Van der Valk Hotel Emmeloord Review

Everything fine, not above expectations but certainly not short of anything.

Nicely stylishly decorated hotel / restaurant. And great food.

Reception was slow I was only one there and receptionist did not look up. Ordered food with no onions and garlic due to allergies came with both they did exchange. Ordered one hamburger to share as we were not that hungry got two. Service in restaurant was friendly so I paid for both Burger's. Rooms were clean king bed was two singles pushed together no air-conditioning. Price was 85EU with no breakfast. I would probably stay again. In the AM the receptionist was especially helpful booking us a room in a hotel an hour away. It is a beautiful plac.

The food was tasty, the service remained cool. But guys what a heat in this restaurant ......

Well, it is and remains Van der Valk. Price and quality in the right ratio. Time has also stood still for 40 years. Nostalgia.. ..? And you can moor with the boat in front of the door. Kei handy.

Always great food when I come there has never had anything disappointing

Made use of the very nicely priced autumn deal. Good reception, fast check-in, neat large room with spacious bathroom. Good breakfast, although I don't like bake-off sandwiches but they serve them everywhere nowadays. That's just the way it is.
We had booked a comfort room where I missed some comfort. No minibar, no coffee / tea making facilities, no tissues in the bathroom, temperature of the room cannot be individually regulated. The bathroom in particular was quite cold. I find these serious negatives for a 4 star hotel.

Just restaurant with friendly staff. The food was great. Not too much, but more than enough. Good value for money.

Unpredictable, so you have a good service, so it is completely worthless. We go there with a risk-avoiding attitude: At the slightest or least indication day that this is not the day, we continue. Food is stable reasonable to good. But for the price you pay, Van der Valk should really start thinking about professional waiters, and not those adolescents.

Very good hotel, quiet location, friendly service, excellent cuisine

Great hotel!
Very friendly and representative staff. We had the suite with a balcony. During our overnight stay a hornet flew in to see if there was something to eat, unfortunately we couldn't get him out the door after we called the reception they came to the rescue! That was successful and we got new bedding because the hornet had pooped on the bed and even apologies for the inconvenience (unfortunately they really couldn't do anything about it!) The food was very tasty and you will also find very friendly and accommodating staff! Chapeau!
The room and bathroom were spick and span with plenty of towels and luxury.
A small point is that there is very little light in the toilet, a slightly brighter light is allowed
There was plenty of parking, which is sometimes nice because we have already experienced that differently
We also had breakfast delivered to the room before 7.50, we indicated 10.00 and at 10.01 there was a knock on the door!
All in all, we had a great time and we recommend this hotel and therefore give it 5 stars.

The hotel is great. Good breakfast as you are used to at Van Der Valk. Special present because of our marriage. The hotel is outdated.

Had dinner here. Free parking, as one would expect from Van der Valk. The location is really quite beautiful, especially at night due to the water. Staff were very friendly. Sadly the giftshop didn't have many different sizes for a ring that was desired, but otherwise a great place.

The front office is hospitable and accommodating. The place is clean.

Rooms are great and staff unwise friendly. In comparison to other Van der Valk hotels, breakfast is a bit on the poor side.

Great but still 4 stars because the new Van der Valks deserve 5. That in connection with appearance and luxury.

Excellent care, delicious breakfast.
Only the cleaning was a bit disappointing.

pleasant service in Almere very nice and enthusiastic people

On Christmas Day we had a Christmas brunch at van der Valk in Emmeloord. In 2016 we visited van der Valk in Sneek.
Unfortunately it has been very disappointing this year.
Despite a good reception, the brunch was very disappointing.
In Sneek we were very satisfied with the quality and variety. Wide range of different types of fresh meat and fish and vegetables and potatoes
The offer in Emmeloord was very limited. 1 type of fish, 1 type of meat, no vegetables and potatoes There was also doubt about the freshness of what was on offer.
We independently agreed that this was a one-off. Because for 37.50 pp this was really a big disappointment.
Next year to Sneek again.

Delightful hotel. Good breakfast. Great room. In short, great to spend a weekend.

Nice piano in the hall, nice lobby and good food and drink. Good location as a stopover, nicely decorated. Certainly recommended as a stopover, I do not know overnight, but that will also be good

Delicious eaten. Good atmosphere. Cozy, attractive terrace and bar. Very friendly service. Large restaurant is a bit uncomfortable for my taste. But the terrace where you can also eat, weather permitting, is very attractive. Nice seats with fireplace. Very cosy.

Refueling during this time. Excellent service and very customer-friendly staff. The composed breakfast was more than sufficient and exceeded our expectations ;-)

Nice location to visit Giethoorn and the Weerribben from there. Hotel is a bit dated and has no air conditioning in the rooms. That is a requirement in 2020!

Location is perfect, just off the highway so that you have no problems and all the food is absolutely fine.

Breakfast area small but just fresh food and that's the point.
Downside was the bar rented in the early evening and not accessible to hotel guests! I do not think it is possible for a hotel .... hotel guests should not be bothered by that. Later in the evening it was open and cozy.

Very neat hotel, with a good restaurant. I think some rooms still have to be renovated ... they are a bit outdated.

Friendly is no problem here. however, many "little things" spoil the overnight stay at this hotel. Internet is (often) not good and the rooms are no longer up to date .. Breakfast, as in almost all vd Valks excellent. They have an ear to our wishes. Who knows??

