Delicious spaghetti and meatballs. Some freshly grated Parmesan would be nice but delicious all the same. Good sized portion. Great atmosphere on a busy Thursday night.

Bouncers kicked us out because they bumped into my friend dancing on the dance floor ... Unreasonable staff at a mediocre estaestablish
Food was amazing, however it took a very long time to come out. They forgot drinks that we ordered, mind you we weren't charged for them either. And when we said bye and thanks, we were ignored.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Love St Kilda. Good service. Will be back.
Due to a communication error, veludo upstairs was booked at the same time as my event and I nearly had to cancel the event. Fortunately, Dominic and the lovely manager were very kind and gave us a private room to have our event in. A night that could've ended in a disaster was redeemed by management in a very professional and kind manner.
Thank you Veludo team
Wednesday Steak Nights 250G Angus Porterhouse steak with chips and salad for $18 is a great deal! Nice restaurant and very good service on Achland Street in St.Kilda. Will be back!
Great messy burger, chips and sauces were fantastic and all for $15 lunch special. The decor was shabby chic, presentation nice and the great couches out front for people watching with a drink. Only downside was we weren't offered drinks at the start and our meal took a bit to come out so we were left waiting. Overall though not a bad place for lunch.
Super location top of acland street mall. Choice of street or interior seating. Interesting menu at fair price. Super staff. Happy hour rooftop. Good with kid. Great for people watching or read a book.
Came here for the big fight and it was a great place. We didn't fancy a pub venue so ended up here, it was quite cozy and the atmosphere is lovely. Staff were all very friendly and the prices are really good.
The Nutella hot chocolate is to die for!
Terrible steak. The supposed 250 gram eye fillet was the smallest steak that I have ever been served, it was closer to 100 grams at best. Ordered as medium rare this steak was served at an overcooked well done, dry and tough. The service was slow. Really the only good aspect of this restaurant is the atmosphere. I won't be going back
$14 dollar Parma special wasn t bad. Not amazing Parma and not bad either. Pretty solid. The beers on tap are minimal and not good ones, maybe they needed new kegs or something.
Also saw they have some great specials on drinks too
Food was great, staff seemed a little spaced out and inattentive. Had to order drink twice before it arrived
One of my favourite spots on Acland for a nice meal or a dance later in the night
Small but nice beer selection. Good food and amazing "terrace". Great music :-)
Food very ordinary. My omelette was dry.Why only one lousy piece of toast? Service was too slow. Food arrived too late- 30 mins .Wouldn't recommend
Good late bar/club, where most people end up when everything else on Acland st closes.
A grungy shopfront with a bar upstairs which is conveniently located at the end of the tram line on the quiet end of shopping strip. Staff were nice but lacked professionalism. Food was nice and had huge portion sizes. I felt that this place is for a low key lunch or dinner with a moderate price tag.
The glasses provided were absolutely filthy (3 of 3), however I didn't ask for another one - I just drank my beer from the bottle. Staff need to either scrub the grime and grease off these glasses, clean the dishwasher (if there is one) or get new glasses and start again.
Outdoor seating was adequate, but don't expect to seat a large group outside as the tables are quite small, enough for 2 people. There's a gas heater on the roof which is great for a cold night and an awning.
Restaurant signage looks tired, covered in webs, rusting and dull - could repair it and give the externals a fresh lick of paint for summer.
Green risotto with chicken was very nice and cooked well. It was creamy, hot and the flavour wasn't overwhelming. Portion size was huge and you will be comfortably full without finishing the meal.
Seafood linguine was also very nice and cooked well. The seafood was cooked more by special request. Pasta was cooked al dente and the food was full of flavour and a bit of heat. Portion size of pasta was huge, enough for 2 people.
Lost 2 stars due to filthy glasses which doubles as a lack of professionalism/pride within the venue and venue upkeep.
We were a group of 9 people, and that night, we greatly contributed to liven up the atmosphere of the bar. There were not many people, and we ordered a lot of drinks.
Despite that, at the closing time (which was announced at the last minute), the Veludo staff didn't leave us time to finish the round of drinks ordered only a few minutes earlier. Moreover, we have been literally kicked out of the place by a really rude guy, which seems to be the main bouncer.
