Just like to defend the most recent negative review concerning female security staff. I speak from personal experience I endured at the Vancouver Convention Centre. Unfortunately the security there is at the bottom of the Totem Pole and get blamed, summoned for everything under the sun when things go wrong. They have a very " thankless job", low wages, are in the front lines, and are always expected to perform miracles, predict the weather, and possess Supernatural skills to impress, and bow down to anything that moves. I can honestly tell you they do their absolute best, and are the real heroes in securing the building 24/7, and meeting , and greeting customers, employee's and so on and so forth, ensuring events go as humanly smooth as possible. From back of house to front of house they are the true humble, noble, selfless " Warriors " and go above and beyond on a regular basis. They do their best, and are always expected to put on a spotless , stainless Happy Face , even when under enormous pressures, shameful attitudes, and stresses. Also remember they do all of this with poor wages, no benefits, and no job security, and are almost always the fall guys, buffer zone for every mistake other's make from numerous departments day in and day out. I can also tell you the beautiful lady security officers rock , and the men as well and everyone works together from all cultures, backgrounds for a common goal.
They do it all, and all for you with class!
I wonder how much more they could accomplish with better wages , treatment, respect, and genuine gratitude?
We have convention here, but the venue is not likeable, one level acoustic not to good, nonetheless Love Never Fails is another great spiritual feast
Brilliant venue; especially with all the recycling and organic coffee!
Always nice to visit the place. Especially not far to Fly over Canada
Landmark of Vancouver Island, near Victoria Bay, beautiful scenery.
I went there for an international college affair. The view was absolutely breathtaking and the place was vastly big!
A megastructure ready to host events. The entrance is public, the building is giant and very beautiful.
Best convention center I have ever been at. It is new, enormous, good sound system, excellent restrooms, in the center of Vancouver, close to everthing you need, hotels, restaurants, bars, train stations, in the Bay of Vancouver.
Awesome location!! Architecturally interesting building. Both in and out.
Very roomy. Love the staff that works there. Very friendly. Keep up the good work
Beautiful architecture and great views. A must visit.
Came here to attend Anime Revolution 2019. Really good venue for an anime con. Lots of panel rooms and open space. Main event room is nice and big.
Great location, spectacular views, professional and friendly staff, good food, very environmentally conscious.
Miki is a high class Japanese restaurant. Food is a delicacy that you cannot find at all you can eat restaurant. Highly recommended.
Great viewpoint. Lots of events happen here. No parking.
Convention center ideally located the premises are clean and modern
I did not enter it but the location and architecture are exceptional, it seems a bit like a sailing ship departing or arriving.
Very well sustainably built. Hosting very major events including technology related, culture related, press related events, and more. Right at waterfront, looking at beautiful sea views.
Massive indoor space for hosting events. I've been to numerous shows, events, and conferences here, including: Outdoor Adventure Show, Gluten Free Expo, Wellness Expo, Arcteryx Factory Sale, Taboo Show.
Easy to get here from the skytrain (especially Millennium line).
Vancouver fall homeshow features a lot of the new technology in a the construction industry.
Awesome convention centre - the outdoor adventure expo was a blast!
Best time visit, closer toward sunset time. Good place for a stroll & watch those cruise ships
The staff were incredibly helpful throughout our function. Their food was very good and the service really raised the bar. Great design of a building and the views. Wow. This photo was taken from the loading docks!
Super beautiful place for event that can change your life
I came here to participate in a scientific congress and everything was very spacious and modern. The staff is polite.
Pretty to visit. Without friends or family their is not much to do
The environment of the exhibition venue is beautiful, and the indoor and outdoor performance is large enough, especially the underground exhibition hall.
I really didn't like the way they set it up for the entrance to the car show...too crowded and way too many vendors jammed into too-small an area.
As a person that delivers to the Convention Center I am discusseded with the loading arrangements. The elevators into the West Convention Center are located directly in from of and slightly east of loading bays 1 and 2. Loading bays 1 and 2 have hydrolic dock plates the next one is bay 7. Bays 1 and 2 are reserved 24 hrs for internal food services to deliver cooked food from the EAST Convention Center, a block away. When there are no events happening requiring cooked food bay 2 is used by the food services manager to park his personal car. This leaves delivery personel to lift a manual dock plate into place that requires 2 or more people to manuver, I drive alone and there is no one working the loading docks to help. I have also had to deliver when bays 3 through 7 are being used all day for parking of personal cars leaving me to manuver the delivery goods half a football field to the elevators. Why would they not have the empty bays 20 onwards used by the extended personal parkers. This is a venue that puts on events and they can't co-ordinate how to facilitate the loading and unloading of items required for the events to be successful. Would I recommend using the WEST Convention Center. NO. Who wants trucked in cooked food?
Attended Jehovah's Witness convention...awesome venue
Gorgeous and "green" convention center right on the water. Plenty to see, do and eat nearby.
A 5 star hotel with terrific views and service to match. Lots to do and attractions close by in the downtown's core.
Beautiful building!
Be aware of the Delane' Canada store on the cruise ship side of the building will RIP you off. I was told my item was $10 USD, merchant swiped my card for $100 USD. I was still in the store when I noticed their error and they quickly pointed to their No refunds sign.. this was their error and they refused to correct it. They stole my money! Frauds!
it is a good place to visit. very expensive for parking
Huge empty space. Just can't understand why the structure cost so much to built.
Prime Vancouver waterfront property. I wish I could own it!
My favorite convention spot in the world. Which is bold coming from someone who lives in Vegas.
Convention centre building with very good views across the water. Spacious and reasonably well equipped. Has hosted SIGGRAPH well several times.
Love walking around the convention centre and the coffee shop outside run by an Indian Family have the best coffee on the waterfront. Especially the chai tea latte. Very friendly service as well.
Beautiful convention center and very helpful staff. Came here for fan expo and was extremely lost due to bad layout and signage
