This was the last place that my dad visited other than ICU, then Hospice. He went to heaven 8 days later after he was admitted to Vantage Point.

My mom also was better going in, than coming out. She was sent to ICU, due to a fall after, what I believe, being medicated, and given no fall protection. They were aware that she was a fall risk. I was told this prior to admittance, due to medication changes. I was also told that they would take care of her as if "she was my mother", by the assessor that is employed by the organization.

She had her accident/incident less than 24 hours after being admitted. They did not ask for transport to hospital for approximately 3+ hours after accident/incident. I believe they delayed transport for Social Security payment reasons, but, that is just my opinion. The reason I believe this is that Vantage Point is billing me for my dad's visit (less than 24 hours), and I was told that it would be covered by Social Security, since it was a "skilled nursing facility".

My mother passed away a month later.

IMO, my parents' accelerated demise was due to Vantage Point lack of supervision and care. This review is my opinion, along with the facts, as I know them. This was my experience that I have decided to share to, hopefully, help others.

I had a great experience at this facility. I have been to one other facility in the past and I can really tell the difference. The process starts with a FREE assessment and it was done relatively quickly. The staff were empathetic and seemed to really care about helping me. Once I got on the unit I met with other staff who were equally helpful. I got to meet with my doctor and therapist while here and my stay was actually pretty comfortable. I don't really have any complaints about the facility or the staff. I was especially pleased with the beginning stages as I was desperate for help and I got it quickly. The hospital is open 24/7 and an assessment can be done without an appointment.

Some time later one of my friends went to this facility and had a similar experience. I was able to visit with her on the phone and on site during visitation hours.

Check the place out. It's clean and there's nothing you can really lose by having an assessment done by their friendly and efficient staff!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!! I wanted to give this recomendation for Vantage Point. This hospital has been very good for me. They work very hard to make sure their patients are well taken care of. I felt lucky to be here for in-house stay and now for IOP. If you need help emotionally this is the place to be.

Okay, this place isn't 100% horrible in acute unit. They treated me well, the staff was opened but also didn't alliw substances of any kind to be talked about for those who are sensitive to them. I saw a doctor everyday of the week except weekends, but the nurses gave me everything I needed. The kids were out of control at night but they controlled them ( i was even one that was out of control, they made sure everyone was safe.) The food is over heated and not too bad though. I did get kicked out because I got into the fight, but there were many fights, but I was the only one to get kicked out. They do help drug addicts in acute unit. I knew one of them. This is all my experience from acute unit. No I wasn't 100% better because after all I got in trouble and got kicked out.

Wonderful experience here. Was diagnosed accurately and treated with respect and dignity. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the food was not very nurtitious or balanced. However I understand that this is about mental health.

Horrible been on the phone trying to get threw to my sister on the sub acute unit for over 24 mins now and they won't answer everyone else is trying to get me threw there. I live in indiana and we are an hour ahead so calling hours are late for us and it's a bit crazy to have someone wait that long....plus it is rude they need to fix the sub acute. Daisy was wonderful though. Ridiculous!

I stayed here one week almost one year ago to this day. When I think of Vantage Point, I remember one very nice nurse and mostly being disrespected and ignored because I was in a wheelchair. It was an overall very bad experience. I rated it fair due to the fact that it made me want to live again and I realized that I wasn't so suicidal after all. I made my decision to go to Vantage Point and then I made my decision to live and let others know that this place is for people who can walk and who are not in chronic pain like me. I advise you to go there only if you can walk and you can do your own laundry and carry your own tray. You will not be helped much if you are in a wheelchair and some of the nurses mocked my condition which was uncalled for. Nurses screamed at some of the patients because apparently they get away with it there. Really bad experience overall.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink it. You decide if they help or not. The staff can be a pain and inconsiderate, some can be power trippin', others can be super nice and your best friend and connect with you truly, but the doctors know what they are doing for the most part. Again, you decide if they help you or not. I was here for 8 months at one period of time, 6 months another, and a couple weeks on other occasions. I know this place, inside and out.

I was admitted here for a week, and while some of the staff was kind, most of the staff not only cussed, but yelled at patients. The beds are highly uncomfortable and the rooms are freezing and you are only permitted 1 thin blanket. They allow "skinnier" kids to have double portions on meals, but if you are over-weight you are made to only have 1 portion. And if you are in there for severe depression, your problems are not addressed. You are only scheduled to have 1 therapist app. each week. You don't really work on your problems here. And most of your free time is spent in arts and crafts, not on focusing on your issue.

