A very good welcome with efficient people! We are stranded in Hong Kong regarding the date of expiry of my son's passport ... we can not continue to Bali. We had kind and understanding people. New passport in 3 working days! Thank you so much !!!

You can ring them a hundred time, they won't pick-up the phone. They even pick-up the call and just hang-up. They don't manage emails properly (you get a response then no more reply). I don't know if they expect people to walk to the French consulate to ask their question?
All in all, a mirror of the French administration, bad service. You wonder why French pay so much taxes.
The worst thing is that these guys have bad reviews but don't take any action. In a nutshell, on s'en tape!
Why the Asian lady working over the counter haven t been fired yet ? The lady was RUDE. I visited the visa center twice and totally wasted the time I spent there. She totally failed working in a service agency that represents France.
Today I find there's no Asia lady any more, maybe fired?. My visa application is all right. The guy at front of me is declined because of no tickets. I suggest to buy tickets first then go for the visa. Only holding iternary seems not enough.
Always inaccurate and illogical. Every info, I checked in advance via email correpondances and pre-approved but once I visited their counter to submit doc, staffs told me a different story and what was confirmed in the email was a mistake. I ended up wasting quite a money for flights etc as they won't consider compensating for their mistake nor say sorry. They also chitchatted in French and laughed at me when I actually understand French.. very unprofessional. I thought of writing to Mr Eric Berti directly as the whole fact checking was taking too long, and different staffs said different things which makes it very difficult to action on as a counter appointment can be made online once every 10 days or so. But at the end I decided not to as it could be cultural. Most of receptionists had a bad attitude except one Asian French lady who was relatively more apologetic for the whole thing. I hope I'm the only one who ever have to experience this mess.
Bad service! The Hong Kong receptionnist who does not want to work. I asked for information on the residence card and the declaration of French nationality by marriage. He answered me "it's not immigration and look in the site". What a reception!
I printed out the document list after making an appointment where they did not say anything about flight tickets. They denied my application by offering a new list of documents on site that I don,t have access from nowhere. Why does it have to be this dramatic and annoying? And they further denied my application to provide the documents, the flight tickets, upon the date I collect my visa. In a word, literaly, they threw a new list at my face and asked me to book a new appointment. WTF?! Totally a watse of time and transport fee.
Take one hour trip to be "on time" in an appointment with the staff, and then they said: "give me your email, we will email you to ask for supported documents". Meanwhile my email and phone call are clearly defined in my application (printed one, not writing). Really impressive!!!
It should be the most Rude embassy I have encountered, there is no one. The first is that the Asian woman who handles the document has a very bad attitude, even saying "fix your trip, before you come here". The embassy stated that it was possible to retrieve the passport every day from 16: 00-16: 30, but the door was not opened after two trips according to the above time. Calling and emailing the embassy, they said that they open the door every day, which is unreasonable.
Services more expansive than in France while we keep the administration disagrements to access (months before for an appointment, passeport pick only working hour morning). They could have taken example from the local administration
It's a pitty that for such a beautiful country and culture, France has such a rude Asian Lady receptionist to give first impression of France. It''s a total disgrace and shame as this lady receptionist is not only imcompetent but also rude to people. I wonder how she got her job.
Super efficient staff who have nothing to do with the quality of service provided generally by other administrations. The staff is friendly, efficient and especially good times. They do not invent new steps to avoid processing your request. Too bad this quality of service is not provided in the other French consulates.
The guard that is not a french national/ chinese, is very RUDE!!!!!!!! I dont know how they employ people with no breeding! Considering France is a very courteous country why do u have employees with this kind of attitude!
I did my passport for my son. It takes some times to book an appointment online as they are quite busy but they did the job well and the service was good.
I'm French and been there few times for administrative requests. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. I saw bad comments about an Asian lady but I guess it's a different section of the consulate as I have never seem one working there.
Worst experience ever. I had heard negative feedbacks but i refused to believe it until i experienced myself today 13th/09 at 10:40am. I understand that Customers are Not always Right & i agree i was missing some Documents but the asian receptionist lady working there was totally disgraceful, unprofessional & rude but 1 positive thing was the Security guard was very Polite & helpful. She totally have ZERO idea regarding Customer service. I am suprised by how she could work there & represent such a prestigious & esteemed organization. Totally disappointed & hope the related department head will look into this matter & follow up.
A shame for our country! The guard at the entrance (who do not speak a word of French by the way) has been very agressive toward us without any apparent reason! We felt being more in a jail than a consulat.
I do hope someone will take an appropriate action and that everyone will report such unacceptable experience. Definitively this guy is not properly representing our great country.
I am trying to find the consul contact to report that shameful degrading experience.
A very disorganised consulate with incredibly unhelpful staff. I rang and visited the consulate for multiple times, it is not an individual unfortunate incident.
Website: The website provide inaccurate and incomplete information on visa/status application. I would suggest that they hire a professional translator as the English and French versions of their website provide different information on critical matters. The French one is more comprehensive but still not complete.
Staff : The staff really don t know their day to day stuff. I called the consulate to check the photo dimension I need before I go to the shop, took those photos with me to the visa counter and I was told I have got the wrong size. When I asked for the correct dimension, the staff told me she doesnt know and asked me to go to photomax and they will know. Btw,the photo size info is not listed online.
Phone : they rarely pick it up and if they do, they ask you you to go check the website where the info is nowhere to be found. The operator is always very impatient and unhelpful.
I wish I would have read this review section earlier today and then never would have visited this particular embassy but tried with a different embassy for my schengen visa. The customer service from the Asian lady was utterly horrible.. she was mocking my leave letter which was very annoying as a customer for me. If something is not right you tell the customer and not discuss amongst yourself in French and make fun of it!!! And its just not me she made faces at the applicant (probably a student)before me and even shouted at her.Wish that Asian lady loses her job. But this is the last time I am applying in French embassy for sure can't give my hard earned money to ppl who don't value their customers.
