For 45 days at the end of August, through the beginning of October of 2016, I was held captive at a fake rehab. I entered to detox from Suboxone. When I arrived, they tried to up my Suboxone from 8mg to 16mg, gave me seroquel (everyone got this), and added Klonopin to my list of drugs. I literally had to rehab myself. The therapists were atrocious and completely unprofessional. They put me on as many drugs as possible, with the hopes I would come back. Many people did return. Some relapsed, and one even died a week after leaving. Another passed away a year after her treatment. THIS PLACE IS CRIMINAL AND SHOULD BE SUED. They gave people other people s medication resulting in an emergency room visit MORE THAN ONCE. On top of that, the only doctor they allow you to see, ironically OWNS the rehab! If that isn t conflict of interest, then I do not know what is. Do NOT waste your cash here if you need help.

I went to Valley after having several unsuccessful attempts to stop drinking. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. The difference this time was I put in the work. Just celebrated 1 year of sobriety!

My daughter went here for help and was there for 1 day and the whole staff quit. I was unhappy with that but more disturbing to me was the one doctor they have on staff went on vacation and they did not have a back up doctor when my daughter started having severe anxiety about 2 weeks into her stay. I pleaded with the staff to give her an Ativan or something but they could not without consent from the doctor. My daughter left that night and began her downward spiral. My advice to anyone seeking treatment please make sure they have a back up Doctor for emergencies and the staff is happy.. I also want to point out the director is not helpful when I went to see him and was warned I was hostile , not true at all . I'm not sure if the right person is running this facility.

I have family here and I m grateful for this facility. It s clean, everyone is nice and are helping my person through the detox and recovery process. In 2 weeks, they have made huge progress. I m happy with the program.

EDIT: it is 30 days today and all I can say is this is a wonderful place with caring people and well organized staff. My person is going to sober living and they are setting her up with everything she needs to succeed as well as after care and support. The way it is run encourages support of other people there and it is truly helpful. My person now has to goal to work there after a year clean and sober and I know it is going to change many lives. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility. There is not a lot of contact (calls twice a week and visits on the weekend) but honestly, it was the best thing for all of us as a family.

Was given someone else's medicine twice by two different nurses who became defensive and denied it. One of the same male nurses on the End by the dining hall left me standing there after a 20-minute wait to get my meds to go get a Starbucks coffee that one of the staff brought him. He was uncouth and disgusting he dropped my medicine on the floor picked it up put it back in the lid he was using his fingernails which were gross and I reported it to the head nurse.

was he on his break? NO! Should he be doing that? no! he even left me standing there while he took several sips of his yummy coffee I was interrupting his coffee time while he was supposed to be giving out meds.

Was giving 6 to 900 mg of Gabapentin a day to dope people up so that they wouldn't talk or bother anybody I slept most of the time and my blood pressure went very high from the Gabapentin. Instead of addressing they added other medications to try to lower it. One patient I spoke to went to the hospital by ambulance and they wouldn't help him so when he came back he left because of the blood pressure problem that wasn't being addressed .
Was told a dietitian was on staff and they would honor your dietary restrictions such as lactose intolerant which was untrue and they would not honor my restriction after being asked 3 times. After I was there almost 3 weeks they told me to get a note from the doctor.
Inpatients were put in charge of the classes which is totally unacceptable and those patients were given preferential treatment as in him in the girl touching each other she was in his room twice cut her calling him honey bunny I love you and s*** and they said that they don't tolerate that but just ignored it his door was open that stereo was blasting couldn't even hear what medications they were trying to give me.This place is paid an arm and a leg for people to stay there there was no excuse for lack of Staff, lack of counselors ,lack of attendance to the classes lots of them saying they were emergencies okay well that's a facility that should be aware there's emergencies stuff is going to happen and have enough staff to accommodate that and still treat the others No excuse. Also, lying and saying counselors are there on the weekend to teach a class but if they don't show will go on a walk or something they're never there on the weekend they just tell you they might come in and if they don't they're going to take you on a field trip but it's all a hoax. Glenn was an excellent teacher and counselor.
Worst of all I was verbally threatened, reported it and nothing was done about it.
Someone there is rolling in some major $$$$dough while doing nothing it appears.
In between the Slackers and lazy ass people that work there some of the people were actually conscientious hard workers like look like they miss their lunch their breaks they're all stressed out and they were taking up the slack for the other people that were f****** off janitorial staff the three girls we're doing nothing they pushed around one trash can all together and they hung out hiding in the laundry room where they folded the clothes so they could all visit and gossip and Whisper they did not clean the rooms you're supposed to do the bathroom every day it was 8 days before they cleaned it only cuz I told them to they do nothing. Someone might want to actually check up on these people. VIP some lady was sent there by her husband that are on Suboxone whatever that is and when she started having a temper tantrum cuz they were cutting back her dose day and just increased it back up she's been there longer than me they never detoxed her they were just giving her drugs what's the point of recovery home. She's clearly messed up rolling her eyes droop in her head back and forth couldn't even hold her head up how does that look to the rest of us that are trying to recover very bad

