Veludo Bar and Restaurant Review

Atrocious service. Every time we ve attempted a visit the bar staff (3-4 of them) have been hiding around the corner in bar with their feet literally up on the benches chatting. We waited over half hour the first time for a simple menu. Just tried again and exactly the same. Absolutely disgusting service .

Great cocktails, great outdoor terrace, great live music

5/5 for the food but toilet was smelly. lovely food and beer free WiFi great service.

Very nice place for backpackers to go on a Friday night for veeery cheap drinks and nice vibe at the bar!

Great place. Beautiful bread and dips and also risotto and pork belly were delish. Service was fab, friendly and welcoming.

The bouncer earned 5 of these stars. The rest of the place was good too. But that guy remembers everyone's name. Feels good. Love it. Give him a raise!

Not a bad joint, and great to check out some live music bands

Parma is very overpriced, $24 is a proper pub Parma but all they serve is a sad circle of chicken with a mix of iceberg lettuce and tomatoes masquerading as a salad. Reduce your price, or improve the Parma.

Great to see that this place still exists. I worked here as a kitchen hand in 2004 for a couple of month. Delicious food and fun staff back at that time.Hope to be back one day for some dinner and drinks sometime.

Walked in on a sunny hot Sunday and discovered not only a cool, relaxing bar but some great live music from a young guy and girl strumming away and fantastic service from bar staff who complied with any silly little request. Well worth checking out :)

Went there looking for the manager who owes me money but he wasn't there

Very disappointed. We came for the pork belly which was on the online menu and it's not on their menu. They have run out of spaghetti, had no Parmas or coffee????? Not many people here but food has taken more than 30 mins to come and 2 of our meals were luke warm at best. Won't be coming again.....

If you are looking to have a function in the garden bar DON'T BOTHER they will not keep the public out of your SUPPOSEDLY designated area. People were allowed to smoke in this area whilst we were trying to eat.The Manager was rude when one of the organisers of our function asked him a simple Question.Then had the ordacity to tell some of our guests to move from where was not our area when our space was over run by people not in our party.Not to mention some of our female guests being hit on by sad old men. I thought the idea of having a function area was to be able to enjoy being with your friends and not having to be bothered by these sorts. Yes we were aware that it was a public bar but was assured we would have a designated area until 11pm that public were not allowed in.Obviously this is currently a trendy place to go at the moment given their attitude not for long.

Great setting, service, food and cocktails

Used to be really great food, now very disappointing

Myself, husband and 2 kids had dinner at Veludo lastnight. The food was lovely, the service from the 2 lady waitresses was perfect and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely return for another meal and suggest you give it a go. Thanks for a lovely evening.

The servers tonight (handsome gentleman and beautiful lady) were very attentive and genuinely accommodating. They asked twice we were enjoying the food. We ordered the specials for tonight, the chicken parma and steak and it was absolutely delicious. We will definitely come back

I am a regular customer food great, customers service is great etc.

Great staff great food and love the sticky date pudding. Great for groups or couples. It has an open dining experience with heating indoors and outdoors. Great selection of cocktails. The portions are great for me I felt satisfied and very full but a bit small for a bigger appetite. Husband would have liked more in his plate but both of us enjoyed the food very much. Will happily visit again

Balcony upstairs is a good place to watch St kilda go by.

Terrible service on Saturday night, sat at table for 20 mins before waitress came to see if we wanted to order drinks - no drinks menu on table, so had to wait some more. Drinks and meals ordered soon after, waited, waited and then waited some more for drinks to arrive - they did after asking where they were. waited a further 55 mins for meals to come out, in this time people that had come in some time after us, had been served their meals. Waitress very apologetic - however meals sub standard and definitely not worth the money or wait! Wont be going back.

Tap beer is weak and tasteless, save your calories and go elsewhere

Great meal last night. Lovely Irish waitresses and a great chef that came out and asked us how the meal was. Great touch! How refreshing and irregular. We loved our meal, the cosy atmosphere by tea light candle and the warm staff.

Nice and cosy place. We had a Groupon voucher and everything was good. Not many vegetarian options though. They do Very nice Hot Toddies.
Most of the staff were friendly. Some could be a bit more friendly. Good experience overall.

My boyfriend had a steak sandwich, which he said was quite tasty. Girl who served us was friendly enough and drink selection was fine. I can only just give it 3 stars (considered two, but boyfriends food WAS nice) because I had an incredibly salty risotto. It was quite unpleasant and all I tasted was salt. Barely got other flavours, just their texture and they all just tastes entirely of salt. Suspect incredibly salty stock or cheese, which can be fixed to turn it into a delicious risotto. It was creamy and well cooked but the salt ruined the whole thing.

Enjoyed my eye fillet steak with a side of spicy Brussels sprouts. Cocktails and desserts were also lovely. We sat near the fire but still found it very cold as the front doors are totally open and exposed to the winter weather. Overall, a good experience. Will come back when the weather is better.

Recently visited Veludo for lunch with friends on a Saturday. The food was really delicious, I had the harissa lamb with greek salad and it was great! Friends also enjoyed their meals. We look forward to returning for dinner sometime.

Great place to chill and people watch in the heart of St Kilda.

Had tasting platter as entree and steak for main, both were cooked perfectly fine. The downer for me was that the venue didn't have any proper cooling arrangement, there was an aircon but that was barely working. Given that it was a 35 degrees day the dining experience was uncomfortable.

Always had a good time! Deffo a good spot, usually on a Thursday night
