Are you kidding. That is some of the best care in the world.
Being a veteran I have mix reviews and would be very hard not to allow my disdain for the V.A get in the way for this review.
The parking is always tough here the parking garage is always busy unless it's the evening.
Staff is usually very friendly though you will get that one person who u wonder why they even still work at a job they hate so much.
The facility itself is up to date with improvements still being made.
They have a cafeteria that's open for lunch (other times I couldn't tell you)
They are inefficient! Give you an appt for 7:00am and your still waiting at11:30 for a simple CT Scan /with contrast. Are these people that lazy that it would take this long or just plain stupid. Every time I bring my man here we are here all day and end up in rush hour traffic. Someone with a brain needs to start running this place!!!!
I had a breast reduction with Dr. Gathawrite and between him and the staff it was probably the best experience I've had in a hospital setting . The service was amazing.
My dad has had a couple of procedures there and the staff is all wonderful.
They are a full service facility that is capable of giving excellent care.
Building in need of repairs! Torn rugs, peeling wall coverings, feels old and run down
I've had a good experience with my PCM but the lady who does all of the scheduling for them, Ms Gray I think her name is, well she is extremely unprofessional and just an overall terrible person when it comes to patient relations. Avoid her at all costs if you can.
I was really impressed by the professionalism and patient care I received after my surgery. All staff, from the surgery team, the pharmacist, and all the shifts of the nurses on 5B were outstanding.
Great VA location that takes care of America's veterans. I enjoy receiving treatment here and look forward to many more positive experiences
My dad has been surgically intervened 4 times and not once have you guys gotten right. Need to go back to training school or something. Get your lawyers ready
Besides the drive to get there I've been here twice within a month. Staff is all polite some maybe a little grumpy but hey not everyone has great days. Free parking in garage with va police patrolling. The VA health care has really stepped up their game here in the past few years and a big thanks to all the VA workers and those involved.
The rooms need a little TLC. If they fix the minor things like the cabinet door falling off it would be really nice. For the most part the staff was great just like any where you have your good and bad.
Food man if it's after hours or the weekend, or a holiday forget it. The machines were empty.
Their nurse on call line needs better instructions... She gave us the wrong place to go cause Parma VA is still listed as a emergency room. She also didn't tell us we can go to any emergency room (my son is still new at this)
Went to the ER with my boyfriend tonight. We got there at 5:15pm and didn t leave until 10pm. During that time only about 20 minutes was taken up by a doctor. The longest amount of time coming from his ultrasound and then about 5 minutes from any other doctor.
When we finally got back to a room at 9:30pm the doctor barged in the door and just stared at us until my boyfriend asked if he was the doctor we were seeing. That doctor continued to be rude and acted as if we were an inconvenience. The only nice part about this hospital are the guides/escorts.
Unable to get in contact with anyone at the hospital. Have tried called several times over the past week and I either get no answer, get put on hold with an extremely long period (over 30 minutes), or the operator just hangs up on me. I can't comment or rate the care because I can NEVER get a hold of someone to make an appointment. Absolutely terrible.
Most of the time good service they take wonderful care of my wife
The VA usually gets a bad rap, but the people the actually work and take care of you do a great job, are friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. I am very grateful to those who work at the VA.
LEARNING ABOUT MY STUCK POINTS CHANGED MY SELF IMAGE THAT WAS DESTROYED IN VIETNAM I ACTUALLY AM LEARNING TO LIKE MYSELF FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE THANKS TO DEDICATED PEOPLE .
I have never had a good experience using the Cleveland or Canton branch. They are never timely, they constantly try to reschedule mid appointment, and I've never had them competently complete a health issue. Veterans deserve better than this.
had a very good experience while I was in this hospital
First class hospital and care. I've been treated there for cancer and have received excellent treatment.
These Doctors don't help. Been going there for 6yrs now, been through 8 different primary doctors, they don't help me with the pain I am in and I keep getting the same tests ran on me. No body does anything different. I've had to explain my issues over and over and over to each new doctor. Its actually very annoying.
The hospital staff in general is very great although there are a few bad apples. Overall almost always a great experience.
