Took my wife there last night for her BD. I made reservation but they only had seats next to the stage. Sound was too loud, we could't hear each other. My wife's steak was burned, Overall dinning experience was below average. Not going back!

I've always loved this place but this time I waited a long time for everything even for drinks. There seemed to be a lot of runners but not servers! I think was only one server, who was great but he had a lot of tables to look after. He did have a device though which worked remotely for orders which was great.

Perfect experience every time I've been here.

Food is excellent, service spot on and the ambiance is just wonderful. Romantic, fun, comfortable and an experience I always look forward to.

The artists are magnificent, providing music that you wish would never end.

Thank you Vibrato!!

This venue, though hard to find, is worth the effort. The atmosphere was lighted and sound perfect for a Jazz Supper club. The seating could be snug to some but was intimate and cozy. The stage was in good view to everyone. The sound was well mixed and not overbearing. The food was pricey but was worth the price. And the service was phenomenal: they really look after you without being annoying. I will go again regardless of who is performing.

This place is beautiful and the ambiance very intimate. We came on a Monday night for a special engagement to see Seth Macfarlane sing with the band and what a treat it was! He started at 845 and sang all the way through after 10pm. Dinner was amazing (on the pricey side though, so come prepared) from the appetizers of yellowtail sashimi and grilled octopus to the mains of Ribeye and scallops. Only downside, and the reason I removed one star, is the fact that out in front of the stage, guests are packed in like sardines. There is very little wiggle room, nowhere to put your coats or purses and at times would bump into the table next to us when having to get up to use the restroom.

Overall, great experience and everyone should visit Vibrato at least once in their life, you won t regret it!

I am trying to be a more realistic Yelp reviewer when it comes to my star ratings. If I liked a place but I probably wouldn't rush back, I think that's a three. If I like it and want to go back, that's a four. If I want to crawl into their oven so that I may end my life in the finest restaurant I can recall, that's a five.

Who cares about ones and twos. They're duds anyway.

Vibrato is cool but the cool factor comes from the music - duh - and not much else. The food was kind of just okay and the drinks were kind of too expensive. It's not exactly convenient to get to either. If it wasn't for the music, I don't think anyone would go here.

Oh well. I probably will go back when I want to hear some jazz again. But maybe I'll just grab a drink at the bar or something. If that's even a thing.

Am a regular and never disappoints. The Jazz music is enough to send you into another world. A must to visit for at least a night cap if not for their 5 star dinners and a wine list to die for.
Highly recommended.

I found out about this restaurant through Dine LA,...

I found out about this restaurant through Dine LA, Oct 2011. I was extremely excited to check this place out because of all the good reviews and the fact that they had live Jazz entertainment. Unfortunately, I was disappointed and here's why.

Although our waitress was very nice, she was extremely slow and disappeared most of the evening. Everything we asked for would take about 20mins+ (the check, the drinks, the entrees, the bread, and so forth). It was just painful! I would have to add that I believe she was one of two or maybe the only waitress working that Sunday night, but there were plenty of helpers nearby that would refill the water or bring our entrees. The restaurant was only maybe at their 15-20% capacity, so there's no excuse for slow service.

As for the food, it was a hit or miss on certain dishes. My friends and I almost ordered everything on the Dine LA menu and here's my take on it.

Appetizers:
Chef's Soup of the Day-Mushroom Soup (There was no depth to the soup and it was over salted)

Farmer's Market Salad (Very standard and tasty, I love the extra punch that the truffle vinaigrette gave to the salad. But who doesn't love truffle oil?!)

Fingerling Potato Knish (This was the BEST appetizers out of all of them! It has the perfect crunch with the balance of the filling and the layers of smoked Salmon; you only get three piece but it's SOOO good!)

Entrees:
Flat Iron Steak (BEST dish of the night....the Bordelaise Sauce with the Sauteed Mushroom was perfect in Medium Rare; You cannot go wrong with this dish if you're a meat eater! The meat was so tender and a perfect size to fill you up!)

Organic Irish Salmon (I am a salmon lover, but I don't know what in the world was up with this dish?!! I love seafood, but even for me I can smell the fish across the room. Sounds ironic, but it was a smell that was not appetizing. The fava beans that came with it just destroyed the taste of dish....it was a BIG disappointment! The only positive stuff I have to say about the dish was the Israeli Couscous, tender and bouncy.)

