While taking in our vehicle on a warranty repair, ...

While taking in our vehicle on a warranty repair, we asked the service advisor if they would also look at another warranty repair if they had time. He stated that yes, they indeed would. There was never a mention of cost with what was being done because as I made sure it was covered under bumper to
bumper warranty, as the vehicle still has bumper to bumper (FROM FACTORY) warranty. It is under the miles AND the years to still be under warranty. When we went to retrieve our vehicle from the service being done - we were told that we had a total to pay of over $200. I quickly mentioned about the warranty, and the service advisor agreed, but mentioned that we would still have to pay for the diagnostic of the caused issue -$67.70. I stated that I was not paying the said amount, because our vehicle is covered under bumper to bumper. The advisor said ok, let me see what I can do. In the meantime - who I thought was a manager, which turned out to be the OWNER came out to the service bay, I quickly told him what was going on, and he stated that he disagrees with my husband and I and that we still have to pay for diagnostics, while also saying NOTHING IN LIFE IS FREE. I once again referenced back to that our vehicle is covered under bumper to bumper, so therefore what we had done, we have and are paying for. While referencing that - the OWNER asked where did you purchase your vehicle? We told, and his response loudly was YOU DIDN T BUY IT FROM ME, I DON T OWE YOU ANYTHING. While throwing his hands up. I was completely taken back, and absolutely astounded by the disrespect that Jim Scherer presented to me, not only around me but also around my two children under the age of 3. It doesn t matter if I purchased my Lincoln in California, New Hampshire, or from him, his dealership is a Certified Lincoln dealership. If I bought a vehicle from him, and took it to a certified Lincoln dealership in another town or state, I can guarantee that is not the response or the way I would be treated. Shortly after, we called my Mother In Law who is a senior council attorney for Nissan of America, and she stated that he is indeed wrong, and that Lincoln will reimburse him for the amount of the warranty work. We are also part of the Piazza family, whom own many car dealerships in the Philadelphia area, they too have stated that he was incorrect and they would never treat ANY of their customers with such disrespect. Not only did we pay Jim Scherer, but he will also get paid by Lincoln. Shady practice, and complete unprofessionalism. We were indeed looking at a vehicle to purchase off of his showroom floor, but after that incident I would gladly give my hard earned money to someone who appreciates and cares about customer service. Someone who WILL NOT YELL, at their customers. I will not support this type of behavior, around me nor my children. I will never recommend anyone to purchase from him, and I ve also advised our many friends who drive Lincoln s to divert giving them business, and instead someone who will appreciate the business.

Very bad service department. Had Volvo in to shop twice for brakes. Were told the brakes were fine. Went in for an oil change and was told the brakes had the wrong pads. Won't be going back. Went to the dealership in the Quad Cities instead.

I bought a car a year ago this month. Decided to buy the bumper to bumper package as well as the Simonize package to protect the interior...DON T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! When you try to make a claim not only do you get the run around, but trying to get an answer is like pulling teeth! I m from out of town and if pictures were taken on 6/11 for a claim and it is now 8/1 I should have an answer or some updates, CRICKETS! I m disappointed with the customer service from both the vendor and dealership. Obviously there is NO service after the sale!

Have used them for years for servicing our Volvos. They're very accommodating when making an appointment . Customer focused. Car is always washed and ready when promised. Also, the shuttle service is very handy when we need it. Their service provides good value for protecting our Volvo "investment".

My Volvo needed an oil change and received just that. The service people went out of their way to make me feel at home and the oil change as well as their extensive inspection was done in a very short amount of time.

I don t know how many people don t negotiate when buying cars, but you come at me with a complete insult, don t come out your office acting like a D**k and I won t call you one I was already leaving and because you don t like a word a customer who has bought cars there and has them serviced warranty work done at the dealership. You tell to leave and keep running your mouth as they are walking away. Yes then I want to speak to your boss seriously you should have stopped as I was already heading out the door then you threaten to call the cops. You my friend are a joke. I now see why it s not very busy, I talk with one of your owners sitting in his office because you didn t call the cops as the rest of the people you work with looked at you as dumb founded as I did. You owner just takes your side bad management. My next interaction will me with Lincoln and let them know the service and the way you treat customers. I m sorry this dealership has good salesmen and crappy upper management. By the way spend more time keeping your cars clean and maybe they wouldn t be such a turn off to customers I ve seen baby diapers cleaner then your cars.

Jimmy Scherer the owner of this location is not the man he appears. He is extremely abusive behind the scenes and has a volatile temper. He treats his employees with such disrespect that he has run his company in the ground. Their prices can be beaten so shop somewhere else.

Excellent store.