This place is absolutely horrible. If you care about your loved ones do not take them here. After three months I was sent home with the wrong medications and lied to. The therapists and doctors will tell you things to avoid having to deal with you. I could go on and on this place is a nightmare.

My daughter was there for an acute stay. There were some issues with lack of communication from the lower-level staff (nurses/techs). A few examples - having been told my daughter had blood work when she did not, her having a wire issue with her braces that was not reported to me despite being noted in the nurse's report (she was also not provided with dental wax, I was told they didn't have any but later found out they do). I reported the numerous concerns I had to her therapist who had their patient advocate contact me to address the concerns. She even circled back and let me know what was done about each concern. She also met with my daughter to address the concerns she had. I feel like upper management does care about the operation of the facility and professionalism of their staff and I felt validated in my concerns by her therapist and the patient advocate. I don't think it is a world-class facility, but it was fine overall. I would very much implore any parent to be EXTREMELY active and inquisitive in their child's care at this facility or any other.

I really am very grateful for this hospital I took my son very depressed and with very strange thoughts, they treated him very professionally, the doctor gave him tools to understand what was happening and they gave me another son. I think 4 weeks and my son is another one, sleeps well, does not have stress, does not scream. my boy also has autism, it's a miracle what they did with him here. Thank you .

I would actually give them a big fat NEGATIVE 5, but it was not a rating option. My family is considering a complaint to the state to request an investigation into the people running this facility. The doctor and the therapist were rude and not professional, both should be brought up on criminal neglect charges and have their licenses revoked. The therapist refused to adhere to patient rights and allow my father's advocate to be present, she refused to answer the advocate's questions, and the advocate was told to come back next Wednesday. My father was left comatosa almost the whole time from the drugs, left unbathed for days to the point he stank, left with crusted feces in crevices, and his post stroke pt was obviously forgotten. The facility itself had a strong urine smell where my father was located. In an effort to save my father, we took him against medical advice, because we were not going to allow this quack facility to cause any more damage.

If you are considering this facility don't. RUN don't walk away from it.

Our 13 year old daughter recently stayed at Vantage Point in the youth acute care unit for about a week. We were very impressed with the initial assessment process and the fact that we were told what to expect while she was staying there. Our daughter's counselor, the nurses and other staff were helpful every single time we called to check on her or ask a question. Our daughter said all the nurses and staff were very kind and helpful to her and appeared as though they were trying to help the other residents. The only negatives were things that are difficult to control like patient fights and foul language from the other kids there. She did complain that the beds were uncomfortable and the rooms were very cold. All in all, this was a difficult experience for our family but Vantage Point did everything they could to help our daughter and keep her safe. We really appreciate the amazing care she received.

I came here last week for alcohol detox after speaking w them on phone that said they do that. Once admitted it was a full psych hospital. I didn t see a dr for 12 hours. The DT of the alcohol had begun. Once I spoke w dr I explained I wanted to be at a medical hospital not psych. He went on to tell me if I left I would die cause no hospital would admit me. I then came to Sparks health systems and told them what was going on. My Bp was 178/132 and full DTs were in place. They wasted no time to get me back to icu to start stabilizing and getting proper liquids and medications in body. Once stable they moved me to a room for further observations. Vantage point is the absolute worst ran facility I have ever seen with staff, cleanliness, dr knowledge. If you have a alcohol problem like mine. Start at your local ER

I agree more than words can describe. Since free thinking is in the DSM-V as a mental disorder this corruption will go unchecked. They are legalized drug dealers who push drugs they make sure their client will be addicted to for life. Do you think a child is safe from chemical lobotomy? Well they are not. These kids and adults alike look like night of the living dead. Knowing also that this profession is the one that can hold you against your will, medicate you against your will, and destroy your mind as they wish and suffer no legal recourse for their life destroying methods. We are witnessing a covert chemical holocaust....

Checked in at 7:00pm did not called in till 5am the next day, 10hrs waitting we all had to sleep on the chairs all night long while others sleep on the waitting floor, go to restroom also a big problem, i nocked kicked the door for at least 20' before someone came to unlocked the door so bunch of lady can used the restroom.
Now 10 days later they said they will ready everything at 10am for us to pick up a family member, we came at 10am nothing ready, they said have to wait at least 1-2 hrs before they ready for it
We ask the boss and work allow us to take off 1 1/2 hrs to take care this and now sitting in the car waitying and waitting.
Please please this is what going on at Vantage Point
so if you planning to bring family member here you need to re- think about it
Thank you! a very bad bad experience happened to me.