My showed up today to check in for a test and they offered to set me up with a primary care physician as well as updating my Veterans Administration forms and any other detail that I asked them to do everybody on the staff today was extremely helpful and friendly I wish more VA Hospital we're like the one here in Cleveland keep up the great job everybody.
their research center still insists on procuring puppies and using them for horrendous research that results in pain and death--long after almost all medical schools use computer graphics for this. Shame on them
I always receive excellent treatment and care. Grateful for the staff.
I have received excellent care through the years at the Cleveland VA.
Been receiving care here for years and it's nothing but the best.
I am thankful to receive my meds from there. I don't get everything I need but I get most of it. The wait times are excessive so when I'm not well I cancel. I don't have the energy to drive there and then sit for 3 hrs. I have had a dr from the ER tell me that my breathing was better than his so I left and he referred me to mental health who in turn sent me to another dr (a week later). Turns out I had a bronchial infection. That is not the 1st time that kind of thing has happened to me. I do the basics. Eyes ears dentist I even only see my Physian when I'm feeling well bc she sends me to the ER who tells me I'm fine. When I'm not well I don't have the energy. I guess you have to be bleeding or foaming at the mouth for them to figure it out
Today or today I was at the VA in Cleveland
and for as many people
that go in there and Cleveland I have to commend them people how they can handle that and not lose their minds they really need a hand for all the stuff they can put up with thanks I really needed what you did for me today
Louis Stokes VAMC is the 3rd highest rated hospital in the VA system. It is now head and shoulders over the POS that was this hospital. It was long overdue for changes, updates and attitude adjustment. That has happened!
I had a heart stint implanted a 18 months ago and the care was phenomenal. More recently, because they were backlogged they out sourced me to the Cleveland Clinic for a rare Urological cancer and treatment. That was successfully treated.
Now in December of 2016 I find myself back in the hospital with lung cancer in the upper left lobe of my left lung.
Survey was done and in 2 days I am home. Next step is chemo, starting in January, 2017.
Through all of this there has not been one bad experience with staff for me or for my wife. They have been really good at keeping us informed as to what was going on and why.
Not to mention there are a large number of veterans who work here on staff, as nurses, doctors, aids, etc.
This is a very caring facility that puts the vets first.
Most of the time very good service, however front desk personnel are very rude and act like they wish they didn't have a job. You can approach the desk and stand there for five minutes before they even look at your or acknowledge you, not even a "good morning, be right with you" or a simple "hi" is given. Appointments take forever to attend. They tell you to be 30 minutes early, but often you end up waiting 30 minutes to an hour after your scheduled appointment time to be seen. This could also be due to the hospital being overflowing with patients, many who seem to be there just to talk to other veterans and have nothing wrong with them which ruins the experience for everyone else as the parking lot is always PACKED even at 8AM.
The only reason this place gets 4 stars is because I do not have to pay copays for doctors, hospital stays, emergency visits or other procedures and services. I had procedures done for cancer and didn't pay anything but a small copay for prescriptions. Expanding the hospital, opening a new location and getting friendlier staff would definitely benefit the VA hospital.
I want to recognize Dr. Nadim El Chakhtoura, physician in Emergency Department for his outstanding service and compassion. This weekend was the second time he attended to my boyfriend and I was so impressed with the patience and ability to make us feel like we were his only concern. He patiently answered all questions and explained the issue with detail. Thank you Dr. El Chakhtoura for your excellent service.
Well this is a Veteran's Hospital and they take care of the veterans in any way that they can
My dad has cancer in his lung and is having surgery today. Came up here to all the way from Orrville Ohio almost a 2 hr drive. To be Rudely talked to. We where scanned in for covid and was A Ok. Then get to the where visitors and patients go. The guy that was at the desk talked to my sister and I so rude. Was told only one person could be up there with him and couldn't switch out back and forth. If I could give a 0 and my Dad didn't need this hospital we would go somewhere else. He served this country and I can just imagine what the patients go through every day if they are talked to like that. If you dont like your job go somewhere else.
Cares Towers 3 rd floor is very inadequate and ruined my father-in-law by leaving him in bed most of the 24 hours per day except for when he was downstairs in physical therapy. He was able to walk and get in and out of bed and go the the restroom on his own when he was admitted. After leaving him in is bed for 3 weeks for most of the day and night, he could not walk or hardly stand. Then a staff member left him unattended in his wheelchair, he fell, had brain bleeding and now a stroke, will be sent to hospice. This is the thanks he and his family got for serving his country in World War II.
