My girlfriend and I just went here last night for a Mixology class. It was 2 hours of pure fun!! We got our own bartender (Dan was amazing!) walk us through making three different very tasty drinks, and he told us about some interesting history of each as well.
Plus the place has a great vibe and just seems to be a nice spot!
We will definitely be going back!!!!
I ve been enjoying this place for over 3 years, finding incredible flavor combinations and sipping them indoors (pre Covid), outdoors (during Covid) and at home. With a huge selection of bitters and sippers ready-to-be-filled with liquor the drinks can be happily enjoyed anywhere in the world ;-)

We stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a shot - glad we did. They have the most unique and inventive cocktails we ve ever had. Would be 5 stars except the place was pretty seriously understaffed on Sunday night. Per our server, they usually have 5 people working but on this busy night they only had 2. They did a great job trying to keep up but it was clear they just needed more help, especially on a holiday weekend. Anyway - get the Maine margarita and the matador 2. Lovely.
We absolutely loved this vintage soda shop. It's so unique and cozy. For a snack with your soda, try the popcorn - it has truffle salt and crispy onions, we loved it!
Quite the amazing craft cocktail experience. I have had many craft cocktails all over the world, but I must say, Warren at Venas won my heart with his innovative and fearless mixing.

A unique and interesting experience! The cocktail list is extensive and vast! There's something for everyone including those who do not drink. The mocktails menu is equally as appetizing! The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable which makes the experience that much more enjoyable! Also, if you like coffee, do yourself a favor and try the Kopi Old Fashioned!

My very favorite cocktail of all is here, it's actually not a cocktail proper, since they are also a soda shop, and will make fun sodas with or without alcohol, which makes it a more accessible space.
The seating is only high bar stool style, and is a bit hard to get up to if you're limited in mobility.
I get the fluffy fizz , which is a beautiful pink drink that's tart and sweet, with cotton candy on top!
There are lots of drink options for lots of tastes.
Be aware they are not a traditional bar and are not open till 1 every night.
The girl at the front said we might have to move to the bar if a seat opens up. We sat at a table and no one else even came in. Kind of rude.

Fun specialty bar with a fantastic, if pricey, cocktail menu. They also sell lots of unique cocktail infusion kits, barware and a fantastic selection of bitters which is their specialty. Worth a trip!
OMG! This is the bar to go to. It is a diamond in the rough. The staff is so great. They are so knowledgeable and helpful. They have a large selection of cocktails and mocktails. Andy was the best. If he is there ask for the "Let's Have a Kiki" it was amazing. All their cocktails are great and you can get their mocktails with booze. Recommend the BlackBerry Coconut with Rum.
PS the cotton candy drink is the Fluffy Fizz! It was great!

We've been coming to this place every time while visiting Portland. Overall, probably a couple dozen of times!
Warren, and other bartenders have been creating outstanding cocktails each and every time.
But the last time, we were served cocktails by the new bartender, who was extremely slow, emotionless and alost mute.
Her cocktails, obviously made according to the same recipes, somehow were tasteless and way below Vena's quality standards...
Extremely disappointed with the fact that our favorite cocktail place did such an inadequate job hiring a subpar staff.
Hopefully, this was just a single episode.

Love the glassware I got here. If you need bitters or drink accessories this is the place to go. They make some of the best mixed drinks in Portland, and Steve has plenty of good advice if you want to learn how to make your own.

We were referred here, and it exceeded our expectations. Pheonominal drinks, great atmosphere and they sell everything they serve at the bar as do it at home infuzors. Great non alcoholic drinks as well. A definite must go place in Portland.

Wow, am I glad we walked into this place. The shop is Great, and the actual bar was phenomenal. The drink menu on its own deserves a 5 star rating and add in the bartenders enthusiasm and knowledge and it really gives you a feeling unlike any other. If you live in the area and haven't gone, I highly recommend it, and I suspect you'll want to go back like I do.

