Vehicle Control Services Ltd. Review

This is the most incompetent and arrogant company I have ever encountered. They claim to have developed VCS Vision, a low cost way of managing car parks but the system is fallible. How do I know? Because I have received two tickets for a "phantom" over-stay. On both occasions the system managed to record the entry time for one visit to a supermarket and the exit time for another. The two separate visits were within the rules of the car park.
This is regarded by the company and the "alleged" accreditation agency the Independent Parking Committee (how it can claim independence when it exists through the membership fees paid by companies like Vehicle Parking Control is a mystery to me).
If you are a car park or land owner looking to maximise your profits look elsewhere - you don't want to be associated with this company. They are have no moral compass - either in denial or don't care about the misery they cause.

I can t find the right word to describe these bunch conns.

Awful company. Fined me in 2016, disputed it as it was an error with the camera not picking up my car entering the car park on one or more occasions. Not heard anything from them and then 3 years later they've put a CCJ on my credit file!!!!

What an appalling company, screwing me over with a CCJ, with no evidence to back their claim, relying on me paying in fear of the CCJ sticking - Wish I had the balls to take them to court where I'm certain their abcence of evidence ( I called them and asked them, they had none to show me, the date of the claim is 4 years ago!), alas, I still run the risk of the ccj sticking and the know this and exploit it - what an apalling way to make a living! Sent me a NTK with the incorrect address to where i had parked on the notice. I appealed this and have (eventually) been told by them that it doesnt matter! If you want to bully people and take all their money, atleast get the details right!

Fined at Liverpool John Lennon Airport for 30 second stop. Appeal procedure impossible to grasp or appeal. Phoned from Dublin Ireland it was Disconnected 3 times by them before I could speak 45 mins later I gave up. VCS only's interest is achieving Revenue by any means.

I received a parking charge back in September for staying too long in the car park but I had left and returned 4 hours later. They refuse to accept their system is faulty and all my appeals have been a complete waste of time even though I have photos and 7 witnesses. Now I can't get through to their litigation department via phone or email. Worst company ever. DISGRACEFUL and DISGUSTING. Should be an option to give 0 stars

I've said this before (about Excel Parking Services, of which VCS is a subsidiary): don't use VCS's own appeals system, which is rigged towards themselves. Instead, put pressure on the landlords/landowners of the car parks who have employed VCS, and get them to terminate the tickets. It worked for me, when VCS attempted to penalise me for parking at work. Take their business away from them.

Called these guys and was on the phone for over 45 mins and no reply.
Useless customer service.
No valid reason for such a ridiculously high charge.
Totally corrupt and unregulated.
Sincerely hope the people who run this company have an awful accident.

This company is totally incompetent and only interested in in revenue enhancement. After agreeing to waive the fine they continued to bill me at regular intervals. Now I have another one after never receiving a parking ticket, using a 'Solicitor' that the Fraud dept is investigating as the individual claims to be a solicitor but is not registered with the Law Society.

These clowns need to be regulated. How can they get away with their treatment of the public????

I paid for a monthly permit and was asked to display booking confirmation in windscreen to avoid being ticketed. I displayed and was ticketed, twice in 2 days. Having paid and displayed, I disputed tickets, now going back and forth with a legal company despite them having all the evidence...

Is this company a scam have tried to contact them about my fine NO ANSWER. paid my fine requested confirmation and paid for the privilage but NO CONFIRMATION SENT .

I have a fine for an over stay, that's what they say, the fact that i had been in and out during that time hasn't been registered.
I will be having my day in court.

I parked in (what I thought) was a visitor space. No signs or markings on the space. I wrote to contest the ticket on these grounds and they wrote back asking for me to send them my parking permit. They have NOT read my letter at all.

What an amazing company - all the staff must be incredibly proud of themselves, soldiering on through the rigours of a global pandemic to find 5 year old "parking tickets" to pursue. It's such a relief to know that the County Courts have plenty of time to spare for important legal milestones such as this and making life as difficult as possible for innocent delivery drivers just trying to do their job safely.

This company lives off the minor errors, parking permit not displayed, of others, even when the parking space is owned by the owner of the property!!! They pursue you with intimidating paperwork until you capitulate. These organisations need to be eradicated.