I have worked closely with the team at Valley Recovery on a number of occasions. All the clients I have sent to treatment at Valley have done very well and have excellent feedback regarding their personal experiences while in treatment. Their staff is a pleasure to work with and very good at communicating. I give their entire team and program 5 stars!

I had a friend that attended this facility and it is amazing! I was hesitant based off of previous reviews but after visiting this place I knew it was going to be perfect for him. He s now on a great path and we are so proud of him!

I got administratively discharged today by being too active for my own good. S/O to Anthony and Jason the best techs. Jovon, your the best counselor I've ever met, I appreciate you, Valley does not deserve you. Other than that I have nothing good to say about the program really. If your goal is to sit on your butt for 30-60-90 days and do nothing except increase your risk of lung cancer then go to this program. They do nothing whatsoever in terms of helping you with after care. Expect to be loaded up with all sorts or unnecessary sedating medication, listen to people complain daily, and deal with general understaffed chaos the whole time you're there. The only thing that this place cares about is their money.

Horrible . Recovery is not priority. If you have a two year degree you have more education than 90% of staff. No therapist even on duty. Valley bills insurance for about $2400 a day. This place is an absolute circus. The worst part is that the staff know what a joke this place is and they do nothing about it. Housekeeping was wonderful. The food was ok.

What a disappointment. I believe all addiction is ...

What a disappointment. I believe all addiction is attached to some type of mental illness. This facility treats short-term detox, not at all underlying issues. The staff dr. treats everyone with the same meds, without regard to individual needs. The staff is overworked, most often spending time behind closed doors or behind their sound proof "booths" rather than integrating with patients. I actually watched them facetiming and SnapChatting on their phones through the windows. Really folks?

I received only one therapy session, that was an intake session. Received no help or referral for my depression and PTSD, just a barrage of meds that are designed for detox, which was--even according to the staff doc--over in less than 48 hours.

Food was so high in sodium I was sick. Some of the food staff was intolerably unhappy, which is not a good recipe for integrating with people who were admittedly imbalanced at the time.

There was little control over the patients OR staff. I was most often woken at night by loud conversation by both, or TVs blaring at 1 a.m. No one attempted to provide discipline or structure. It was unruly chaos.

I went to get discharged and was told by the dr. I was ready to go. I actually listened to him dictate chart notes that he agreed and endorsed my request. Later that day, when I approached the on-site staff, I was told the doc recommended an additional 22 days stay, and that I'd be balance billed. Why would my insurance want to pay for unneeded care?? I can only believe they wanted to fill their pricey beds.

Then only good thing about Valley was the patients...

This place is not thought of very highly in the community. Staff are not all alcoholic/addict and can t understand.
Open only 5 years with an extremely low success rate. You might as well flush your effort to recover, and your money down the toilet. Be wise and do your homework before even thinking about this place.

The clinical director at this facility is running this place into the ground. Since his arrival and start at that facility, all the counselors and health technicians have quit due to his horrible style of management. Until he is fired, i wouldn't recommend going there for help. Also thu have doctor is never on site, you have to skype him in order to be "examined". He pretty much prescribes everybody the same exact things, including 1-3 anti depressants, seroquil, trazadone etc.... Its complete malpractice... YOUVE BEEN WARNED********

People, I PROMISE YOU, this place has not worked for ANYONE. After i left, I heard so many stories about how shady this place is, that I started to get annoyed, not only with the lack of care, but the amount of horror stories I heard. I will not go into details as to how messed up this program is, because if i did that I believe I could put this place out of business. As big of a resentment that I have with VALLEY, I try to convince myself that maybe they will change someday, and start to actually care about people. Hoping. Always, hoping.