Dessert:
Truffle Chocolate Cake with Mint Ice Cream, Chocolate Sauce (Truffle Chocolate Cake was a bit bland and dry. On the other hand, the Ice Cream was amazing)

Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Orange, Mint & Strawberry Salsa (I love Panna Cotta and this one was good, but nothing really stood out. The salsa they had was too sour. Perhaps, they should've sauteed the fruit to bring out the sugar content of it for a better balance.)

Would I come back to this place? Probably not. But let me leave off with a more positive note on this restaurant. The decor of this place is wonderful, very warm and spacious (it has two story). The live music that they had was wonderful. The drinks here go for about $15 on average, but it was worth it. I ordered the cucumber drink that came with vodka, cucumber, jalapeno, and lime juice. I would recommend this place if you're meeting a casual date at the bar for some drinks. I hope whoever reads my review and visit this place will have better luck than me, cheers!

Vibrato Grill Jazz is a really beautiful restaurant. The drinks are really good I had a drink called "vampire" which was like a bloody marry a little spicy and sweet. Our server was really nice and helpful he helped me pick something veggie for me. I had a mushroom risotto but I didn't see any mushrooms in it for my 2 side dishes I had steamed spinach and esparragos but the food was really salty. Over all I had a great experience its a really nice place to go with a date because of the jazz music and the amazing alcohol. I will be going back for sure.

Something else I really liked about this place is that they have valet parking and all the guys were so nice and helpful.

Great atmosphere and entertainment. You d be surprise by celebrity presence. Some say it s pricey And you ll be sure to spend at least $200. Cover charge is $20 per person but the food and drinks are high-end and worth it. Cocktails are roughly $20, beers are $10 each and main dishes range from $25 to $70. Sides are $12 to $18. There s free parking and valet. Sit back, relax, enjoy your meal and drinks with great sounds.

A+ Brunch. The steak benny looked incredible, the pot roast hash was amazing, and the bottomless mimosas sure don't hurt. This place is a go-to for a filling brunch to get me going before an errand filled day.

Hey, it s finally re-opened! Beautiful big outdoor patio in back, with raised wood floor and lovely twinkling lights overhead, that seats 100 or so, with adequate social distance between tables. Service is great, menu is small, food is delicious, drinks are prepared in a quaint trailer out back, sublime live accordionist reminds you that one day you ll return to Paris. Perfectly romantic dining experience.

What I expected (also based on the reviews here): A excellent Jazz restaurant with gourmet food and good music, right on the legendary Mulholland Dr.

The steak was great, but the dining was poor: The waiter was superficial, did not remember who ordered which meal, the music was unambitioned.

I think the ice rocks in the drinks were made of tap water, so it tasted like chlorine.

Two stars - Because it was far away from my expectations and weak price/quality ratio.

We came for a birthday dinner celebration. The food and service and the entertainment were pretty good. After we paid the bill we stayed for one more song and were getting ready to leave when either the host or manager asked us to leave because they were busy. We got it but did they really need to push us out when others had been there longer?

you can go anywhere and get a pretty good meal. you can find a place that has good food, good drinks or a place with unique ambiance. But at the Vibrato there is more to it than filling you up. the beauty of this place is not a patina. the food is good because care goes into it from the bottom to the top. they value their staff, their team of incredible skilled workers, their artists, their presentation, and their impact on the surrounding area. it is out of a zeal and passion for contribution that the resulting experience is completely positive for anyone who goes there. the Vibrato vibes are contagious, and here you don't find just another restaurant, you find joy, and you see purpose.

Great place, epic vibe and jazz, sounds was great too. Saturday night with Frank Gambale was super good. Great service too. Burger was fantastic, parm chicken was average plus. Only reason not 5 start is that it is pricey. Desserts were great too. Peach cobbler!