I stopped my car due to a red warning STOP light coming on my dash, as I was on my way to the Audi garage on the estate that they "manage" in Wakefield (Calder Park) - when within 10 seconds (yes that quick) the little car with its camera on did an emergency stop and U-turn to capture a photo of me - I tried to get out and explain my predicament to the Ars*-hole to no avail because he drove off.

Companies like this are the lowest of the low, and do not understand the word fair.

You have a legal right to ask for them to give you all the data they hold on you under the GDPR. It's called a Subject Access Request (SAR) and they must (legally) respond within one month of your request. It's easy for you to ask them and if they fail to respond they may be fined by the ICO. You can search how to submit a SAR on t'Interweb. You're welcome.

These vermin got me issued a CCJ for a parking fine I wasn t aware of during the middle of the Covid pandemic despite sending the correspondence to an address I haven t lived at for over 18 months so I had no right of reply. There is no law that states you're required to pay these daylight robbers, they are simply requesting that you do so. A "Parking Charge Notice" is a notice, NOT a bill; and should not be considered anything but a notice.
I am only obliged by law to pay bills, not notices, not invoices, but bills.
So, in the nicest way possible: Go and do one you shallow, half-witted, pseudo-intellectual, invertebrate scum that you are!

It blows the mind how it can be legal to secretly give someone a debt, making it impossible to pay as they are not aware of it, then ruin their mortgage prospects for the next 6 years.

Never in my life have I experienced a bigger set of vile leaches. Using legal loopholes to scam money out of road users and sugar coat/justify it by claiming they are enforcing parking laws.

Incidentally folks - you have no need to pay these fines if you feel that they are unjust. This outfit are not the council or the police and have no method of enforcement other than through a court order so there is absolutely no point in paying anything until you have your day in court (which will never happen as it is just too much hassle).

I am still on hold waiting to speak to someone after waiting two and a half hours. Absolute disgrace.

Would give zero stars if I could. My husband got a ticket for stopping for 1 minute. He appealed and asked for proof that they had permission from the landowner which they refused to give.
They provided this information when the case went to court which was for a totally different road to where my husband had stopped. Needless to say the judge ruled in our favour. VCS have wasted our time and the courts time for nothing. Serves them right for being greedy money grabbing b****rds.

Parking restrictions on 206-216 in my area. I live at 218 and get TWO fines. My bays are CLEARLY marked. Not happy.

Refuse to pay and elect to go to court. A court in pretty-much all cases will throw their claim out, as they have no legal right to "fine" you. What in essence they are issuing you with is an invoice. You're not entering into an agreement/contract with them, when you drive onto the land in question, so the invoice is not worth the paper it's issued on. You just need to have the wherewithal to go through with it. It's just a thug outfit and you need to stand your ground.

As a resident of one of the properties this company manages I was shocked at how they enforce parking rules.
We have to display a permit to park which we understand and agree with. When this company took over from the previous parking management company we weren't given a permit, we emailed the letting agents and this company on numerous occasions to get a permit and inspight of all our attempts no permit came for months, in the mean time they were putting tickets onto my car!
I left letters in the car window which they ignored, why?

This company only seemed interested in putting tickets on cars rather than getting me a permit.
Where in the parking rules does it say their vehicles are allowed to park in residents spaces without any permit....I have photographed them doing exactly what they're prosecuting us for, where does it say, their veichles are exempt from their own rules?
Their appeal process is laughable, I put in my appeal explaining I'd tried on numerous occasions to get a permit as I lived in the building, it was ignored without explanation...that's not an appeal process!
I understand we have to have companies that enforce parking but this was boarding on persecution, day after day another ticket in full knowledge that I couldn't get a permit because nobody would give me a permit.

Absolute disgrace of a company. I was sent a parking charge notice over 4 years ago as my car number plates were cloned. I appealed with clear evidence, they ignored it. Ther debt recovery company listened and sent them the notice back telling them the case was closed due to the fraud. 4 yrs later they tried to take me to court for an excessive amount, even offered a lower amount to settle but I was willing to go to court. In the end it hasn't gotten there as today the court struck out their claim as their claim was overly inflated compared to the original charge. My advice is, if you parked illegally, take your medicine and pay the initial charge but if not don't cave in to this bad company who clearly have no ethics or morals.

Leaches. I beat them in court today. The judge ruled against them claiming I was parked in a restricted zone when there were no markings to designate the restrictions. The worst bit was i sent a few things to them in the court process and they denied receipt. They even returned a cheque that I sent after they said they had never received it. They are scum who prey on thise who are scared and cough up.

