A little oppressive. Spend! Spend! Spend! Much more to enjoy.
I had expected real paintings. Here are only replicas. But the explanation is really good! Good to do in an hour. Searching for discounts pays off.
Nice small museum. 3 floors of exhibition and a museum shop (and toilets) on the ground floor in the former guild house. Good audio guides Every sign is in Dutch and English. We spent 1,5 hours here.
No original paintings but good prints and excellent audio tour. We enjoyed the local history, art and architectural history, biography, discussion of his subjects and techniques. The display of materials used to make his paints, with discussion of sources and methods, was fascinating, too.
After visiting many museums at home and abroad, I can surely conclude that this is not interesting or museum; there is no real art from Vermeer, much information is not really relevant but gathered and the audio tour was to fall asleep.
The staff was also too busy looking up online recipes to ask if we were enjoying ourselves and upon entering the ladies behind the counter thought it was completely normal to be out loud (with my company still in the wardrobe around the corner) discuss how bizarre the youth of today are with so many tattoos. Thank you for this warm welcome.
Nice place to those who wants to understand Vermeer's techniques.
Tour of pictures of paintings by Vermeer. The explanation of the light was interesting
Museum to learn about life and, above all, the work of Vermeer. It is a small center and in which there are no original works of the artist. But there are life-size reproductions with which they explain their technique and the period of their work, which make it just as interesting. Worth.
An evening with Deadia, a network for enterprising female entrepreneurs about joint ventures. Many compliments about the speaker and location. Very well taken care of!
Nice if you come with children. A bit disappointing if you really want to admire Vermeer's work. We knew we were coming to see reproductions, but posters on pictures. Yeah.
One of the most interesting tourist places in Delft! The examples describe the symbolism in the works of Vermeer, about what paints and techniques he used. This is not a museum in the classical view, there are no originals in the twilight of booming rooms; This place just helps to learn to understand the paintings, through them to see through the eyes of the artist, and not just to evaluate from the like - don't like position.
There are only reproductions in the museum so don't expect to see the real thing. However the museum is very good at explaining Vermeer's technique. Worth a visit to see his body of work.
Very interesting exhibit about the artist and his work, as well as Delft during his time. Includes audio guide. Sadly, there are no originals, just replicas of his work. But definitely worth the visit!
Super tasty food and drinks, nice culture and a nice personel
Very disappointing visit! At the very high admission prices, not a single Vermeer original was shown. This museum is all about the money of the visitors.
Fermeier Center: A place to introduce his life and his works, along with Fermeier's works born and raised in Delft.
Interesting museum about vermeer with interactive parts.
Vermeer is a little-known Dutch painter, which is a pity. No one like him could capture the light in the picture ... He used very expensive pigments at that time, in particular ultramarine, which was imported from Afghanistan.
Before the visit, I recommend a book or a movie with the same title "Girl with a pearl". It is true that it is a biographical fiction, but it has its own climate.
Delft is lovely to visit but had to cut short our day as i had my wallet stolen from d new church! MOST unfortunate. But police were very efficient. I will return
But do watch out for pick pickpokets please
There are NO paintings there! Museum card doesn't work there.
Waste of money.
You can get a discount with a museum card, but it is not free. You can buy a female Miffy doll pouring milk.
Very good museum, modern and fun. Everything is computerized and allows us to immerse ourselves completely in the creative universe of painter Vermeer.
Although not having any original work, this museum allows to learn a lot about the processes and the way of thinking of the artist.
It is not too long, I recommend.
I was lucky enough to turn up just when an English language tour was about to set off, and seeing as how it wasn't fully booked (in January, I think), I joined in. It was absolutely superb, with a friendly, patient and knowledgable guide who gave fascinating, recondite information that I don't think any of us knew before or would even have thought of asking about - e.g. the significance of the jugs that feature in so many Vermeer paintings. The tour took about an hour, and I don't think it cost anything once you'd paid the entrance fee to the Centrum. If you want to do a tour yourself, especially if you want to do one not in Dutch, ring up before and find out the days and times. It may be wise to book, especially if you're going in the busy season.
Very cool. Although the works are not original, you can learn a lot about the Arctic and the great audio guide. The service is excellent. Mandatory stop in Delft.
