The truffle fries were too oil soaked and not crispy. They tasted good, but lacked the qualities that would make them outstanding. The pork cheeks were fine, nothing special and the Jambalaya was good as well. Unfortunately the apple pie deserr we ordered took longer than the meal to arrive, although we received our coffee and tea immediately. We politely asked the waiter to box the slice to go.

Met a server through a friend and had to try this place. Was welcomed into the establishment with to a savory modern esthetic, a beautiful bar, and wonderful service. I ordered a bottle of James Mitchell, a half dozen raw oysters (a bold move for the High Country), a Vidalia #4, and the chicken and dumplings. The wine and the oysters were great, but the cocktail and the entree were divine. Such a unique take on a southern classic, the dumplings were small and stiff, the accompanying Romano cheese brought a sharp edge to the dish which rounded it off splendidly. The cracked pepper of the drink spiked my interest and brought the heat. I had a wonderful time, Collin and Tyler are amazing staff, the kitchen puts in work, I highly recommend.

I'm a real foodie. I was astonished how good the food was in this small town. The chef really cares and it shows. I'm lactose intolerant but they are always accomadating. The complaints about the staff are ridiculous. Yes college kids but they are always nice. Last time we were in town we are there 4 out of five nights. If you are near this place and want to eat at a place where they care about the quality of the food go! The salads are large and delicious. Never had a bad meal there. Last night had the catfish and it was DELICIOUS!

One of the best restaurants in Boone, and our favorite. While a local foods, casual, fine dining restaurant, their burgers are the best I have experienced. Owners, and staff are friendly, service excellent.

It seems this is referred by many as a good restaurant to try in Boone but unfortunately we were not very impressed when we visited. The service was average, at best, and the over all entrees were simply not all that special. We may try again in the future since it does have pretty good references but not at the top of our list.

The food here is great! It is the perfect mix between a artsy food restaurant and regular food. The portions were great and everything tasted fresh. The only down side was the service was a little slow, but other than that I can't complain!

I eat hear a good deal. Normally around three times a month. My first date with my husband was even here! I take anyone from out of town here. I was super excited to get food to go this weekend and support a local place to eat. Two of the orders for dinner were the same. All of the food was eaten in the containers that the food was given in with the forks provided. We drank diet coke out of a can (no ice) that came from our home. We had consumed other sodas from the same box so the drinks were not the issue. I had not eaten anything else that day and the other person had only eaten a bagel around 6:30 AM. After dinner we became violently ill. The other person was so sick they were choking on vomit and stopped breathing.

I emailed using the Vidalia website (you enter your information and press send) the next day (but the timeline was a little fuzzy because I was sick) to let them know. I did not hear from them. Maybe the website was not working (they said they had not heard from me and I believe they must have had some kind of issue on the website.) Today I went to the Health Department to report what happened and then contacted Vidalia via Facebook.

Vidalia stated they appreciated me letting them know and they would work with the Health Department. While this is great, it is far, far from an "I am sorry." Honestly, that is what it felt like the situation needed (or even, "shucks, I am sorry you had to deal with that. Let me contact the Health Department.") I am not sure if it was/ is a liability issue, but I was grossly underwhelmed with how they dealt with it. I stated this and they said thank you for letting them know again and that was what they were advised to say. So I am pretty unhappy. I would have walked away fairly content with a "so sorry," thinking it was just poor luck and sometimes shrimp are bad, but now I think that as well as they do not care about service or common decency.

Oh My God!!!

Oh My God!!!
I do even know where to start. Presentation and staff was excellent. Appetizers (Caprsese Heirloom Tomato Salad) was Amazing. Our Entree was simply to die for. I've ate at a lot of high end culinary establishments. But this is a entirely different category of excellence. Wow 7 Stars of Yum.

Do it. It's very reasonably priced. With fresh great Taste.

First time to dine here Excellent food and service. I had the Pot Roast that you could cut with a fork. Very tender and delicious. The wife had the special of the night shrimp which were excellent. The friends we were with had the meat loaf that was outstanding. Highly recommend.

The atmosphere is really great, the staff is very friendly, and the food selection is really good. The only complaint we had was that the portion sizes were a little small for the price. We don't tend to eat at restaurants of this price range, however, so it might be standard. That was our experience though. Overall, it was a good meal, though!

Loved the service and food, unfortunately we weren't told about the specials that night and didn't see the special menu until our waitress took them from our table so we weren't aware we could have ordered something else. The hostess should have told us it was on the table already and we would have looked. The place is not as upscale as advertised but the food and service was good.

My nephew took us here when we visited the area as this is his favorite restaurant in Boone. We had onion rings and mussels as appetizers which were excellent (although the mussel sauce was a bit plain). My meal (a daily special of salmon) was excellent. My wife also really enjoyed her beet salad. My nephew had the shrimp and grits which he enjoyed. The service and ambience were excellent. Sorry it will be a long time to go back.

They welcomed us for brunch on a crowded holiday Saturday, even though we were very casual and with kids. Friendly and helpful service and the "chicken stack" on the brunch menu is still giving me cravings. Great food, great service.

Every mouthful was delicious! And really, the food is always that way. Their produce and other ingredients are top quality and each meal is carefully conceived and prepared. You will not be disappointed!

A very delicious meal. From soup to salad to entree we thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our meals. The Beet Soup was absolutely the best I have ever had but all the meal was excellent. Would easily recommend the restaurant and will definitely return again. It is a bit pricey but not at all overpriced for the quality of the food and service.

We got there right at 5. Stay out of Raven s way when she is opening haha! She was great though.

Alice is great behind the bar. We met some great folks there.

We started with two apps before our entree but they filled us up so we never got past the apps. Mussels are highly recommended. Comes with toasted bread that is perfect in the sauce once you get the shells out of the way.

The pork belly steam buns were good. The pork belly and sauce was perfect but the buns were not what you would get in a fine Korean establishment. A little dry and firm.

Had the Visalia mule which hits the spot if you like spicy ginger beer.

Will be back!

Rolled into Boone with my wife, hungry and irritated from the long drive from Atlanta. Happened along this place and stopped in, hoping it would suffice. Well, it did way more than that. We were blown away. Pulled pork plate for the lady, chicken and waffles for me. Both plates, and the salad we got beforehand, were nothing short of excellent. We're used to some top-notch food when we go out, and this was every bit as good as what we'd expect from a highly reviewed spot in Atlanta. I never order chicken and waffles, and after today, I probably won't ever again. It will just be irritating in comparison. On top of it all, they pour a generous wine glass. I appreciate that. Don't go any further. This spot will please.

We had an excellent dinner here--the ambiance was perfect, the food delicious, and our server was extremely professional. The falafel entree was good, but the chicken and waffle dish was notably good, as well as the wedge salad of all things. My husband was not looking forward to the collard greens that came with his dish, and ended up loving them. My favorite item of the night was the prickly pear mojito, which I highly recommend. Food was great and we were well taken care of--highly recommend.

The absolute best high end food you will eat in the high country no question. I absolutely do not understand how they do it. It is our favorite spot for birthdays or business lunches. Lunch is a very friendly 'popping' atmosphere while dinner is a quiet personal affair with great wine selection.
