Relaxed stay in quiet area of LP town. Hotel has accomodation in traditional and younger houses grouped around central area with reception, dining hall, swimmingpool & bar.
Comfort of rooms differ due to age of buildings involved. Interior decoration stylish Laotian / French. Friendly, accomodating staff. Downtown LP is 10 minute walk away!
A home away from home!

The hotel is located in a quiet area near the Nam Khan River, the center is easily accessible on foot. The hotel complex consists of several two-story apartment buildings, the large rooms are comfortably furnished and clean. In the beautifully maintained garden there is a small swimming pool. The breakfast buffet is extensive, with good bread, homemade jam, fresh fruits and fruit juices, etc. The food in the restaurant tastes excellent. The staff is very friendly.

Beautiful little hotel near the city center ..
The rooms are very clean, excellent bedding and the dining room in the middle of a beautiful garden.
Quiet, very nice pool and extremely charming staff, helpful delicate and friendly .. a pure happiness !!!

Lovely place, would happily return. Biggest downside was the breakfast, I would suggest going out for breakfast.

The onsite masseuse is amazing, definitely get a massage. There is only one lady (which is a surprise since they advertise her services everywhere) so make sure to book.

Not the most convenient location, but only a 10-15 min walk to the main area.

We went for a budget room which didn't have a TV. Not a problem for us but it is something I wouldn't normally check, you just presume all hotel rooms (especially at this price) have TVs, so if a TV is important to you, make sure to check your room type.

Beautiful place to stay. Great value. Beautiful GREEN TILED swimming pool. Location is a bit far but the staff (Kao by the pool is a great bloke) room and amenities make it worth it.
Would definitely return.

Incredibly nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The daily cocktail happy hour 1600-1800 is a truly good deal. All the cocktails are nicely crafted, but the pina colada is truly exceptional. The breakfast is also very good and very large. Would absolutely stay again.

This place as marvelous. We got a great rate on our room because it is slow season there, and it was so great. A bath tub in the room, a pool, great breakfast (the buffet is the best!) and the staff was super friendly.

Positive and friendly welcome.A quiet location in a central spot, next to a Buddhist temple and a riverside of the river Mekong.Poly romantic feeling as if you are in the jungle! The room clean and large with wooden floors. Also bathroom bicycles were used, although the bicycles were in a very bad condition, almost dangerous.metric wifi.white beautiful - with very intense chlorine odor.
Negative wooden floors are rubbing loudly. Brush towels, dirty sheets and quilts. Reusable and brominated sandwiches, which are dangerous to fungi. There is a great deal of problems in the water pressure and in the temperature (permanently frozen) in the bath. Very poor breakfast in the hotel very expensive, very poor in flavor and variety and without choice - only one choice did you have. For massage service there was only one person with whom you did not pretend to check in. If you wanted a couple massage, there was no the possibility.

This accommodation has its historical value, which is awarded by UNESCO. This hotel is built in traditional colonial architecture. The whole hotel is made of wood. The rooms are different and some rooms have a terrace. The hotel complex consists of several buildings. For accommodation in Luang Prabang it is almost ideal place when you are looking for a hotel in a quiet location with a swimming pool. There are also nice hotels on the shores of Mekong, but they do not have a pool. The pool is not heated, but it doesn't matter. Breakfast is a bit French. It's nice to have fresh pineapple or mango fresh for breakfast. The poolside bar also offers refreshments. Great are tuna sandwiches or fried Maydou chicken. I would definitely recommend the hotel to buy a new and good quality espresso and make a good espresso. (I'd like SAFFRON or SINOUK coffee) Certainly the change would pay off.

Wonderful hotel. Location is very convenient, as it's very close to almost everything. It's in one of the main streets but it's off the road which means it's quite peaceful. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Breakfast is full of local products, which makes it very yummy and with a great selection. Staff is very helpful, especially the manager. Thanks Saita!

Unforgettable stay in this hotel where we were greeted with a smile.
At our request a tuk tuk was waiting for us at the airport, 10 minutes later we were at the hotel.
Hotel hidden in lush greenery.
Breakfast with homemade products (mango and tamarind jams).
I highly recommend

Well located very close to the historic center, Villa Maydou allows you to walk around LP at any time, without the inconvenience of traffic noise. Excellent breakfast and good restaurant. Very attentive staff ..