I just got my 18 month chip! Thank you valley for giving me the foundation of my recovery. I m active in My 12 step program. I got a sponsor right away and started working the steps. I have an awesome group of friends who live life sober now.
I ll be honest. It wasn t easy and I wanted to give up when I first got there. But the staff wouldn t give up on me. Their experience and understanding of addiction and mental health gave me the confidence that d I would be successful this time. They were right. Work is going great. I m active and emotionally available for my kids. Now that I have my own place again I m getting a couple weekends a month with them. I had to do the work but thank you valley for the support and guidance in my path to healthy sober living....

I BRING YOU AN UPDATE: So over the past 24 hours I have received nothing but false information on my loved one, even though I am on every form of release they had him sign. Was told after 5 days he would be allowed to call, have not heard from him. Saw him on Christmas, he said that it is a pretty good facility for patients in need; however, if you are someone like me, who would actually like to keep in contact with your loved one through their journey I would not recommend this place. When I called and asked why I received false information, the nurse straight up hung up on me.

I was never admitted to this place, but a loved one of mine is currently in their facility. I was told I could call and check in on him 24 hours a day. I have been calling them for the past 2 days and they have only answered once and all they told me was that he was in Group Therapy and to call back later. I m not sure what it takes to get ahold of someone in this place, but I don t like that I can t check on my loved one.

I'd give them zero stars if I could. 4 years ago I went through treatment here and actually would have recommended it to anyone I know. The whole program was great. New management ruined the place, and runs its strictly as a profit hungry business, cutting costs in every way, and squeezing every dollar that they can out of it. They let all the staff go, and converted the offices to bedrooms. It's severely understaffed and overcrowded with patients. On my recent stay here, I was told during intake that my insurance would cover 100% of my inpatient stay, but on Day 6 they say my insurance only covered 3 days, and that I now owe them for 3 days @ a daily rate of $850. They literally couldn't even feed all of their clients! They were actually running out of food at almost every meal. Lol I'm not paying them anything

A very pleasant Company to work for. The new Management Team has worked hard to bring up this facility to Standard. The Staff are friendly and helpful. I have learned a lot working at VRCC. Present MHT and proud. Thank you VRCC.

Excellent facilities. The staff were very compassionate and treated everybody like humans. I know that sounds silly but I've been to other facilities were that was not the case. Highly recommended

I agree with what I briefly read in these reviews, there was definitely a level of chaos and it was somewhat of a circus. However, so is life. I'm glad for the time I spent at Valley, I was ready to get sober and that meant some chaos is just inevitable and that's going to have to be OK. It was great training for when I was released from the bubble of residential treatment. There are good people there, nothing is going to be perfect for everyone and maybe not for anyone. Nothing in early recovery makes sense, you just listen and do what those who got sober before you did.

No structure. They make up rules as they go. No one is on the same page. The therapist named Jeremy is a fat liar. I saw my friend go into a segur because they wouldn't send him to a doctor. Perfect for jail birds.

My dad will be celebrating three years of sobriety in February thanks to the amazing staff and environment at Valley. It was clean, welcoming, and my dad really enjoyed his time here. Thank you so much to all of the staff and participants who helped him during his recovery. I am so grateful to have my Dad back. He is doing incredibly well. Thank you.

This place is a joke! If you seriously need help for your addiction, save your time and go somewhere else. Same goes for the outpatient program. Do your research when you choose a place for your recovery, but scratch this place off your list. Your life and future are far to important to wasre to waste your time!

This place was horrible. First off the environment is like a rest home. Then when my son got there he had to share a room with others and a bathroom with four others. It took him four days just to get a bath towel. By then he had enough. Horrible place. Don't take your child there unless they are court ordered.

I have had the privilege of getting to know the staff at Valley Recovery Center and they truly care about helping to build the foundation for long term recovery. The facility is appealing, clean, and the staff is friendly. It is very rewarding to see someone take control of their sobriety.

My family member stayed here for one night, and we came and got them the next day after dropping them off. She went through a 5 day medical detox at john muir in concord, which was a very awesome place by the way, and came here to do a live in recovery program. The facility itself appears very nice but is extremely filthy. There are no doctors or nurses on site, and the people who stay there sneak in drugs from outside people. After leaving and checking my family member out, we realize they never gave us my family members iPhone back. I go and ring the doorbell and one of the ladies tries to tell me they never had her phone, and didn't even offer to check for it until I said I knew for a fact they brought it with them. And not to mention they also tried to put my family member on an opiate to "detox them and wein them off" but yet my family member was already detoxed at John Muir and weined off of the opiates. I do not recommend this place to anyone who is seriously looking for help for their family or friends.
