're getting paid to see was legal..

I only gave one star because of 1 of there nurses is Awesome. She is honest and really cares about people and her patients. This is a money hungry company that should not be in business!!! If you decide to go with their services; and then due to their lack of services provided, want to cancel with them; they will call APS and lie about any and everything. If you do decide to do business with them, please BEWARE!!!! Make sure you document everything even every single conversation no matter how small you have with them. I strongly suggest not even doing business with them as they are just an added headache and stress to what may be an already stressful situation. Please, if you really want the best care for your loved one(s), I urge you to do your research and go with a different company.

This is the WORST run business I have EVER dealt with!
They were supposed to call me the day I got out of the hospital; two days later, I had to call them and they were quite short with me on the phone, as if I was an inconvenience to them.
The nurses who were supposed to come out, I was told, were to call between the hours of 8-10 am. Once I didn t get a call until 4 (after I had called and left a message for the clinical supervisor) to tell me there was a scheduling glitch and someone would be out the next day. Also, the nurses have called me in the afternoon to tell me they are coming, as if I have nothing to do except sit around the house and wait for them!
The supplies they ordered for me were so NOT what they were supposed to be. Now I have random bandages that I can do nothing with. I told them about this and nothing was done about it, so I spent over $300 of my own money on supplies (they bill your insurance for supplies, so now I have to go through the hassle of telling my insurance company not to pay it).
I was supposed to see a nurse 3 times a week in the beginning; it s been over two weeks now I I have seen a nurse a TOTAL of three times.
The only positive thing I can say is that the nurses I have seen have been lovely. I ve only seen three though, as they don t know how to schedule.
I have dealt with other home heath companies and they have been wonderful. This business is just rotten.

Absolutely wonderful!!!! They helped me immensely with the care of my elderly mother. It's been such a relief to be able to have someone to depend on. The care is professional, with the goal to help me keep my mother at home. Words can not convey how grateful I am to everyone I dealt with in this institution, especially Ms. Osan, our last case worker. God bless you all!!!
