I was only at the bar. Bar tender was incredibly friendly. Made good suggestions based on my wine preferences. Nice atmosphere, will try the food next time I'm in town.

DELICIOUS. Beautiful, tasteful, excellent food and service, local, inventive
Really nice wine selection, though as far as food goes it's very expensive and not accommodating to many diets.
Varied menu, variety of drinks, excellent service, great atmosphere.
Food was good, price ant to bad, chicken and waffles was very good.very well worth trying..
Beautiful and very tasty food. Great staff. Can't wait to bring the family back.
Staff was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable!! Food was excellent!
The truffle fries were too oil soaked and not crispy. They tasted good, but lacked the qualities that would make them outstanding. The pork cheeks were fine, nothing special and the Jambalaya was good as well. Unfortunately the apple pie deserr we ordered took longer than the meal to arrive, although we received our coffee and tea immediately. We politely asked the waiter to box the slice to go.
Very nice lunch.
Enjoyed my tomato pie.
Met a server through a friend and had to try this place. Was welcomed into the establishment with to a savory modern esthetic, a beautiful bar, and wonderful service. I ordered a bottle of James Mitchell, a half dozen raw oysters (a bold move for the High Country), a Vidalia #4, and the chicken and dumplings. The wine and the oysters were great, but the cocktail and the entree were divine. Such a unique take on a southern classic, the dumplings were small and stiff, the accompanying Romano cheese brought a sharp edge to the dish which rounded it off splendidly. The cracked pepper of the drink spiked my interest and brought the heat. I had a wonderful time, Collin and Tyler are amazing staff, the kitchen puts in work, I highly recommend.
Excellent service and meal. Will definitely return.
I'm a real foodie. I was astonished how good the food was in this small town. The chef really cares and it shows. I'm lactose intolerant but they are always accomadating. The complaints about the staff are ridiculous. Yes college kids but they are always nice. Last time we were in town we are there 4 out of five nights. If you are near this place and want to eat at a place where they care about the quality of the food go! The salads are large and delicious. Never had a bad meal there. Last night had the catfish and it was DELICIOUS!
Jordan went above & beyond to make sure my allergies were accommodated & as a result my meal was perfect! The whitefin tuna was amazing! I will definitely go back.
I enjoyed everything except for the homestyle potato chips.
Fun night. My Salmon was fantastic. My honey had jambalaya.
This is my second visit to Vidalia. Had the chicken and waffles. Delicious! Didn't really need a reservation, but I hear normally you do.
One of the best restaurants in Boone, and our favorite. While a local foods, casual, fine dining restaurant, their burgers are the best I have experienced. Owners, and staff are friendly, service excellent.
We enjoyed our dinner s
so much. It was our first time. Would e
ENCOURAGE ANY ONE TO DINE THERE.
Loved the quiet space for a chicken-and-waffles lunch date before remodel. The new digs are impressive, changing the vibe from cozy to swanky. Menu is regional, chef is award winning.
It seems this is referred by many as a good restaurant to try in Boone but unfortunately we were not very impressed when we visited. The service was average, at best, and the over all entrees were simply not all that special. We may try again in the future since it does have pretty good references but not at the top of our list.
The food here is great! It is the perfect mix between a artsy food restaurant and regular food. The portions were great and everything tasted fresh. The only down side was the service was a little slow, but other than that I can't complain!
Best place to eat in Boone, NC. Straight up. No cap.
One of my favorite spots! Either just for drinks, for a late lunch or for dinner. Their Bar Menu...SO GOOD! Try the tacos, they're some of the best in town!
I eat hear a good deal. Normally around three times a month. My first date with my husband was even here! I take anyone from out of town here. I was super excited to get food to go this weekend and support a local place to eat. Two of the orders for dinner were the same. All of the food was eaten in the containers that the food was given in with the forks provided. We drank diet coke out of a can (no ice) that came from our home. We had consumed other sodas from the same box so the drinks were not the issue. I had not eaten anything else that day and the other person had only eaten a bagel around 6:30 AM. After dinner we became violently ill. The other person was so sick they were choking on vomit and stopped breathing.
I emailed using the Vidalia website (you enter your information and press send) the next day (but the timeline was a little fuzzy because I was sick) to let them know. I did not hear from them. Maybe the website was not working (they said they had not heard from me and I believe they must have had some kind of issue on the website.) Today I went to the Health Department to report what happened and then contacted Vidalia via Facebook.
Vidalia stated they appreciated me letting them know and they would work with the Health Department. While this is great, it is far, far from an "I am sorry." Honestly, that is what it felt like the situation needed (or even, "shucks, I am sorry you had to deal with that. Let me contact the Health Department.") I am not sure if it was/ is a liability issue, but I was grossly underwhelmed with how they dealt with it. I stated this and they said thank you for letting them know again and that was what they were advised to say. So I am pretty unhappy. I would have walked away fairly content with a "so sorry," thinking it was just poor luck and sometimes shrimp are bad, but now I think that as well as they do not care about service or common decency.
There were 13 of us and we all had fabulous meals! Excellent service!
Nice meal. Good food, great service and delicious wine. Quite a noisy room.
The best food I have ever eaten! Everyone was very friendly and helpful! The waiter described the meals very well and went over all the specials in detail.
Had the special of Scallop Carbonara and it was everything I needed! Great portions for the price.
I got the pimento ravioli and it was spectacular! Would deffinatly come again!
Oh My God!!!
I do even know where to start. Presentation and staff was excellent. Appetizers (Caprsese Heirloom Tomato Salad) was Amazing. Our Entree was simply to die for. I've ate at a lot of high end culinary establishments. But this is a entirely different category of excellence. Wow 7 Stars of Yum.