I highly recommend this establishment where we stayed for 1 week.
Clean room, nice pool, welcoming management and staff all in a peaceful atmosphere.
Exquisite restaurant where you can find homemade dishes, both local and western.
An establishment that remains up to its reputation even during this difficult period of Covid.
The good point: the rich and varied breakfast.

Very charming little hotel built in traditional wooden Luang Prabang style. Cheapest rooms no TV, instead you get a sitting room. This is the room our friends stayed in.

We booked one of the larger deluxe rooms. Everything was perfect until...the air-conditioning stopped working properly. It was making a rustling sound and turns out there was ice inside.

We sought a room change but the manager (a western lady) never followed through on it. However, we only spent a couple of nights here and everything else was fine. Breakfast was a simple affair, nothing outstanding but not bad. Just tea/coffee, assorted bread and pastries and fruit. Pool was a nice touch seeing we were here for the Pii Mai celebrations in mid-April.

Parking is rarely a consideration for tourists coming to Luang Prabang but as we came by car we needed it. Few LP hotels feature dedicated parking for guests, it's almost always on-street parking but when staying at this hotel you park inside the nearby Wat (temple).

Welcome with French presentation of the hotel by Saita. Charming hotel located 15-20 minutes walk from the city center. The rooms in the 1925 heritage building are large with nice bathroom. Good breakfast.
The hotel is located next to a small temple, it is possible in the morning around 4 o'clock or in the evening around 6 pm to attend the prayer of the monks.

Charming, helpful staff. Decent breakfast. I had one meal: fried spring rolls and fish larb, both were outstanding, but if you want to explore Laotian cuisine fully, you will go to other places (see my review of Fusion, just down the road). The rooms are spacious, the beds are firm but comfortable. The green tiled swimming pool ends an afternoon of exploration in the heat. Villa Maydou is a verdant compound off the main road. Quiet, secure, private. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I stayed here four days and was upgraded from the Heritage Room to a room off the pool. When I realized the Boun Lai Heua Fai Festival was coming up, I canceled my flight and moved back into my room for two more nights. Could not be happier. The WiFi can be slow in the room, but there is a strong signal if you are on your patio or in the common ares. Villa Maydou is a great place for down time at the end of a hectic day, a stunning beautiful spot from which to enjoy Luang Prabang. I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN. And if you aren here in October for the Boun Lai Heua Fai Festival, all the better.

It looks like a two-storey mansion from the French colonial era converted to a hotel specification. The interior decoration of the room retains the atmosphere of the time and gives a sense of history. Meals are taken on the open terrace in a corner of the courtyard. The staff were friendly, friendly and very good. The food was delicious with a French based dish I liked the local fruit salad and stayed for 3 nights but the staff came to ask me if there was anything I wanted. The hotel is a little bit off the road and quiet. There was a temple in the immediate vicinity and went before breakfast. It is a small hotel, but I like it. I want to use it again. There is also a shopping mall on the way within walking distance to the Royal Palace, temples and city centre.

Magnificent charming hotel, full of character, nestled in the heart of a very pretty garden. Ideal location, close to the city center. Buffet breakfast at the top with exclusively fresh and homemade products. The staff are attentive and always very cheerful. We can't wait to come back next year. Thank you Villa Maydou!

My family and I enjoyed all aspects of our stay at Villa Maydou. The staff is friendly and tended to all our needs. We were concerned about staying in historic buildings, but everything was maintained. The included breakfast was tasty. The location is close enough to the sites, yet still relaxing and quiet. As for the rooms and grounds, the pool, bar, and greenry make it easy to just want to stay and enjoy the hotel. It might be higher priced, but it is was worth it. The rooms are spacious and include a bathtub. We stayed five nights and all days were pleasant. If we come back, we will definitely stay here again.

Positive and eco friendly hotel.

Definitively recommend this hotel for staying in Luang Prabang. Very nice and comfortable rooms, large enough. The overall atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. Great care is taken for the green areas. There is a pool, breakfast is taken on a terrace outside and there is the possibility to have massage. Staff is very friendly and helpful. 15 min walking distance to downtown. We enjoyed very much our stay there!