Had a great date night here with my husband, he doesn't really care for the live music aspect he just came for the great food so it's a win win for both of us! The seats were great, there really isn't a bad seat in the place and Mike Miller was perfect diner entertainment. It's not so loud that you can't speak to each other so I liked that. I got the vegetarian coconut curry which was great and my husband got the fillet mignon which was even better! I was looking for a good whiskey drink and definitely got it with the Good Ole Boy. The only bad thing I can say is that the drink cost $18, I think that's just ridiculous but unfortunatly I guess that's just the going rate now. We came to the 6:30 show so we were able to find parking but when we got out around 8 it was completely packed and you pretty much had to use the vallet.

Vibrato Grill & Jazz is truly a hidden gem within ...

Vibrato Grill & Jazz is truly a hidden gem within the LA area. I have to be upfront and mention that I actually work there. I'm a server, come on in and say hello :) and I'll be more than happy to help you out, give you some cool background on the place, let you know food wise what is fresh for that day and simply show you and your guest(s) a good, fun time :) We have Live music every night (rest. is closed Mondays), live music the other six nights a week. Always a variety with the artists, and we of course bring back favorites from month to month or so. Friday & Saturday nights, one consistent thing from week to week is we'll have a duo playing from 6/630 - 830pm (typically a pianist and standup bassist so the music is soft, light and just sets a light mood) then at 9pm the listed artist goes on for that night and plays for a cple hrs or so, with a break or two mixed in. The other 4 night a week (Sun, Tues, Weds & Thurs) the listed artist plays for the entire night. Each artist is different with how many sets and their start time, typically anywhere from 6/630 - 8pm, and again they can do anywhere from 1-3 sets on average.
The setting is very intimate, warm, cozy, relaxed, romantic and enjoyable. Lights are dimly lit, stage in the center, 3 levels of tables.
The restaurant is multi, multi Grammy winner Herb Alpert's gift to the public. It was his idea, concept, creation and design. The restaurant has been around for 13+ years now. Yes, Herb does frequent the place, and he also plays there from time to time. Better yet his daughter, Eden Alpert, has been an active partner and employee of the place since the very beginning. Eden is very involved with the daily operations, and you can catch her any given night hosting, greeting guest, assisting the musicians, and simply making sure every night is smooth and enjoyable by all guests who walk through our front doors.
We have an amazing bar area, plenty of bar stools, bar seating, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful bartenders who can assist with any particular taste, interest or specialty drink you may have in mind. Full bar, pretty much everything but blended drinks and sake. We have an awesome scotch, whiskey and tequila list. Most every popular vodka. Our wine list is a good 300+ varietals. Plenty of great Californian Cabs, chards, pinots, great old world bordeaux, italians, Australians, a really good selection. Bottles anywhere from $35/$40 up to a few $300+. We honestly have a great, large selection of bottles within the $50-$100 range that are well suitable, great quality, and will more than do the job :)
Food wise, appetizers and salads from about $10-$20. Items like tuna tartare, new Zealand lamb lollipops, tomato and burrata salad, crab cakes, mussels, calamari, etc.
Main course, anywhere from $20/$30 -$40/$50, plus we have an awesome side selection. Fish options, salmon, sea bass, very tasty vegan and vegetarian options. Our steaks, mmmm mmm! Bone in ribeyes, filet mignon, porterhouse plus daily steak specials, or alternative daily main course specials. Items like braised short ribs, eggplant parmesean, we have more than enough options to satisfy and appease any appetite. Make sure you save room for dessert as we have not only some extremely tasty pastry options like a molten chocolate lava cake paired with a tasty quality scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a cheesecake or tiramiso, but we also have a great selection of after dinner drinks like ports, muscato, brandy, ice wine and cognacs. Or maybe simply a cappuccino or herbal tea.
The musical directors name is Pat Senatore. He has not only been with the restaurant since the very beginning, but he also was an original member of the Tijuana Brass, for those that know ;)
You won't regret coming in, my name is Adrian once again, and I am there most nights. Feel free to ask for me with any questions you may have, if theirs anything I can do to help make your visit more enjoyable, or simply if you would like to say hello :) I hope to see you in soon!!

Only had the pleasure of going once, in 2009. As a Herb Alpert fan, I was excited to try Vibrato and I wasn't disappointed. I've dined at a lot of restaurants in Los Angeles and this was by far the best. We sat close to the stage, and enjoyed every minute of the live music! Service and food were exceptional. If you have the opportunity to go, please do! And I hear Herb sometimes makes an appearance onstage Saturday nights!