Update 2017: Unfortunately, the hotel has deteriorated a lot and in many ways: In the arrangement, the second dinner was canceled so that you get around 25 euros less for the same money (99 ). The rooms could slowly be renovated, they are now very musty as the ventilation is catastrophic as described below. In the past you could find halfway German-speaking staff at the reception and in the restaurant, we could only communicate in Dutch and English. Electric bikes were booked in advance but not available, they would be "under repair" ... Whoever thinks ...
The worst thing, however, is the check-out: Despite a booked arrangement for 200 euros (plus a few additional costs for bike and drinks) we should only pay over 900 euros (!) Because everything was billed at normal prices. The corrected invoice was still over 350 euros and only when we went through each item individually did the correct invoice come about. BAD! Whoever pulls out the credit card prematurely in good faith will be annoyed when he gets home. In 2018 we will probably try the Hotel Voorhuys ...

And here is my report, which reports on nicer short breaks but unfortunately can no longer do without the above corrections.

We have stayed at this hotel three times for the tulip bloom at the end of April / beginning of May and always very satisfied. At that time there is an arrangement every year: 2 nights in a double room with breakfast and 3-course dinner (excluding drinks) for 99 euros per person. The location is quiet, but easy to reach from Germany via the autobahn. It is a few kilometers to the city center. Entire rabbit families can be admired in front of the hotel, an indication of the rural environment.

The rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms even more: the showers are approx. 1x1 m and despite the additional bathtub, the bathroom is still not cramped. Everything is very clean and just comfortable and spacious. There are only a few German channels on the TV in the room, but WiFi in the room is free.
We had an additional bed set up for our child, but there is still enough space in the room for two armchairs and a table. Alternatively, there are also 2 identical rooms with connecting doors to live with the children but sleep separately (70 euros surcharge for two nights, absolutely reasonable). There are only 4 of these rooms with a connecting door in the hotel, so reserve in good time!
Two drawbacks with the rooms: You don't have a terrace to yourself, very wide corridors run around in front of the windows, so that sometimes people stand or walk past the window.
Second drawback: the ventilation! There is no window that you can leave open (even at night). The door can be hooked in, but the air gap is then only 1-2 cm wide, so there is not really any fresh air in the huge room. Since the rooms apparently have NO air conditioning, I can't imagine how warm it is in summer. In May the rooms were warmed up, but still on the verge of pain in terms of fresh air.

The breakfast buffet is rich and leaves nothing to be desired: salmon, scrambled eggs, muesli, sausages, cheeses and jams, types of bread, coffee, tea, cappuccino, latte, chocolate
the menus are in Dutch and English, with little German in between. The waiters are also less geared towards German, but they all speak English well. The food tastes great, drinks at reasonable prices.
The same applies here: the restaurant is very warm! They were also all dressed up, so leave your slippers in your room!
You can rent bicycles in the hotel (around 6 euros a day), there are around 20 of them, all of which are easily adjustable in height. E-bikes cost around 30 euros.
Check-in and check-out is quick and easy with German-speaking staff, payment by VISA card or EC card (WARNING 2017: see text above!). We are VERY satisfied for the price and will be back for the 2015 tulip bloom.

Very good kitchen, even if you are late you can get twelve hours. Friendly staff. Good accessible for wheelchair users. Also toilet very good for wheelchair users. Will probably go to this location of van der Valkenburg more often.

Had a wonderful time and ate well. Our only complaint would be the mattresses. These are 2 separate mattresses in a double bed that slide apart enormously. Furthermore, everything was top again as we are used to from Van der Valk.

Nicely decorated and super located hotel. Many terraces. Coffee service with cakes in the lobby. Ideal also for a short coffee break. Highway off and on. Is therefore conveniently located for passing motorists.

Very good breakfast. Indoor swimming pool is recommended.

Got a place in the back because of the dog. Dog did great by the way.

The food was fine, the bed was too hard for us, it is just not pleasant to have a view of containers and the wallpaper came loose in various places.

Great hotel, large room, good food and a lovely bed

It is a nice place to relax after a long drive. A cup of coffee, lunch or dinner, it's all here. Today on the terrace, quickly helped with a delicious cappuccino.

Only minor points, air conditioning was not really on cold, 18 was minimal.
And here and there a few little spider webs.

Suite 122.Booked through Hotels.nl. Luxury suite that overlooked the parking lot. Extra door in room opens onto gallery. Super large luxury bathroom with bubble bath and walk-in shower where you can both with 2 people. Nice big LED TV. Bed was 2x2 meters with lots of pillows. Hygiene fine. Both dinner and breakfast perfectly fine. With the caveat that the self-service breakfast area was very dark. Mini bar and shower / bath corner / shampoo etc. included in the price. Electric kettle and coffee machine. Only downside is that there is no air conditioning in room. making it very sultry in the room. Outside temperature was around 22 degrees. So in the summer it is probably much warmer. For such a luxurious room and associated high price, this is really a lack. For me reason not to book something like this anymore.

Real van der falk nicely received friendly staff and well eaten 1 person was on lactose and gluten free diet was nicely multiple and good alternatives offered for eating.

Nice hotel with large rooms. Bathroom outdated with narrow bath and old shower. Very hygienic rooms. Asked and received a quiet room! Friendly service. Very spacious and tasty breakfast. The sauna and the steam bath are very good and clean, choice of guests to wear bathing clothes.
