Ten minutes before arrival we called (group of 80 people) that we wanted to eat. Arrived we were nicely guided to our place. Stress free we were then provided with food and two drinks. We were outside again within 45 minutes. Tribute to the staff!

My husband fell ill while we were at lunch at this hotel. The staff were amazing. Got a wheelchair and helped us to the bathroom. They remained with us until we could lay him down. Fantastic. Thankyou

Old-fashioned Van der Valk! Excellent accommodation, friendly staff and excellent food. Downside? Room doors make a lot of noise due to the door closer. Close with a slap.

Big well managed hotel. Big comfortable rooms, a great restaurant with a salad bar and an amazing breakfast. Location is car friendly, not foot friendly. I had sweetbreads for dinner. So good.

Prima hotel. Good breakfast. Unfortunately, like many Van der Valk hotels, a dilapidated building illogical. But this does not detract from the service and hospitality. Excellent experience!

A nice hotel, where good service is provided. The food is also excellent and well arranged! In a sense a top hotel with good facilities!

Super good nice rooms with large walk-in shower, good food and large portions of friendly staff.

I normally don't like hotel chains but the Van der Valk hotel in Hengelo is different. In short:

* Beautiful surroundings
* impeccable clean and beautiful rooms
* Price - Quality --> worth it!

Special shout out to the fabulous people at the front desk. They are friendly, helpful (not fake helpful) personable and sharp.

What really made my stay here stand out is one of the employees that delivered my room service. His name is Jhamel ( I asked his permission). He was so polite, patient, personable. The Van der Valk needs to realise that people like the Hengelo branch front-desk staff and people like Jhamel need to e cherished. They MAK your brand and should be rewarded and made an example: This is what top notch hospitality is!

Kitchen very good
Breakfast only from 7:00 am and that can be late when you have to go to work.
Packed lunches can get a little more attention and are actually not worth the money. Charging the car by hanging it on a pole overnight is outrageously expensive at vd falcon. Euro 10 euros on average for 8 kilowatts.

Our room on the ground floor was very spacious and comfortable as was the bathroom. The interior is very dark brown and it was very hot! No air conditioning, no fan, the patio door (without screen) can open. So everyone has immediate access to your room. You expect better from a 4 star hotel!
Very extensive breakfast but not enough coffee machines! There is a far too long line for the coffee machine!

The meat was moderate and the vegetables were very monotonous two years ago it looked like this,
Same layout and same vegetables as for years.
Perhaps it is once possible to change the surroundings around it a little less often and to introduce more variation into the vegetables / menus.
The new modern kitchen has not changed anything.

Spacious rooms. Furniture was a bit older, but absolutely top for the price. Good, rich breakfast that leaves nothing to be desired. Restaurant offer qualitatively and also very good price. Very friendly staff.

Great base for cycling tours, straight from the hotel to all kinds of nice places. Route historic route Hengelo a must, also to Almelo perfect.

The only thing that is a downside
Is warm stuffy bedrooms with dry air

Large rooms. Bathrooms comfortable. Good breakfasts. A large parking lot and good location.

Very friendly staff. 1 minus: the balcony is continuous, no partitions in between. Otherwise they would have gotten 5 stars.

Food choice not huge, but tastes good. Portions rather too large than too small. Waiting times and service good too, especially for a Friday evening. Just make a reservation if you want to have dinner. There are not really any places left during rush hour. The crowds do not bother you much.

Last week (end of July 2018) 3 nights with breakfast together with my wife spent at van der Valk Hengelo. Room (superior 119) spacious, neat (clean), excellent bed, good TV, lovely bathroom with very spacious bath and a fantastic walk-in rain shower. Fridge (you) is ok, air conditioning works fine and almost silently, nice and cool. Balcony unobstructed with a view of the parking lot and the highway (noise). Location is less for us, hotel is sandwiched between the highway and an industrial estate at the rear. This is of course different for the business guest, as a short distance to the motorway is important. Bicycle shed ok, plenty of sockets to charge electric bicycles. Participated in the live cooking buffet on Saturday evening, in a word great. Lots of choice (from iberico steaks to zander and more!), All prepared with care and attention by friendly staff. In short, a must, don't be put off by the price of (only) 36.50 p / p, but know that this amount includes drinks. The nice town of Borne is within cycling distance

Will definitely come back.

