A very interesting place to learn everything worth knowing about the artist Vermeer and his pictures. There are explanations of the pictures and other objects in Dutch and English. However, the audio door is also available in German. I can only recommend this museum.

Although they are all copies of the real works, the overview exhibition, with the help of the audio tour, the accompanying texts and the choices of informative subjects, was more than worthwhile. We were fascinated for more than 1 1/2 hours.

Arrived late in the day and the staff were incredibly helpful. Lockers available for storage of bags. Didn't get to see everything as time was short but enjoyed seeing prints of all Vermeer's paintings in one place.

This is not a museum for the purpose of exhibiting, but rather an open lesson for students. Vermeer's biography can also be found on Google. Nothing in the interior is reminiscent of the era.

Great presentation of information about all of Vermeers works plus background on life and times, techniques and influences, even though all works here are reproduced no originals. With various types of static and interactive displays and a very good free audioguide (a must) was able to get a very good appreciation of his works, in particular the symbolism of objects gestures etc, but mostly about his most renowned aspect the mastery of light and reflection. A true Master
The building is easy to find in centre of Delft, and is compact so can get around easiily, has elevator to get between floors. I suggest allowing 2 hours for this experience.

Went here totally unprepared. Fortunately, it was immediately clear that only replicas of Vermeer's work can be found here. But in retrospect I understand why: there are not many paintings by his hand and most of them have "disappeared" abroad.

What I will not soon forget is the explanation of how to paint light. Phenomenal explanation in the light studio!

A complete waste of time and money. There is nothing here that you could not see in a book on Vermeer. Don't be expecting to see any genuine art by the man. OK, the paintings are too rare, but there is nothing here. No sketches, no letters. Right from the start they say that not a lot was known about Vermeer. Well, then perhaps you will struggle to create a Vermeer Center!! Seriously. Save your money. Avoid.

Nice overview of the life and work of Vermeer, who made only 36 paintings during his life. Not real paintings (of course), but full-size reproductions. This way you can see the entire oeuvre in one go! Furthermore, interesting explanations on the use of paint and symbolism. Museum year card not valid, because there are no paintings! Strange reasoning. Still 2 discount. Entrance 8 pp.

A wonderful encounter with Vermeer.

A wonderful encounter with Vermeer.
Vividly illustrated. No original but originally one is in the time staggered. A MUST with a Delft visit. Wonderful! A caffeteria and a book shop complete the visit. Admission 9 euros incl. Translator per Headphone.Bin been thrilled, although an original would have set me in ecstasy.

Really nice museum of Vermeer replicas, his life and paintings are explained in the walls and near the paintings. It explains a bit about painting thecniques and the obscure camera as well. I would advice you to watch first the movie "The girl of the pearl earring" with Scarlet Johansson before the museum because it's about his most famous painting. It's not that type of museum endless that you get bored if you don't understand so much about art, but it has the essential.

In the Vermeer Center you can get acquainted with an interesting interpretation and analysis of his paintings. Although there are no originals, it is worth getting acquainted with the rich collection of his works and the painting technique used by Vermeer.

About Vermeer Centrum Delft

Vermeer Centrum Delft: A Journey Through the Life of Johannes Vermeer

Vermeer Centrum Delft is a museum located in the heart of Delft, Netherlands. The museum is dedicated to the life and works of Johannes Vermeer, one of the most celebrated Dutch painters of all time. The museum offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore Vermeer's life and art through interactive exhibits, multimedia presentations, and guided tours.

The museum was established in 2008 with the aim of promoting Vermeer's legacy and preserving his works for future generations. Since then, it has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Delft, attracting thousands of visitors every year from all over the world.

One of the main highlights at Vermeer Centrum Delft is its collection of reproductions that showcase some of Vermeer's most famous paintings such as "Girl with a Pearl Earring," "The Milkmaid," and "View on Delft." These reproductions are created using advanced technology that allows visitors to see every detail up close as if they were standing right in front of an original painting.

In addition to these reproductions, there are also several original artworks on display at the museum that provide insight into Vermeer's artistic process. Visitors can see how he used light and shadow to create depth in his paintings or how he experimented with different color palettes to achieve certain effects.

Another fascinating aspect about this museum is its interactive exhibits which allow visitors to experience what it was like living during Vermeer's time period. For example, there is an exhibit where you can try on traditional Dutch clothing from the 17th century or learn about how people cooked their meals back then.

For those who want a more immersive experience, there are guided tours available that take you through various parts of Delft where you can see some real-life locations that inspired many aspects within his paintings. You'll get insights into what life was like during this period while also learning more about Johannes himself!

Overall, visiting Vermeer Centrum Delft is an unforgettable experience for anyone interested in art history or just looking for something unique while exploring Holland! With its impressive collection and interactive exhibits designed for all ages - it truly offers something special!
