Van der Valk Hotel Hengelo Review

An extremely satisfied company. The dinner with the four of us was rated as very good by everyone. Really beyond expectations. Switching tables was very fun and easily arranged. Great staff. Certainly worth a recommendation !!!

Rooms were clean and tidy

You can eat delicious food here. The ambiance is good and staff friendly. For the children there is something to play but our children do not find this worthwhile.

Friendly staff, spacious modern room. Also in the restaurant there is a cozy atmosphere and delicious food. The breakfast buffet is very generous with a wide selection and live cooking.

Great hotel, but the rules on certain agreements can sometimes be implemented a little less correctly for a better atmosphere

Very tasty food. Quiet atmosphere. Spaciously laid out so that the other guests hardly notice, it is much less noisy than other comparable concepts.

We participated in Live cooking here. Tasty appetizers are offered in small glasses or trays and a very fresh salmon, and the meat fried on the spot is very tasty and tender. If you want, you can also take an oyster, bitterbal or sushi

One of the worst Van der Valks where I have slept. No air conditioning in the room where I was sitting and also no possibility to open something because the balcony was shared with all adjacent rooms.

Nice hotel, excellent breakfast. 10 minutes by bike from the center of Hengelo and 15 minutes by bike to the cute Borne.

Beautiful hotel and delicious show cooking, spacious rooms, spacious and equipped with a kettle for making coffee and tea. Employees give you the feeling that you are really a guest and that nothing should be missing. Top!

With 18 people spent our annual weekend. Nice rooms, great breakfast and a delicious dinner. The staff deserve a big compliment. Jan Bouten

Delightful hotel. Nice rooms and bathrooms. Friendly staff. Centrally located to do all kinds of fun things.

Nice and nice hotel to stay in, lots of parking places, nice terrace in the summer but in terms of dining it was really a thing because of their menu choices so we did it elsewhere. Nice staff for the stay with clean, tidy rooms.

We had to have a quick lunch. Although it was quite busy, we were gone again and had a good meal. Good and friendly service.

Very comfortable and good breakfasts. No swimming pool and no sauna. Just fitness.

We have been coming to eat in Van der Valk Hengelo for 25 years. Always to complete satisfaction. Our dog was also always welcome, which we particularly appreciated. Now we wanted to eat at van der Valk Hengelo tonight, suddenly a sign says that dogs are no longer allowed in the restaurant. Too bad, now I went to a restaurant in Borne, where the dog is welcome and the food and service were also exceptionally good. A pity, but very disappointed in Van der Valk Hengelo.

Big and clean hotel. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. The boxspring beds are very good and the bathroom also deserves this label, large and bright. Bath and separate, wheelchair-accessible shower.

Went to met up a friend and we decided to grab a bit there. Payed 22,- for 4 small hand length thin fried kibbeling, being the fried part consisting of 30% of the fish.They put some salty herbs on top of it and took away the taste of the fish. A small side dish with 18 fries... yes I counted it because the amount took me by surprise compared to the price. Besides the price not being worth, the atmosphere was good. People don't talk loud and part attention to their surrounding. Once and that's it.

Always familiar arrival at any location, friendly service, had a great dance evening in Hengelo.

Wonderful beds and beautiful rooms. We had just left to have a good night's sleep. Unfortunately around 1.15 a.m. noise and banging on a door?
3 course dinner and breakfast were excellent! Never eaten so much and so full. Operation and corona rules were well observed. Except for the noise after a very nice stay!

Like other Van der Valk hotels, this hotel was a pleasure. Very spacious room with private sauna, hot tub and sitting room next to a spacious double bed. The room was very stylish and the bathroom was nicely finished. The refrigerator unfortunately did not work. The breakfast, which was included, was delicious and provided with everything. The room-wide balcony was unfortunately not private, it was shared with the other rooms on the floor and side of the building.

We went here for lunch a few times. Location is very pleasant, plenty of parking. You sit directly along the motorway but have little trouble with this - in terms of sound. Hotel looks very neat inside. In the lunchroom the tables are always neatly laid and there are enough staff around. We always eat outside.

The (lunch) menu is extensive, something for everyone. We are very fond of the '12 hour ', which is really a complete lunch with sandwiches, soup and such. The menu also changes regularly so there is often something new. Staff often walks by on the terrace and is always neat in terms of service. We will certainly stop by here more often.

Close to the A1 motorway exit. Ample parking. Food is more than good. Operation is very correct and friendly.

In 1 word we had a condolence with lunch there. really true. sublime. I have never been a van der Valk fan. but this has changed.

Great hotel. We had and not yet renovated room. Unfortunately very hot, no air conditioning still possible and only option door on hallway balcony. But top breakfast and large rooms.

Van der valk hotel is located at the freeway and is easily accessible. They have adequate parking space around the hotel. The inside of the hotel looks very nice, and the staff are very helpful and nice.

Got a great room upgrade. Located by bike 10 minutes from the center and directly on the highway. Only downside is no swimming pool and no sauna .. The breakfast tomorrow is just waiting.

Massive higgeldy-piggeldy mess of a hotel . Staff on reception were unhelpful and surly - but there are a lot of guests - so it's no surprise I guess. It is a shame because I like the Van Der Valk chain of hotels normally - but this one was just too big and too old - with bits added on here and there over the years . Stairs, corridors, more stairs - different levels - double doors - more stairs - more long corridors and so on and so on . The place was tired and in desperate need of knocking down and re-building. It is place to stay. No more no less than that - but I would not recommend this particular hotel. Other hotels in the Van Der Valk chain - yes .

Great hotel with nice and hospitable staff. The breakfast is great with lots of choice in bread and toppings. Live cooking is very good here too a lot of choice and very helpful staff I have not often experienced such a delicious live cooking. Nice spacious rooms in one word AWESOME. Only some drinks in the lobby but very tastefully decorated, warm colors. Friendly service and smooth.
