Pipeline deserved a "Standing O!" The performance was second to none...this is a must see event. There were times of laughter and also times of tears (for me). Encore! The theater is comfy cozy & clean and not a bad seat in the house.

The large stage relative to seating capacity makes this theater feel very intimate. A full bar with reasonable prices ($7 beers and wine, $9 cocktails as of summer 2017), generous pours and quick service. Strong air conditioning even in the heat wave when I visited . . . you'd think it's not worth mentioning but it matters!

I've come here a few times and every time it has been a good experience. This last time was to see culture clash. And it was good. They have a bar in the first floor and valet parking is available for 13 dollars.
Good location and clean comfortable place.

Awesome venue with a historical twist. FKA, the Biograph Theater, where notorious gangster John Dillinger met his end in an alley down the street. Performances here are always thought provoking and represent the sign of the times. Tonight we saw the intense and thought-provoking family drama, The First Deep Breath, which I highly recommend!

We saw the holiday production of The Fantastic Mr Fox - was such a great show from Emerald City. Even kept my 2yo son's attention the whole time! This venue is great for kids, not too big, every seat is a good view of the stage, and the lobby is manageable with the kiddies. Found parking on the street fairly easily as well. Would definitely attend other shows here.

Went to the Victory Gardens Theatre for their Ignition 2018 festival.

We were fortunate to witness a staged reading of How to Defend Yourself by Lily Padilla. It was very interesting to see all of the behind the scenes preparations that go into a production of a play.

The actors were excellent and the venue is intimate and welcoming.

The theatre is dedicated to the development and production of new plays and playwrights. It is also exciting to see so many female playwrights getting the opportunity and guidance to finish their productions.

A great place to see up and coming playwrights, plays and actors!

I have never walked out of the VG unsatisfied. Except for the parking issue (it's a 15 minute walk), I recommend checking their offerings out. (Maybe, when the current construction is finished, parking may be more convenient).

Took my kid to see The Fantastic Mr Fox. The play is scarier than she was ready for at age 4, but the production and performance was great. The cast even put on a little show before the play, singing songs (Old MacDonald, including animal requests from the audience). The musicians walked around the audience with their instruments and invited children to play them. My daughter loved those parts of it, and meeting the actors after the show, even though the play itself scared her.

One of the reasons I love this theater is because ...

One of the reasons I love this theater is because of the history. This is the last place that the gangster John Dillinger saw a movie. John was a huge fan of the movies, in fact he loved watching the news reels at the beginning because the stories were about him. There was no internet back then and no 24 hour news channel, so this is how John Dillinger was able to see himself up on the big screen.

On that fateful night John Dillinger was sold out to the FBI, who were waiting for him at two theaters on Lincoln Ave. They spotted him leaving the Biograph and he ran down an alley to the right of the theater where he was shot dead. Yeah he went out like a bad guy in every motion picture. This theater is a part of Chicago History and many people do not even know it.

I am happy that Victory Gardens kept the name Biograph Theater. Mostly shows and plays are now performed here. There was talk that the name may change or it may be converted into a store or something. That would have been tragic for our city history.

I have been to several shows here but the irony is that they are all kid shows with my little one. I wonder if John Dillinger would approve of what happen to his movie theater.

The theater is also located in the heart of Lincoln Park near DePaul University. There are a ton of restaurants and bars in the area, so no need to worry about where to have fun because there is plenty to do.

Came here for an advance screening of Indecent and it was awesome! It's a nice, small theater with reasonable prices. You can find free parking if you turn off the main street. The actors were amazing and the play was so powerful. I would really like to come back here sometime to catch another show!

We saw Fantastic Mr Fox and loved it. We don't have children but I really appreciated how many ways the theatre tried to engage kids of all ages. There were posters in the lobby and after the show the musicians/actors were talking to the kids in the lobby after the show

The atmosphere, the quality of the theater and the PHENOMENAL play me and my mother went to see, "First Deep Breath " was wonderful! The staff welcomes you with a smile. The only improvement is it was cold the entire play! The majority of the audience kept our coats on! They also didn't have enough choice selection for intermission. They only had coffee, liquor, packaged cookies and nuts. Those that don't drink would like a pop, perhaps peanuts and chocolates.

This facility is a staple in the Chicago storefront theater scene. Hosting a variety of spaces, lots of classic and contemporary plays, musicals, etc can be enjoyed steps away from transit and restaurants. Enjoy!

Great little theater where every seat has a great view (stadium style seating). The seats are pretty comfortable, they have a non-gendered bathroom, a lovely little place to sit for intermission, and on Sundays street parking is free (woohoo!!). Plus they offer rush tickets if the show you re looking for isn t sold out. We got $55 seats for $22. A great little place!

We are long-term subscribers of this fine Theater Company. It has made the transition to a new artistic director quite gracefully, in spite of the dramatic change of the focus of its programs. It is now much more suitable for a younger and multi-ethnic audience, while still putting on the kind of professional performances that the former group of regular attendees will and do enjoy.