I was in their for 6 months and I have nightmares about it today. You barley get to go outside you re forced to do things that you don t feel comfortable doing and the nurses were all right but the only time it was organized was when big companies would come and observe.

For those who have had a horrible experience with this place why hasn't anyone brought a lawsuit against this place? One person alone possibly has no chance but a class action would mean you'd have to be listened to!

Our father came out in worse shape physically than when he went in. We're going to try and get his legs back in shape as he needs a wheel chair. As with any place, please be careful and don't ignore any warnings/comments that your loved one may make while at a place like this. Our rating is only with our own personal experience here. If you read other reviews here about the same place, you will see a pattern tho. A 2.1 rating out of 5 with approx 60 reviews is a fairly decent sample size and should not be taken lightly. One of the weekend nurses was cordial with us but we did not hear from the doctor. We'll have to wait for our father's doctor to get the reports from this place.

My father (a WWII vet who has lived a clean life) complained of below average treatment and was miserable here the whole time. After some calls to our father's doctor and letting them know we were going to seek legal advice (which we started the ball rolling on), he was released shortly after which surprised all of us.

Slowest place I have ever seen was referred by my doughters consulers. I was told they had all the info they would need that it take about half an HR to go over paperwork.took over 4 hours for paperwork. Worst place I have ever been around been nothing but lies since the beginning. If I coulda gave a zero I would have. To me it's just a group of lazy over educated idoits that's just after money

I'm pretty sure I would be legally reprimanded if I tried to publicly explain all the things I witnessed in this facility on this review. But I'll tell yall one thing, this is NOT a place to send your teens. Dont do it. There are other facilities in the area that would be MUCH better.

Horrible experience.

Horrible experience.
Keep your kid as long as they can milk the system, then just throw them out when they get tired if "dealing" with them.
DO NOT bring your child to this facility. Very poor treatment and concern for parents & patients needs/concerns.

My teen daughter with autism was physically and verbally abused at Vantage Point in Fayetteville, AR
The staff waited 2 hours after the abuse to call and report it to me. The staff did not call an ambulance or get her medical treatment. I called the police and ambulance and met them at Vantage Point. The nurse sent the ambulance away without allowing my daughter to be checked out. The nurse had me sign release papers and told me to take my daughter to the hospital myself to be evaluated. My daughter was seen at Washington regional and diagnosed with a concussion and facial contusions, crayon burns on her arms. She is extremely fearful of getting help from any psychiatric residential facility now. I highly recommend NOT sending your child to this unsafe place for treatment.

Only 11 hours after my husband was transported there via ambulance from ICU in hospital at Northwest, my husband was released. Huge family history of completing suicide. Just 24 hours before my husband was on a respirator and medically induced coma for attempt. Husband left suicide notes and took every pI'll in the house. Why wouldn't they respond to my families attempts to get help to keep him in? Now my husband is home and is not stable. They are attrocious!

My 72 y/o father has been coping with depression off and on since my mother passed away 10 years ago. I have been his sole caretaker and as a result I have A LOT of experience with these types of hospitals. This is by far the very worst of them. Their visiting hours are limited and restrictive, for example we are not permitted to go in to the room of our loved one. The building stinks of urine, which shows the level of care provided. Additionally, of the three visits I had with my father, not once was he in his own clothes. When I asked about it, the staff tried to insist they were his. I told them that not only did pack his bag, I bought his clothes. When we finally picked him up for discharge, they had lost half his clothes! To top it off, the discharging RN was rolling her eyes at me when I was trying to have them locate all his belongings. If my father needs another hospitalization while we live in AR, I'll bring him to another city for treatment.

So I put my son here almost 2 months ago. He is 12. His behavior has been up and down since being here. My worst issues are listed below:
*I picked him up and he had a staff infection all over his body, which was not being treated. I had to use my visitation to take him to the ER.
*I have purchased him new clothes when he first got here and again this month because his stuff keeps being stolen.
*staff has zero communication skills and in evenings the staff cant even control the residents. When I call and speak with my son they are always on "slow down" due to behavior issues of residents. Residents throwing water bottles from one room to another, dumping their soaps and stuff in floor to make messes and cause hazards or just to play (that coming from nurses them selves). When I ask why my son was detained or put in a quiet room their answer is usually "I dont know".

Today i came to see my son as i usually do every saturday/sunday. Today I was informed that my 2 younger children (under 12) couldn't sit in lobby while I went back. Mimd u this isnt the first time I've been without my 14 yr old who sits with them but suddenly its an issue. Rules are rules but again my son has been here for 2 months and it's only an issue now. So let's add to the list that staff cant follow rules either. I am a single mother with 4 kids and my resources for child care are very limited. So I can't see my son.

