Nice staff but old, dingey and overpriced - We booked this place based on the good reviews and because our usual spot was full. I must say the staff was really nice in all my interactions with them. But this hotel was *unbelievably* overpriced. First off the whole place reeked of industrial sanitizer. A week later my clothes still smell like that. The room was old and broken down as you can see in the pics. When we walked into our room the soap from the previous guests was still in the shower. There was a buzzing sound in the room which the staff told us was the fridge but once we unplugged the fridge we were told they could move us but they never followed up. Then on the first day housekeeping didn't come. When they did come they refused to make the second bed because it had some clothes on it. I've stayed at countless hotels and this has never been an issue. They also refused to replace the 2 complimentary water bottles we received. Again a first. When I brought it up to the staff they told us it was policy to charge for extra water bottles. It wasn't about the money obviously but the service. The only positive were the beach chairs and towels. But will not be staying again.

Was looking forward to this vacation picked this spot because of the good reviews I had seen. However, my experience with Villa Italia and the staff was nothing good to write about. They did not give me the room I had reserved and paid for online a week in advance. The women working behind the desk who checked me in said she would switch me the next day, shame I listened I should have said no, I was never given the correct room even after going and asking the following day. Would not recommend this place.

This was a family trip and my son loved this place, it is a very quiet family place, the people are very kind and caring, we had a great experience and we were comfortable with our stay. My child enjoyed the toys for the beach. They have umbrellas and chairs for the beach and it's lovely Miami Beach

Editing to respond to the extremely unprofessional...

Editing to respond to the extremely unprofessional comment from the owner (and to deduct the extra star they were holding onto until now): as you all can see, he is CONTINUING to argue with the customer, and accuse us of lying. Let me be clear: We. Did. Not. Use. The. Minibar. We didn't drink any water, soda, alcohol, or anything else from the refrigerator because there was NOTHING in there except for a can of regular coke and Monster, neither of which either of us drink. In fact, we put our own groceries in the refrigerator because there was so much room for other items. Our fridge was not stocked, and based on these reviews it appears we are not the only customers who they have attempted to charge weeks after checking out. You can see the owners of this establishment will call you a liar and refuse to own up to their own mistakes. We pay for services we USE, not for things we are accused of using because the hotel staff failed to stock the bar. Here are other things they failed to do, by the way: give us more than one room key for two guests, give us a towel for the bathroom floor to avoid getting water all over the shower, give us sheets that were not stained, shall I continue?

Original post TLDR: We stayed at this hotel, was pleasant until we got home to a $32 charge for the minibar. We weren't even aware there was a minibar option, considering there were two loose cans in the refrigerator that we thought were left by the previous guests. When we called to explain that we did not drink anything from the room, the owner argued with my boyfriend, called us liars (which is now documented in writing in the below comment) and said the only thing we could do was dispute the charge on our credit card. Non-existent customer service. Don't stay here unless you want mysterious charges popping up on your card weeks after your stay.

Hotel is located right off the beach, in a quiet location. Room was well cleaned as I could smell the cleaning products upon entering. Bed very comfortable. I was visiting alone and the front desk lady gave me suggestions on things to do and places to eat. By far the best hotel I ve stayed in at south beach.

Such a gem of a hotel. My family of 4 plus our puppy all enjoyed every minute of our stay. Jairo was on top of making sure our stay was perfect. The woman working on Monday 3/15 was extremely helpful in accommodating us on our short notice trip. Short walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Will look to stay here again soon as we have fallen in love with Miami.

Great hide away gem in the most desirable area in Miami Beach. You will be able to valet your car, relax at the beach, eat at the most exclusive restaurants on the beach, come back to the Hotel and sleep deeply. The building has 12 rooms and one villa, no crazy guest traffic that won t let you sleep. Love it! Staff will go above and beyond to make you feel like home away from home .

Booked two rooms for one night a few months ago. One room I booked on Expedia the other room I booked directly on their website for a family member. At the time of my booking the daily resort fee was $25, which was clearly written on my confirmation. At arrival the hotel staff tried to charge a $40 resort fee and argued that their prices had increased since I had booked but had not yet been updated online. After some persuasion the front desk acquiesced and charged the original $25 resort fee. Wasn't impressed that the staff tried to change the resort price on an established booking, especially since the $40 price is nowhere to be seen online. Valet parking Is $43 after tax, and it takes the hotel 20-25 minutes to get your vehicle.
The beds are hard, and the area is noisy.
Stocked mini fridge in the room has drinks, but beware the can of Dr. Pepper in the fridge is $4. We didn't drink anything.
We definitely won't stay here again, but it served it's purpose since we were just passing through Miami to drive to Key West. I am sure there are nicer places to stay within the area for the prices this hotel charges.

Wouldn t recommend this place to anyone I care about. When we got there, they had given us the wrong room because the other room wasn t ready but promised to get us switched out as soon as possible. Not only did they never give us the correct room, we were told that the bathroom door that wouldn t close and a leaking fridge weren t really issues . A member of the cleaning crew walked into our room at nine in the morning without any sort of warning or knock. I definitely wouldn t consider this a pleasant stay. The main reason for this review is because we booked based on seeing decent reviews and this villa was not as advertised at all.