Do it. It's very reasonably priced. With fresh great Taste.
First time to dine here Excellent food and service. I had the Pot Roast that you could cut with a fork. Very tender and delicious. The wife had the special of the night shrimp which were excellent. The friends we were with had the meat loaf that was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Pork belly was delicious. Wine was delicious. No complaints. Would go back.
Wonderful food using as many locally sourced foods as possible. The atmosphere is great for a date or a meal with your family. A go-to for one of the best restaurants in Boone.
The atmosphere is really great, the staff is very friendly, and the food selection is really good. The only complaint we had was that the portion sizes were a little small for the price. We don't tend to eat at restaurants of this price range, however, so it might be standard. That was our experience though. Overall, it was a good meal, though!
Loved the service and food, unfortunately we weren't told about the specials that night and didn't see the special menu until our waitress took them from our table so we weren't aware we could have ordered something else. The hostess should have told us it was on the table already and we would have looked. The place is not as upscale as advertised but the food and service was good.
My wife and I love this place - definitely our favorite Boone restaurant!
My nephew took us here when we visited the area as this is his favorite restaurant in Boone. We had onion rings and mussels as appetizers which were excellent (although the mussel sauce was a bit plain). My meal (a daily special of salmon) was excellent. My wife also really enjoyed her beet salad. My nephew had the shrimp and grits which he enjoyed. The service and ambience were excellent. Sorry it will be a long time to go back.
Great food and terrific service. Convenient and walkable with downtown Boone.
Great food, and friendly staff made for a wonderful dinner experience. We will visit here again and again !
They welcomed us for brunch on a crowded holiday Saturday, even though we were very casual and with kids. Friendly and helpful service and the "chicken stack" on the brunch menu is still giving me cravings. Great food, great service.
We really enjoyed the food at Vidalia. We had a reservation so when we got there we were seated immediately. The staff was friendly and the food was great.
Seriously the best burger I've ever had. Really good place.
Such an awesome place. Great food, awesome specials and a great staff
Every mouthful was delicious! And really, the food is always that way. Their produce and other ingredients are top quality and each meal is carefully conceived and prepared. You will not be disappointed!
Great local restaurant. The menu selection is diverse and there is something for everyone. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
By far the best meal we've had since being here! Jackie had the chicken and waffles, I had the cubino both and we shared the banana pudding for dessert. All were absolutely AMAZING! It's a gotta try if you're in the Boone area!
Amazing food, amazing service. Will make sure to eat here any time I'm in town
The managers there are honestly not the nicest they think they are the bosses i mean they think they own the place. Never ever ever going there again I will let my friends here in in Boone know. To stay away the help there is great just needs different management thays all.
Excellent turnup greens chicken and waffles and all. So so satisfying!
We love the food. Everything is fresh. Unique dishes. Great flavors.
A very delicious meal. From soup to salad to entree we thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our meals. The Beet Soup was absolutely the best I have ever had but all the meal was excellent. Would easily recommend the restaurant and will definitely return again. It is a bit pricey but not at all overpriced for the quality of the food and service.
We got there right at 5. Stay out of Raven s way when she is opening haha! She was great though.
Alice is great behind the bar. We met some great folks there.
We started with two apps before our entree but they filled us up so we never got past the apps. Mussels are highly recommended. Comes with toasted bread that is perfect in the sauce once you get the shells out of the way.
The pork belly steam buns were good. The pork belly and sauce was perfect but the buns were not what you would get in a fine Korean establishment. A little dry and firm.
Had the Visalia mule which hits the spot if you like spicy ginger beer.
Will be back!
I ve never heard of you guys until my roommate bought it for me. I got the Vidalia Burger, it was hands down the best burger I ve ever had by a land slide! Five stars, highly recommend, some of the best food I ve ever had!
We get to eat out a lot and this was a home run in Boone on a weekend trip. Fantastic food.
Rolled into Boone with my wife, hungry and irritated from the long drive from Atlanta. Happened along this place and stopped in, hoping it would suffice. Well, it did way more than that. We were blown away. Pulled pork plate for the lady, chicken and waffles for me. Both plates, and the salad we got beforehand, were nothing short of excellent. We're used to some top-notch food when we go out, and this was every bit as good as what we'd expect from a highly reviewed spot in Atlanta. I never order chicken and waffles, and after today, I probably won't ever again. It will just be irritating in comparison. On top of it all, they pour a generous wine glass. I appreciate that. Don't go any further. This spot will please.
Really cool spot. The strawberries and ham app was so good. I would go back for sure.
Great place and great service!! Visiting here from MO. Had the best server! Very friendly atmosphere
Service was great as well as the food. Can be quite noisy with big groups. Overall definitely recommend.
We had an excellent dinner here--the ambiance was perfect, the food delicious, and our server was extremely professional. The falafel entree was good, but the chicken and waffle dish was notably good, as well as the wedge salad of all things. My husband was not looking forward to the collard greens that came with his dish, and ended up loving them. My favorite item of the night was the prickly pear mojito, which I highly recommend. Food was great and we were well taken care of--highly recommend.
Meatloaf is the best meal. Wine special and outside seating make for a great night.
Food was very good, as was the ambiance. We especially loved the Bloody Mary's
Good food and the bartender was great. Person seating people could use a big dose of friendly with a side of politeness. Other than that it was good.
The absolute best high end food you will eat in the high country no question. I absolutely do not understand how they do it. It is our favorite spot for birthdays or business lunches. Lunch is a very friendly 'popping' atmosphere while dinner is a quiet personal affair with great wine selection.
Nice gem that is off the beaten path. The meatloaf is fabulous and the truffle fries are a must.
