Van der Valk Hotel Hengelo Review

Great Valk hotel. Complete. Very friendly staff.
Wonderful beds. Eating in the restaurant is a recommendation, especially the 3 course ID CARD menu. The chef knows what he is doing, excellent!

Tip for the manager: discuss the renovation costs with the contractor, not in the restaurant where the hotel guests are present. I assume that there is an office available for this

We were in the Superior rooms, which are very nice. Plenty of space, a boxspring bed, big bathroom with bath and seperate (rainfall)shower. The restaurant is great with rather little time to and between servings, even when there are lots of guests.

Quality is gradually deteriorating. Have to ask yourself whether vegetables can also be served with food.

One person from our group is allergic to nuts and asked the staff if there were nuts in the deserts. They didn't know for sure, so the chef went and made a dessert just for him. With a layer of ALMONDS at the bottom, thx for nearly killing my brother in law!

Nothing to complain about in terms of room, as you can expect from every vd Valk. (Modern and tidy with a nice spacious bath and excellent bed.) Friendly and professional staff, also as you can expect from vd Valk. However, the hotel itself needs many things to be replaced. Not as shiny as, for example, Duiven, Enschede or Hoorn. Painted chipboard in the elevator (repair), visible extension cords crammed on the floor behind the door for a few slot machines. Gives a bit of an outdated and sloppy impression, that does not do justice to the rest of the hotel and the high vd Valk standard. During our stay the kitchen was renovated, breakfast was on the first floor. Was adequate but not as we were used to. Not a bad experience but again not the best vd Valk in the list. They are just the dots on the i, therefore 3 stars (okay).

Nice workplace with service for a cup of coffee. Enough sockets and sufficient distance from the adjacent tables.

Beautifully spacious rooms. Well maintained hotel with a luxurious design and appearance.

Excellent rooms and ditto service. Breakfast is worthy of five stars, what a choice and luxury.

Past glory, despite the makeover, it remains an outdated lot. Brake tracks in the toilet, stink cup with dirty butts and empty beer cans on the balcony, a small family bufett. A best disappointment, not worth repeating.

The Van der Valk Hotel in Hengelo is a great hotel for a stay of several nights. The separate bar and the huge restaurant serves everything you need. Especially the food served is qualitatively high. The gym is very small, but good furnished. All training equipment and devices available for a good exercise.

The only thing that can be done is, that they use the reconstruction they are doing in the backside of the hotel, to think about a wellness area.

There are a lot of business travelers and construction workers, which would appreciate to relax after a long and tough day.

Location of the hotel is excellent!

We had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon in buffet form. Incredibly what a choice of food and drinks. But also very busy .. Not that that means that you have to wait a long time or something .. There is plenty of staff and everything is equally tasty ..
In the basement large inflatable cushion for the kids but there could have been a little more entertainment ..

Fine dinner and breakfast. Room was outdated in my opinion. Bed was no longer comfortable and the shower made a squeaking noise. This was not what I am used to from Van der Valk

Eaten mixed grill, a plate was full of disappointment. Fat itch and just rancid.

As with all VD Valk, constant quality is the basis and friendliness is a must. I remain a guest!

A Van der Valk, like many others. For the second time here, so I liked it somewhere. Cleaning of the rooms is not really done in this room. I don't touch the shower hose, for example. Mold is thick. But just posted a picture of it.

Booked superior room. Great room. With a view. Highway noise not disturbing. Restaurant good food very tasty dessert. Some pressure so timely book a table on the outside with the window out of the crowds and good view.

Don t let the simple exterior fool you. The rooms have been recently renovated and are really nice and big with good beds and a nice bathroom.

We had a 12-hour drive and that was not a great success.

Wait very long for the food, waitress comes and says, wait another 5 to 10 minutes, there is disagreement in the kitchen. Still took longer than half an hour for the food to arrive. The meat partially mourns, but eaten when you send it back it takes even longer and then the people with whom you are eating have already finished eating when you have to start, that is not fun. Complained but little response. So that was a disappointment.

We only came for lunch. The food was tasty and arrived quite smoothly.

We have slept in the 3 person room, short break deal, nice spacious room with wonderful beds. Breakfast delicious and lots of choice. Dinner again delicious. Friendly staff, especially the helpful older lady who worked there (after a conversation) for 23 years. .She asked if she should get breakfast for me because I am in a wheelchair. Not experienced anywhere else.

All you can eat / drink between 17:30 and 22:30, so you don't have to pay attention to the time. Large room, well furnished. Variety of food, such as meat, fish, wok, sushi, etc. Only when it is busy you sometimes have to approach the service more for drinking.

The vegetables for the wok were first cooked for 4 minutes, just like the scampi
Then stir-fried until snot, absolutely not recommended, no expert chefs behind the pans!