Perhaps it would be time to teach politeness to the staff?
Ok place. Not a great place to spend more time. Rather it's better to sit outaide and enjoy. Feels claustrophobic inside. Needs to keep the washroom clean
Went there last night and was very quiet. Sat at a table of 3 and waited 20 minutes to be noticed. We order a cocktail each and waited another 20 mintues as the bar staff chatted away. On ordering the second round we were told after another 10 minutes that the bar was closed and if we wanted to go up stairs and order there. With such a competitive market guys, went elsewhere to spend our money. Very disappointing venue. Wont be back!
Went for the shopper docket deal. Still expensive. Food was very good
Fairly standard restaurant along Ackland st. Food took a while to get out considering we were one of 2 tables there. Average all around.
Great food, well mixed dance tracks at the club upstairs. Best bit is full open windows and heating, so smokers dont have to stand outside in the cold and elements. Nice.
Now that was the best meal out in a long time, and we certainly will be back again. Fantastic service, amazing food and delicious baverages great place to frequent sitting outside watching the world go by. Thank you for a great experience
My partner and I went here for breakfast. Yummy. They oven bake there hashbrowns so there not soggy, bacon mmmm lots of bacon crispy my fave. Staff were lovely! Already have told people to go here hehe
Great food, great service, fantastic location. Enjoyed the tasting plate for entree, and the main meals were excellent. Would happy to go back!
Great place for a quick meal and a drink.
Salad was excellent value for money
Risotto a bit on the small side but very tasty
Beer on tap and great variety at the bar
Went to Valudo for our anniversary on Saturday night. We made in VERY clear my partner was Celiac. We where given back a menu "supposibly from the chef" of items that where suitable for her to eat. We where assured care would be taken and the only food we ordered was from that menu. My partner ended up very ill in hospital after a gluten spike. Spending 6 hours in hospital because of Valudos carelessness is not the way i intended to spend my anniversary. In future you need to create greater awarness with your staff, this is a very serious matter and if your staff say that the meal is "GLUTEN FREE" people will trust them. I hope this experiance never happens to anyone else who eat at your restaraunt.
Came in for Wilder v Fury II expecting cheap drinks as advertised cheap drinks all day everyday. Bar staff said no. Management decided to mark prices up by 80% on fight night on the hope of making an extra buck. Upon leaving, lo and behold the cheap drinks sign was back up because nobody was buying any drinks. Shocking. Best thing about this place is the cheap drinks. The ambience is dull, it feels dusty and the lighting is in major need of an overhaul. It is also the first BYO food I ve seen along Acland St. I had a delicious toasted sandwich from across the road.
Great for a relaxing arvo sesh, head upstairs and grab a stool overlooking eclectic acland street, half price cocktails kick in from 5pm. Just remember to eat something!
Great staff, friendly & attentative. Loved watching the world go by.
We popped in for a coffee during lunch about a week ago but didn't order food as none of us were particularly hungry. During a busy lunch service, you'd expect the staff to be a bit grumpy about this, but since the staff were so lovely and everyone else's plates looked delicious we were keen to come back and try again... So we did!
Looks can often be deceiving, but the food being brought out of the kitchen actually is delicious, the staff just as friendly when we returned, and the atmosphere buzzing. The prices are not too outrageous considering this is Acland Street, and I'd recommend this as a great spot for dinner.
Customer service very questionable... our waiter took our order we only received one drink out of five he then returned fifteen minutes later to try and take our order again this is where we had to remind him that he had already taken our order then he tells us that we will not be receiving the drinks we ordered because they discontinued cocktail production... however we had already paid for the drinks. This is not to mention the bread and dips order we made that arrived with only one dip despite being advertised as dips. In saying this, the food and drinks were very nice. I would recommend this place if you are after good food and drinks but don t care if you receive everything you pay for.
ALSO THE CHIPS WERE UNDERCOOKED!
Great food, atmosphere, drinks and waiters. Everyone who eats there is funny and nice, perfect for a family dinner or a function.
Really good platter of tapas to share, really good food,
Always a great place to stop and have a coffee and a bite to eat well priced and awesome staff
Illy friends and I were unable to get a seat as it was trivia night, we really just wanted dinner, the staff were nice enough though.