So when u place ur child here... be prepared to replace clothes, not know the whole story when something negative happens, and if ur like me and are single parent with smaller children be prepared to spend more money u may not have on childcare or just not be able to see ur child.
Let's hope ur child doesnt have serious skin issues cuz they will probably end up with STAFF or MRSA due to lack of medical care they actually get.

I advise you not to send your child, parent, grandparent, or even yourself! Vantage solves one problem by creating more. Some of the staff are caring and will treat you like family while others will treat you like your a criminal. Most of the doctors and therapist do not care they put you on so many medications that you cant think, to the point where your not yourself anymore.

This place changed my life completely so thankful. Alot of people felt like it was a prison. I needed help and I got it. If you want to change how you live and how you feel this place will help. If you object to what you need and want other special treatment than what is offered, you will have a bad experience. Again if you want to change the way you live and feel this is the place and if you don want it DO NOT GO THERE.

I wouldn't listen to these reviews, as facts go, they allow SMOKING on the adult unit. They actually have 2 cordless phones that patients can use most of the day. They let you do your laundry anytime, they serve real caffienated coffee, housekeeping daily, meals can be good some bad, 2 tvs let u change the channels. They expect the adults to act like adults and they treated me like an adult but they don't fool around with adult patients trying to act like children. They give you alot of freedom for choice but if your needing to be lied to and enabled don't come here. They hit u with the truth and i saw and heard some of the other patients not liking what they were told. If your addicted they can and will get you a good clean. If your depressed they help you recognize your hurdles. So be real here or they will tell u go and be real gone we don't have time to fix those that don't want to be fixed.

My great aunt and I arrived at our one hour appointment and walked thru the locked corridors to find my uncle slumped over in a chair barely breathing. His tongue was hanging out his mouth and he had contracted breathing with each breath. He had been in the VA less than three weeks ago with pneumonia in both lobes, all 4 quadrants and was on two heavy duty iv antibiotics. He had an episode of Afib and his wife told me he was on 14 new meds not counting antibiotics...that is a lot for a body to process. He knew us, answered social workers questions and laughed and joked and ate all his food. Then he went home. Them suddenly he was moved by social services to local nursing home. Then late one night he was moved to this place "until Medicaid could come through...this way it did not cost a penny".
When we found Uncle Dale he was trying to cough but we could not even wake him up. I called nurse, asked about his pneumonia...they said they did not know anything about pneumonia. I asked if they could help us....an aide came and cleaned him back in recliner and called desk nurse. I asked if he could have bresthing treatment. They hot RN....who got treatment and oxygen. He coughed up a glob of thick sputum...i tried to give it to nurse but she said she did not want it but I made her look....it was green and yellow with blood tinged mucus . We prayed, sang, massaged him and cried. They would not give us any info...only his wife...and we called her and she wanted to come because he was dying, but they said no....their hour of visitation was over. This is a horrible place and had i been able to take a camera in, we could have proven negligence. I cried for the three days it took to get him out of there. God only knows what is going on behind all those locked doors...i only saw 4 patients!!!!

I will not take another person to this facility. After waiting 45 mins for the assessment, we finally got in. Then after about 45 mins longer we were told to wait until the doctor reviewed it and she would return. Which was another long process. Then the doctor says that "He (an adult with special needs) was out of his scope of practice". Um I'm sorry I thought this was a treatment center for those with mental health issues?? It was a complete waste I'd time and we ended up in the emergency room and admitted to the hospital. Never again!!

If I could give negative star review I would. It is supposed to be able handle behavioral health problems, but when my mother (who is suffering from a type of psychosis) had a panic attack shortly after being admitted (within less than 2 hours) they discharged her. My father got a call in the dead of night to pick her up and drive over an hour away. They also are still trying to charge for the whole day, yet she never had any treatment, or room, or anything from them. So how can they even charge for a service they never even attempted to perform? Its bewildering that a place that specializes in mental health disorders couldn't even handle a single panic attack.

My wife and I brought my stepson over here for an evaluation and we were or in the waiting room just fine with my service dog. Then when time came to come back to the room the woman by the door said she couldn t come in. I said she s a service dog and she said well do you have papers? I do have them but I don t carry the sheet of paper around. It s a big paper and I took a picture of it. Besides she s not supposed to demand paperwork it s in the law. I guess she just doesn t know the law. It s still not an excuse to kick us out and make us wait outside in the heat.