Need a great car buying experience without over-spending on your next wheels? Visit Velde Lincoln. I just got a great deal and dealt with some great guys that were fun to work with and were not pushy in the least.

Spend your money somewhere more deserving. The owner Jim Scherer is the epitome of arrogant and hostile. He has zero customer service.

If you purchase a car there, and you leave it there a few days prior to pickup so that that they can make the promised necessary repairs, and they re Not repaired when you go to pick up the car, do Not drive off the lot on a gentleman s agreement of bring it back next week, and we ll take care of it . That day will never come, and Jimmie will never ever return your call. He s taught his receptionists to say I m sorry, he must have just left for the day , even though when you ask for him, they say he s in. If you do happen to catch him, he ll gladly curse and threaten you, probably in the hopes of intimidating you.

And their we promise sheet (wherein they give you a free service, like an oil change) , is only good for thirty days... as he said read the fine print . Even when you do schedule that free oil change , confirm the appointment the day before, and show up on date of appointment; you re not on their books for the appointment and end up having to reschedule . A joke to say the least . Oh I got the oil change (in the event Mr. Scherer responds and says you got your oil change ,), but he s not standing behind something that broke while in their care. It might have been a fine establishment at one point in time, but I have no doubt he ll run it into the ground with his hateful demeanor.

Oh but after the oil change, he wanted me to give a good review . I don t think so, Mr Scherer . I have no doubt all the four and five star reviews were coerced.

I bought a USED car, recommended by my grandfather who has always bought Lincolns from here. The power steering pump wasn't operating correctly when I bought the car so it was repaired free of charge. It was only supposed to take a few hours but the wrong part was ordered TWICE (the second time I had been sitting there for about an hour and a half before being told) so that turned in to three days I was without a car. Mistakes happen though right? Then noticed I was losing power steering fluid rapidly so brought it in and they tried to charge me for a hole in the power steering line, not even a month after being repaired. After further discussion, it was "fixed" free of charge. I have had this car for about three months now, and I am still having to fill my power steering reservoir every two weeks, and paying for $500+ work for other problems on the car. I thoroughly expressed to this dealership that I needed a RELIABLE car as I am a college student, living two hours away from home, paying her own bills.. I am extremely disappointed, especially after originally feeling very well taken care.

Great experience. Travis, our sales rep, was very knowledgable and helpful. Dale, the sales manager, was great as well, they were able to locate a vehicle and get it to us within 48 hours even though it was states away and a holiday weekend. We price shopped and called around and no one, NO ONE, in the midwest was able to beat their price.

We cautioned them that we would have our two small, loud, (and probably impatient) children with us when signing final paperwork, so they had everything already coordinated with the bank of our choice and our insurance so our final paperwork was done in less than 20 minutes. And they were amazingly accommodating.

Both of us having backgrounds in sales, we will happily walk away from any customer service experience if we feel pushed, or misled in anyway and happily take our business elsewhere. Never was that a question when working with the Velde Team.

They were excellent, customer focused, and you could tell it was a great environment not only for the customers, but also for the employees.

They have earned our business for years to come, and we will definitely be going back here for our next Volvo purchase.

Customer service for our Volvo was outstanding. Matt and Brittney are fantastic. Matt went above and beyond to help us with warranty issues when we purchased our Volvo out of state. There was absolutely no run around or push back when we needed help. We have always had our previous Volvo s maintained by the staff. We can t say enough good things about the service department.

My experience with the owner Jim Scherer was less than impressive. He acted very friendly at first but like Jekyll and Hyde he changed. Reading some other reviews I see this was not a one time event. He yelled and cusses like a immature child. I was offended and shocked. Go somewhere else.

As we drove off after our last visit for a tire rotation and oil change we remarked that it's always a pleasant experience every time we go. We've bought two sets of tires and had miscellaneous routine service - big and small - done. That's the reason we drive from Lexington to Peoria rather than going to the dealer in Bloomington/Normal where that was never the case. Thanks!!!

My light for ABS and City Safety came on so I made an appointment to have it checked out. At some point a mechanic had cut the ABS wires and reconnected them with an improper connection. 3 different locations had looked at that corner of the car in the 159,XXX miles so I was not surprised that all 3 businesses assured me it did not happen there. I received my quote to fix the problem and came be=ack in for the work. The final bill was just over $100 more than I was quoted and both the service wroter and I am guessing Mgr looked at the bill and assured me it was correct. I have managed a car repair store and would have personally eaten the $100 before I would have let a customer leave not satisfied. Assure you I will never darken their door again. Brad Forkner

Update. The new owner called and had a pleasant discussion about his challenges getting the right people in place and avoiding the glitches. I am being issued a check for the difference of the quote and the bid. Thanks Mr. Scherer.