Very nice service and good food for a reasonable price

During my stay a renovation, nothing says about it now.

The food was very good but damn hot in the restaurant and the curtains a mockery. Purely for the ornamental but no way to keep the sun off the tables. Maybe some decent air conditioners?

Good hotel whit good Price quality. A lot of parking and near the higway. Food quality is good and very nice people. The rooms are also superb.

Eating the piece of short rib with gambas is really the worst thing I have eaten at van der Valk

Enjoyed the deer fillet during lunch. The very thinly sliced and toasted slice of gingerbread was a nice and tasty addition.

Great food and good service. When something was wrong with the food they solved it great quickly and service oriented.

Again enjoyed delicious at van der valk hotel in Hengelo on all fronts.

We were annoyed that we had so much trouble in the restaurant with the dinner of flies !!
Also lackluster when I booked at the 3
wanted to book one night in the same room suddenly the room price for that night was broken !! Not fair I think!

The restaurant looks nice. The Live cooking looks good. You have much choice in cold and hot. You can customize it exactly as you want it. I think it's a great concept

We did the live cooking. A good number of dishes were cold. We only had two drinks from four o'clock until half past seven. The service was just bad.

Easy and good value for money. You don't expect it, but it's much better than you think!

We stayed in v / d Valk Hengelo for 2 days (1 night).
And it was great.
I don't understand the complaints of some.
A fantastic room (210) with a beautiful bathroom.
The breakfast buffet was phenomenal.
And the 3-course set menu was of a good quality.
No culinary delights, but good food.
Very friendly service (Lieke).
Pleasant stay and will be back !!!!

Great hotel, depending on what you want to do in the area. We only stayed there once for an event nearby - unfortunately I can't say anything about the surrounding area or connections. There is a huge parking lot at the front and inside the hotel complex.
The room was very large and spacious, modernly furnished. The only funny thing was that the toilet was in a separate room without a light switch, but apparently with a motion detector - it went off at some point. And unfortunately there was no sink or trash can in it. You first had to go to the large bathroom to wash your hands.

Otherwise it is a very large facility. You can quickly get lost on the way to the room and we avoided leaving the room unnecessarily in order not to have to walk the long, complicated path too often (over a kind of bridge, up stairs, around once, down stairs, left, right ...).

Breakfast was great. Very large selection, in addition to juices, smoothies Fruit, eggs, various types of bread, cheese and sausage already prepared. Fully automatic coffee machines where you can choose a specialty.

Tonight Hengelo, live cooking ........ as always delicious .....

Reception was good. Rooms were fine, but a long walk to breakfast from the hotel room. Breakfast was good, but don't think this is the best breakfast in the Netherlands.

The hotel offers comfortable as new-looking clean rooms with spacious bathrooms that are fully equipped. The beds are good. The service is correct. The breakfast is very extensive. I can confidently recommend this hotel.

Christmas lunch at van der valk was great for each other! The food was delicious and we certainly did.

Lunch is good also the staff are friendly. However, the wait staff is too busy at lunch time to finish the evening. Already had lunch several times (12: 00-15: 00) where no attention is paid to empty glasses. Also asking if we want something tasty with coffee is my opinion an easy opening to a pastry or something ..
A little more attention to the guests and less to the "other tasks" would be my tip.

Good place to eat. Has a new look but is still like the old Van de Valk restaurants.. what is a pitty.

There is really nothing missing here everything is perfectly arranged whether you are at breakfast or the live cooking everything is arranged to perfection. At breakfast there is a lot of choice in different sandwiches fresh juices fill you can not be crazy think if it is there. The live cooking also very tasty pieces of meat buffets ice cream, this is definitely recommended. We almost always go to this hotel because it is so good, the rooms are very nice