I was given a ticket when I actually had a valid ticket on display, I cotested it and was informed they had reviewed circumstances but did not agree and told me that if i didnt pay within the time period the fee wouuld be double. I paid but I appealed to indepentent authority - which took 6 months and my appeal was upheld.
I have been asking the Vehicle Control Service for a refund since July but nothing - not even a response. its disgraceful.

In February 2014 they ticketed the whole car park (had a security entrance only accessible with fob) for not displaying parking permits. It had been a cold night the night before, and every car window was iced over.

Around a year and a half later (August 2015) I received a notice through the post saying I would be charged for not displaying a permit. It did not include a photo, and simply stated car park "echo". After some digging, I realised where it was. The notice did not come directly from VCS but came from a debt recoveries agency.

I appealed via their process, requested photos etc, never received a single response.

Now, a further year on from that (July 2016) I have received a letter through the post from "specialists in legal recoveries" stating that I now owe even more money.

Needless to say they won't get a penny from me, however I will respond and record my evidence as before.

Disgusting practise, they should all be shot.

They have ignored the law in that they can only take the registered keep er to court if they follow the correct procedure , thye have ignored this despite having been rebuked by a judge before for this .

VCS is a terrible company, which seems to be completely unable to cope with the simplest process. In July I appealed a parking notice as it was obvious that they had made a mistake (I have clear photographic evidence). At first they said it would take them 28 days to deal with; it was then extended for another 28 days. I have just heard that they will now reply by October--presumably to put me on hold for another 28 days. I estimate the issue would take an average employee five minutes to resolve. What is wrong with them? Are they a scam? Are they in some kind of financial trouble?

This company completely ignored my appeal letter and never acknowledged my defense. When you call they dont answer & i then received a court claim through the public claims process thats an online service!

STAND YOUR GROUND WITH THESE COWBOYS! I was issued a ticket for failing to display my permit at 5am in my own car park. They tried their usual bullying tactics. I let it get all the way to court. Court session began and it transpired they hadn't sent me their evidence. When the judge went through it, turns out they had submitted inaccurate photographs of another car park. She dismissed the case as their evidence was unreliable. They will do whatever they can to try and get money from you but stand your ground, let it go to court and fairness and justice will prevail!

Challenged my Parking Charge Notice from VCS from October 2014, which ended up in court today. I won; case dismissed. The judge threw out the claim in 5 minutes, as VCS could not prove I had paid by phone (RingGo). VCS wardens don't seem to check that you've paid by phone and therefore you don't need to display a ticket, so you will likely get a ticket if the phone payment system fails on you. Be aware.
VCS use bully boy tactics and are a disgrace. Do not be afraid of them and challenge when you know are in the right.

I own a paring space in a private apartment block tht is controlled by them, I called them to remove a carl that is parked in my bay and they left it alone and ticketed my car! Useless

DISGUSTING. I have appealed twice, after one of your customer service representatives told me to email in with my circumestances so the ticket can be reset to the original charge. I never recieved any response to my email, only to recieve a final demand in the post a few weeks later. I appealed this, in writing and to no surprise at all, it was totally ignored. This morning I've recieved a letter from Money Claims Online because YOU have not corresponded to me at all and given me ill advice over the telephone.

Received an invoice stuck to my window for parking in a bay which I lease from my landlord the morning after my 6-month permit had expired. They aren't getting a penny from me.

My partner had a CCJ made against her because she moved address shortly after the 'offence'. She received NO communication whatsoever from VCS and is now having the judgement set aside, which is a very long drawn out process. We will be suing them for compensation in a counterclaim.

this is a despicable operation in place. I was parked at a friends flat in Preston in September 2016. I wasn't made aware that I had to have a parking permit displayed in my window. It is impossible to get in touch with a human being at this company (for obvious reasons, their telephone workers would be committing suicide)



I was then refereed onto their henchman "Debt Recovery Plus" and threatened with court and all sorts.

These people are sharks. If you ignore all correspondence they will not take you to court because this means they will have to outlay some money to do so. Eventually they will go away. If you respond then they know they've got you. If (in the unlikely event) the do take you to court simply move it from their chosen court to one near you and they will back down because it's not worth their while.