Nice overview of Vermeer's life. Also inspiring for non-art lovers.
nice museum to know Vermeer's life and masterpieces.
Tourist trap!!! Not one painting ... information about how he painted.. don't pay 8 euro to look at photos of his paintings. You don't even get the "feel" of Johannes Vermeer ..even the outside of the building ,is not original.
There are only replicas and it is small. Price is then quite high
Don't expect paintings as you will only find life-size copies in this museum. Apart from this the museum is very interesting and the audio guide in Italian helps a lot to understand the technique and content of each painting. The interactive parts complete the exhibition allowing you to understand the technique of light, colors and perspective used by the painter
It's basically a great documentation center about the famous painter Vermeer. Even if the pictures are not original, but only reproductions, the explanations about his pictures, painting style, details, meanings and the history of the city of Delft in the time when Vermeer lived there, are very interesting and explained accordingly. An audio guide with all important information is included in the entrance fee. You can now understand the images of Vermeer better. For us it was worthwhile to visit the center.
Very interesting presentation of the work of Vermeer. In addition the building is the former headquarters of the Guild of Saint-Luc painters including Vermeer
Interesting place with free audio tour. Definitely fun to go and learn a bit about Vermeer.
Interesting place and very romantic for evening walks
There is nothing worth visiting in this place! Works with copies and hall-like spaces.
Fantastic, even more impressed than I was with Vermeer.
Moving life story, only saw talent about 200 years later, I would have liked to know so much more about this artist.
Every day I look at home at the serene tranquility of Vermeer, never bored, no other painter knows that to evoke. His techniques are a mystery and inimitable.
Very careful explanation of Vermeer's work, it is worth a visit!
Following the path with the audio guide you have a lot of useful information about vermeers. It is a good educational path for those who are not a connoisseur.
Vermeercentre is a very intresting place and Proffessionel staff.
Realy amazing.
Not much to see, ticket is too expensive for just printed reproductions of his paintings. There's not one original painting in there or any of his things. Only the shop is worth it.
It is interesting to retrace the history of the painter but it is not a place of art, there is nothing original
There are no original paintings but good prints and excellent audio tour. We enjoy the local history, art and history of architecture, biography, discussion of its themes and techniques. The display of materials used to make his paintings, with discussion of sources and methods, was also fascinating. More than interesting information.
Very interesting museum about the works of Vermeer. You learn to view his works differently.
Excellent sample. Interesting and nice. quite recommendable
Very disappointing! No real paintings, just some reproductions and posters. The information about Vermeer seemed vague and asked as many questions as it answered.
Not worth the price, even with a museumkaart. There are only printed replicas of the paintings and the storytelling has almost noting surprising. The museum is small in itself and the narrator in the Italian audoguide is quite bad. Better you visit other museum in Delft.
Very interesting. You will learn to understand Vermeer's paintings as well as aspects of his life ...
Beautiful museum. Educational. I originally thought it would be less interesting, because in principle there are no original paintings by Vermeer. But it is worth it!
If you know neither Dutch nor English, despite the French-speaking audio system not enough information, now I consider the high price to see only copies of tables!
Wonderful museum and gallery of Vermeer's painting's (reproductions)
Fun from the age of 9. The tour was well set up for this age. The children could also dress up a bit as a painter or girl with a pearl. When an afternoon-filling program needs to be made, it would be nice if it could also be painted. But you can of course also do that at home at a party.
Nice and beautiful exhibition about Johannes Vermeer, his works and his life in Delft. High educational content so fun to go with your children or school. It is also very accessible for tourists, who want to see some of Vermeer in addition to Delft. The shop downstairs is therefore a smart move. You do not necessarily have to buy an entrance ticket. I found the ticket and things in the store a bit expensive, but that is personal of course. Definitely recommended for those who want to know more about Vermeer.
If you love Vermeer this is a great museum. We could have spent a lot longer then we did. Somebody told us that 45 minutes to an hour was long enough. So we showed up too close to closing. It would have been wonderful to spend two hours there or three.
Also their hours were like business hours not normal museum hours so they close fairly early in the evening or late in the afternoon.
Great museum. Good to go visit, even with kids. No original paintings, but more explanation about the way the artist worked. When in Delft, you really must visit this museum.
Very nice exhibition with extensive information about Vermeer and his art. Unfortunately no originals on site.
