Van der Valk Hotel Volendam Review

I've been coming here for 40 years. That is not just like that. Fish is really good. Problems always solved.

Lovely hotel good food like you're used to at valkie ... hotel we found a bit outdated ...

Wow, how good we are helped here!

We were married on 11 August 2018 in the beautiful vegetable garden of this hotel. Firstly, we had very good contact for a year about the wedding and the planning. We were allowed to decorate and bring things a few days in advance. And on the day itself everything was really perfect! Real chapeau for the staff! They really made our day perfect! I recommend everyone to get married here;) Our stay and for several guests was great. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms incredibly neat. I just think it's a shame that we can't get married again!

Good food with great service. The room rental is also well arranged.

It was quite expensive, but the room was beautiful. We had 3 twin beds, huge bathroom (small shower, big tub). There was a huge shared porch. Food was expensive, you had to pay extra for the sauna and exercise room, and it kind of sucked being so far from Amsterdam, but everyone was so kind and helpful. The hotel was beautiful with gardens amd decor. I really enjoyed our stay, and they made it very easy for us to get around with the bus system and the tickets they had for sale at the front desk.

The hotel was very comfortable, the rooms clean and really spacious and large. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. It is great to use the swimming pool and fitness center. The main advantage, however, is the location of the hotel. It is really close to the picturesque Volendam or Edam, and there is a bus stop at the hotel, where buses leave for about 20 minutes to the center of Amsterdam. The all-day ticket for these buses costs 10 and can be bought at the reception.

Nice hotel. Walking over the dike to Volendam is possible. Breakfast was alright a bit on the expensive side.

As always a fantastic stay at the van der valk hotel.rooms perfectly fine.Restaurant well cared for.breakfast very extensive.and the staff all equally friendly and helpful.We prefer to come here when we spend the night in the Netherlands.

One star because of bad experience with one particular waitress. (short hair and glasses)
We had made a reservation for 6 ladies last Monday, checked in at reception and yes the friendly receptionist confirmed it to us and referred us to the restaurant. The waitress who welcomed us into the restaurant responded very strange. "no, I don't know ..." and at the insistence of my sister-in-law to take a look, we walked together to a corner where notabene already 2 guests of our party were waiting for us at a set table for 6. The waitress kept repeating that the reservation was not known to her .. "Gee put it next to you, what do we have to do with your organization, there is a table set here for 6 so fine", I thought. The table stood in "her neighborhood" and was also the only table for 6 people. The waitress was overall a very unprofessional impression on me. When I asked her which wines were served by the glass, she pushed the wine list into my hands. To my comment: sorry I can't read (I'm clearly visibly very visually impaired, here was under the guidance of my guide dog and my red and white stick was strikingly folded on the table), she responded: Well I can't read it either and then poorly enumerated French wines. When I could have deciphered her nomination and had been able to make my choice, she could not help saying: "it is 5.00 per glass!" It is of course not up to the hostess to determine whether I am financially strong enough to pay this amount for a glass of wine. After clearing her starter, one of my sisters-in-law had asked again for the menu to be able to choose the next dish of her lunch. The waitress was in no fields or ways to take the order, so after half an hour my sister-in-law went looking for her to pass it on. Fortunately we were able to pay at the end with her colleague who came as fresh as a shout. Too bad her service was just starting! Further fine eaten enough, but the waitress definitely does not belong in the restaurant!

Restaurant that I visit often. Food is good and plenty of choice for everyone's taste. Atmospheric decor and enough space between the tables. Sometimes surprising desserts on the menu.

A fantastic hotel with friendly and willing staff. Clean rooms and good food! We are definitely going back!

Neat clean rooms. Everything clean. Breakfast less. The stir-fry egg and coffee were cold. And considering the crowds. I found the system with which she worked not so useful. The rest were tasty and all well cared for, but that's why I give the hotel 4 stars instead of 5. The hotel is just as well recommended.

A great clean hotel away from the noise of the city close to Volendam, a 2-minute drive next to a local cheese factory

Excellent hotel. The De Luxe room has a ton of space and good extras like a bath and coffee machine (Nespresso like). Hotel is quite a distance from Volendam itself so not good to walk into town for its nightlife. Double beds are two single beds put together and they move all around.

Good bed. Nice shower. However, the room and especially the hallways smelled very musty. If you want to sleep in, this hotel is not recommended.

First day hotel van der Valk is open. Outstanding service. Both on the phone and on the terrace. We come there often. Glad they are open again.

Twelve hours!

I was only one night in this hotel and I had a great time from all points of view. New modern structure with very large campir clean and there. Super treatment for guests even just the bathroom so large as to have a shower and a bathtub and with all the necessary accessories. Badly courteous and polite staff and a very abundant quality breakfast with the freshest ingredients including freshly squeezed orange juice, sweet and savory dishes prepared with care.
Very beautiful location on the lake in short, super recommended.

The food was super good, service neat and friendly. Valk in Wieringerwerf can still learn something from this!

As always the life and cooking was delicious again.

Clean, organised and helpful staff. Only a short bus ride into Amsterdam Central station, and next to a clog and cheese museum! What more could you want from a hotel in the Netherlands

Did not really feel welcome and appreciated as a guest. I requested a room with a balcony. Since I had stayed before and also had booked a standard room. It was then indicated that I could only stay in this standard room with balcony after paying a surcharge of 5. When I indicated that I had previously stayed in a standard room with a balcony, it was very bluntly told that this was because I had booked through an online travel agent. And that this policy was introduced since the beginning of this year. Felt totally unappreciated as a guest.

Checkin was very impersonal and only asked for identification and tourist tax. I appreciated a bit of small talk like "how was your trip".

Checkout made no sense, the gentleman behind the counter literally said 2 words: room number and okay. Even a "how was your stay" could not finish.

This unfortunately had no room to indicate that the shower drain was very clogged, the water pressure in the bathroom is very weak. And that the TV signal is also very weak.

Swimming pool can not test because the pool is not very large and pretty much swimming lessons are held all day.

Location, parking and the room in general are fine.

But unfortunately so overall not the experience that I normally expect when I book a Falcon!

Wonderful hotel, silence and relaxation in every corner and a great taste in decoration. The attention was great. If I had to put a but, it would be that the cards in the rooms were constantly unconfigured and having to open so many access doors to the room with them, it was a little uncomfortable. Otherwise, a 10! We will be back

Close to Volendam. Closed small bicycle shed. Not the most beautiful of the vd Valk hotel, but good. Nice terrace. It was warm in the room (air conditioning at 18.5)

You sit until 4.00 in the morning in the noise of screaming guests in the hallway and balcony.

The bar is nicely decorated and, except for a low bench, you can sit here and have a drink or snack. They also serve good coffee here.

Nice hotel, spacious walk-in shower and a good morning buffet. The restaurant in the evening is also not to fault. Bicycles may be checked.