I have to be honest - I don't remember what drink I had here, or what drink my boyfriend had. However, I do know that they were both DELICIOUS and as strong as you'd want a good cocktail to be.
I can not recommend this place more! I normally say "definitely stop by if you're in the area!" but honestly even if you're not in the area, GO HERE! You'll get a delightfully enjoyable and cleverly made cocktail and you'll get to sip it in the most adorable place. I live over two hours from this place and have considered going back on multiple occasions.
They also have an excellent gift shop with all sorts of cocktail accessories, from bitters to glassware.

What a fantastic little hidden treasure. An unparalleled collection of butters and very unique drink combinations. Meet the owner and had a fun chat about his taste and drink philosophy.
Their syrups, bitters and shrubs are a must-have for any home bar. Though they're currently limited to a takeout mocktail menu, the drinks are still great - but be sure to come back sometime when you can sit at the bar to enjoy the ambiance. Great location for exploring the rest of Old Port after you're done sipping.
Service was great, but slow. It could can been because they were short staffed, and there was a tour of people coming in to try their drinks at the time that we were there. I would recommend going at happy hour. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were great. I ordered a Fizz drink with alcohol, but could not tell that there was alcohol in it. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of alcohol in my drink and the slow service time.

Vena's is an exciting combination of craft cocktail bar, craft/handmade soda bar and mixology shop. I had the opportunity to talk to the owners for a bit, and they were kind and very knowledgeable. This was especially true about their expansive collection of bitters they have for sale, including their own line. They also sell the biggest variety of bar tools that I've seen in similar sized shops. The mocktail/soda line (including classics like "cherry phosphate") makes this a great place to bring kids! We tried two drinks marked "customer favorite" from the cocktail menu, and they did not disappoint! Their cocktails have entertaining names, and paired with their off-beat decor, it shows that they don't take themselves too seriously at Vena's, which is refreshing to see in the hipster-dominated craft cocktail space. Limited "bar snacks" are available, but there is no food menu per say. Check this place out before or after dinner.

Just try it. Their mixologists know know how to balance flavors. Their cocktails, and mocktails, are probably the best in Portland. A cozy place with some interesting retail and nice outdoor seating in the midst of the Old Port. And, OMG, the drinks are just fun.

Great place for drink with your friends who don't drink alcohol. While some drinks require a more adventurous appetit (even without the booze) there is plenty of exploration to be had here. Ad on top of it a knowable staff that will help you pick your next drink you have a winning combination.
Only down side was I wish there were a few more snacks or food, but that was only a complete from the younger members (5yo) of our group.
If you like "old fashioneds" they have everything you could possibly need to make a fantastic drink at home. My friends and I picked out items to give as Christmas gifts. We stood at the counter for several minutes and no one came to help us so we put our items back and left.
TRY THEIR VIRTUAL COCKTAIL/MOCKTAIL CLASSES!
Just did one and it was sooo much fun. I gifted a mocktail virtual class for a pregnant friend. Great idea not only during a pandemic, because it's virtual, but also for anyone who likes a delicious drink without the alcohol (I added alcohol to mine, so anyone can enjoy really).
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Steve lead our class and he was super nice and fun!
They send all the ingredients you will need for the class to your house so it's also very convenient and no need to go out grocery shopping (again, especially during a pandemic).
Fancy place, good atmosphere. Tried a mocktail and it *was* excellent. But everything is incredibly, massively, over-the-top overpriced expensive. The alcoholic drinks are about $15 each.
Love this place!!!! As if being transformed into an apothecary, they serve a array of cocktails with interesting bitters and is also available for purchase. There were some interesting glass wares on display and would like to revisit and see what gets served in them. The bartender was very knowledgeable and seem to love the craft, which made the drinking experience more exciting being able to geek out with a fellow enthusiast.

You can find a health lover's drink, a cocktail, a nosh, I'm pretty sure there's a full meal menu that I haven't tried yet, beautiful and unique service sets, and fantastically friendly and knowledgable service. Steve, one of the owners is a highlight, his relaxed and affable nature make the experience of stopping by for a drink, into an unexpected celebration.
Not only are the cocktails incredible, the mocktails and phosphates almost outshine them. We just went with a mix of drinkers and nondrinkers and had a blast.