Why do you suppose somebody would remove the property from the PRRC constantly when we enrolled in the program for recovery can somebody please explain this to me? If a picture is worth 1000 words what is the video worth? @CoachZeeeee | google.it | #brending is branding+friending (c)2011-2019 (r)(tm) All Rights Reserved
Medical/nursing staff is excellent. Wish I could give 10 stars for that. Your VA escorts are rude, and talk down to the nurses giving directions, as if they were animals. I thought this escort was going to hit a nurse, when she gave him instructions to where to take my father. I had to step away! His behavior was horrible, and as I nurse myself, I fet terrible for that nurse, that had to tolerate that. His apology to me once on the elevator was not enough. I replied with, "I will apologize to her, for your disrespect when I see her".
DR. AMY WHOIS YOUR BEST-KNOWN HOMELAND SECURITY AGENT?
Has anyone ever told you to use a tongue depressor to eat soup with? That is exactly what happened to my dad the last time he was admitted to this hospital. If you have any other options available, I would chose it over this hospital. He has been in and out of this hospital 6 times since January and has had over 15 follow up appointments. They DO NOT provide proper care. Additionally, the nurse made rude comments about the paraplegic gentleman sharing the hospital room with my dad. They need to learn respect and how to value their vets. I have no doubt in my mind they would treat their patients differently if they were held to standards. Twice they forgot to provide meals for my dad, completely ridiculous and unprofessional.
Medical Records has to be extremely busy or they are really lazy. I was on hold but first in line for over 30 mins before i got through. And then the phone just rang like crazy. Some care. I am trying to take care of a solider and I can't even get through. If this is what people go through to get medical care then I would go somewhere else. You always have a choice where you want to go. No matter where you live. This is a very unprofesional place.
This place is alright, and that's kind of my main theme for this review. It's just alright. Nothing great, but nothing that bad either. For one, I found parking to be sort of a pain. This is a much more crowded location than some of the other satellite locations. I had an appointment at 1 p.m. on a weekday, and it was like a mad house in there. I definitely see why the VA built other campuses to support such a need. I also found the staff to just be slightly apathetic. Not necessarily rude, but not as friendly as other VA locations.
I was hesitant to change back to the Cleveland VA when I moved back from Buffalo because of some bad experiences in the past. I learned that after driving back to Buffalo for 2 years I discovered that it was not necessary.
I want to thank everyone at the VA center for their thoughtfulness and help during my brothers treatment today. Several times I have transported my brother to your facility and I am amazed on the care and follow up he and I received. Your nursing staff, Travis, Jim and Mary kept me posted on his procedure and help to make this day bearable.
Again, thanks to all.... Nurses and the information staff for their support.
Respectfully,
Mark A. Steadman
Disgusting experience with this facility. I have been hung up on multiple times trying to schedule an appointment. Employees here are lazy and dont care.
stayed in dom 6 months voa & va run it together sort of. voa should go most useless workforce ive ever seen. voa runs the chow hall food substanderd and they run out of food & juice on a reguler basis.
va staff runs & hides in their offices unless theyre having a meeting .thought clients were 1 priority. at va dom in cleveland ohio maybe 3 on a good day.
I'm not kidding. The VAMC has so greatly improved I can get an appointment in under a week in just about any clinic (Podiatry and Optical are the only exception.
I have just recently been hospitalized there...twice within two weeks.
My review of both admissions is 100% positive
Beautiful facility, everyone is very friendly and helpful, I have nothing but good to say about my experiences here!
Thank You to all the fine people who helped when I brought my friend in for surgery at the Cleveland Lois Stokes Wade Park VA Hospital. From the attendants and volunteers to the fine surgeons , the care and services we received were first rate and professional in every way.
I have to give them 5 stars .
Thank You Cleveland VA!
I came in the Hospital I was having a heart attack the day after Father s Day everyone was really nice. I had two very nice nurses one was Josh on day shift and Caroline on second shift.then Tina released me in the morning.