Very cosy atmosphere. Steak night on Wednesday is an absolute good value option.
Was only upstairs however it was really nice and drinks where cheap before 9
This bar / club can get sometimes get very busy, backpackers come here a lot because it's so close and they occasionally hand out vouchers to use on special nights. There is nothing special about Veludos though, it's a bit rundown. I'd compare it to a sticky floored student club from back in England. 3*
Downstairs is something i highly recommend for a nice cheap drink with delicious food, however the vibe upstairs is a little bit shabby. The drinks were priced very low which was awesome but brings in a bit of a suspicious crowd.
Other than that it was enjoyable if you ignore some of the patrons inside.
Well we drove 45 min to St Kilda to have one of the most regretful breakfasts. I should have known when I have to get my own menu. The restaurant was not busy and the sign stated under new management. Well I think they need another change of some kitchen staff. From the time we ordered to when we got our meals was 47 minutes. On inquiring on the delay I was told by the manager I ordered only 25 minutes ago not the real 47 minutes. Lies I am not prepared to tolerate.
On the food my wife loved hers but mine was some elements hot and the others cold.
For me never again.
Great place if you enjoy waiting 15 minutes at the front of the bar for a drink.
We had a early 6:30 dinner with a friend who lives around the corner from Veludo. She is a regular there and is working her way through the menu. So recommendations of what was on offer were plenty. I was not that hungry so had the Steak sandwich which was tender, could have come without the cheese personally. Two others had the Barramundi which by accounts was moist and plated well. The calamari salad looked appetising, the straight lengths of calamari looked odd. The wines on offer were impressive.
Not bad at al! Love this bar, find myself here every Friday.
Fun place to be on a Friday. Although the floors are super sticky and smells of cigarettes. Music is hit or miss but still a good time
Can t really complain about the service as there was none. I took a table outside but took nearly 10 minutes for anyone to come out. Has to ask for a menu. When it was brought to me, there was no drinks menu provided. Took nearly another 10 minutes for someone to come & take my order. Indeed I had decided I d get up & leave wothe waitress finally came out.
When my meal finally arrived the garlic bread was stale & rockhard. I could only eat the upper portion. The Parma was fine. Side salad was very average. Upon finishing my meal I had to flag down a waitress in order to pay. I was never checked on once. Was not a pleasant experience at all
Awesome drink deals on Friday with a very diverse crowd
Great night club on ackland st.
Staff and good and the security are nice as well. Has a smoking area upstairs. Two dj rooms. Womens restrooms are big and spacious.
Considering how packed it gets on a weekend night, and how rowdy and rude the customers can be, these guys are killing it.
Patrons tend to be backpackers, or people in their 20s.
Bartending is hard especially at night clubs where the patrons can betrate you. So if it takes awhile to get a drink, glasses that need to be collected, or if they mess up your order. Remember that their people, are working for minimum wage, and are trying to make everyone have a great time while following RSA.
Great job guys!
Great music, great food, great service, great prices...will definitely go back again when we are in St Kilda
Had a great dining with my husband. Groupon deal includes a bit of limit when you select menu.
Went on a living social voucher, they were super accommodating and the food was great
The customer service is pretty terrible. The coffee isnt great. But it has wifi.
Went to Veludo last night using a scoopon deal , had some great food , service was friendly and the entire experience was awesome , will defiantly go there again :)
Live music Thuradays, banging djs, drinks reasonable and a lookout over Melbourne's famous Acland St.
Simply really good food, pleasant, friendly staff and a nice vibrant but peaceful atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Indoor/outdoor restaurant in the heart of St Kilda. Good quality dinner and breakfast and efficient and friendly staff.
Great place to drink beer and good parties on weekends.
Great food and service. Good place to meet as it's in a convenient location on Acland street.
Friendly team, nice venue. Very busy most of the time, and some of the staff are unsure on most dietary requirements
Terrible. Went upstairs, "we don't really have cocktails" Had to help bartender with drink, then charged for two shots, cuz they don't make cocktails. Unreal. Avoid at all costs!!
Not what it used to be :( food was extremely disappointing.
