Top hospital.

Top hospital.
I browsed through the reviews and I notice that many people are not satisfied with their waiting times. For these people I have a reality check.
This is a hospital, not a cash register of the GB where the first to queue is also the first to go outside. No. This is a hospital, here it applies that the persons most at risk are given priority. So while you are waiting with your hernia, or your cold sore, it may well be that the doctors first concern themselves with the people who have just been brought in with the ambulance who just had a bad car accident. Saving lives. I can imagine that your hernia hurts and your cold sore looks suspicious, but a broken neck and internal bleeding are just a bit more urgent.
Give the staff some respect and time, if you press 5 times during an urgent intervention, it may well be that you have to wait longer because you require someone from the staff to come to you.

In addition, if you start out from Google to a hospital like David Verbelen below, you should really feel ashamed. "As CEO of one of the largest companies in Belgium, sir, you are an independent florist ...

If you really want to go to the hospital then I can recommend you to do this directly in the UZA itself, to their ombuds or the complaints department. (Yes they have it!) Google reviews will not solve this for you.

This clinic has state of the art research and top medical treatments and dedicated staff
However the building is not maintaned - i stayed nearly 5 months in a room with damaged ceilings, broken window , no rolling shutter, only patrtially painted walls, broken non fixed floor plints, and above all an antique tv set 20 years old instead of of modern smart tv
Uza should do much more to create a positive vibe by interior design, light, colors
This was even worser as the room should have been perfect reverse isolation room ( i am sure the conditions did not permit the adequate air quality

I had to be admitted on October 5 and would be operated on October 6. So we go to Uza well on time by public transport because we don't have a car. I was admitted, lay in bed when I was told, madam, the operation cannot go ahead tomorrow. You can go home again. Is it so difficult to give us a call to inform you? I have to be readmitted on Sunday and the operation is scheduled for Monday. I contacted myself today and she assured me that the operation will continue. I'm curious ... Continued ...

Service extension inspires little confidence, not pleasant experiences. Even in an emergency, the prejudices are so great that you even doubt the medical concerns. Painful experience will also contribute to this report, greetings

beware! When you come for surgery your express is misinformed by the nurse. They ask if you want one or more person rooms. As a foreigner you do not know what the consequences are. When you ask about this, it is said that you may not get the extra costs of 65 euros for a single room. They ask if you want to sign for the room, it appears to state that the specialist's fee may be increased by 200%. What the operation costs or what the exact increase actually is is not stated. You sign in good faith. Afterwards, it turns out that you pay 3x the rate and are not reimbursed 2x of course. Pure scams. They're behind you signing. Bad thing and the ombudsman does not help you either! Specialist by the way top.

My mother-in-law was admitted to the UZA last week for surgery on her heart from her groin.
After the operation she was in a lot of pain, she indicated this and the doctor just said don't put it on.
She kept in pain she did not keep it full of pain we have I know how often to ask for a painkiller, we also insisted on conducting an investigation because something could have gone wrong during the operation because her upper leg did not feel had more.
Finally I had an ultrasound for any internal bleeding, according to them all was fine.
Then the night nursing came my mother-in-law didn't have to put herself up as who says this now as a nurse! she also brought my mother-in-law a painkiller after 5 am.
Wednesday MUST AND WILL BE fired, but still my mother-in-law was in pain and could not do anything with her leg, she insisted on being transferred to Lier.
There they immediately said that something went wrong in edegem, because there are no words for what her leg looks like.
Something can always go wrong, but stand up for it and don't let the patients go home just like that, because the symptoms are only getting worse and the patient is finally bothered!
In Edegem you had a few nurses who were fun and committed to their work.
But hats off to the nurses in Lier who are much better !!

Like others already described, the UZA is a factor...

Like others already described, the UZA is a factory. Per 'route' there are 'doctors' who help each other by sending customers back and forth to do examinations. It is so bad that they themselves do not know why they have conducted studies. This in combination with accounting that does not function at all. Send double invoices (first invoice small amounts separately, then claim that they have not been paid with a hefty surcharge of 10 to 15 euros per so-called unpaid invoices) Even one-off 50 euros ... If you ask the question about the accounting, a lot promised but send invoices again.
Invoices of even 4-5 and 6 years after date.
I don't know how they did with the insurance, but because of their incorrect administration, my work accident was suddenly declared null and void.
Folks there are other hospitals that I suppose do the same, beware. But stay away from here because they do it with 200 percent certainty.

I am for the first time for an appointment at the dept. Was Pain Clinic at Dr.Ann Dierick.
She received me in her room and asked if the room door could stay open !!!! It was very hot in the hospital (as always and I had experience elsewhere) She looked excited and I said something to her but did not answer, when I made a comment about it she was very irritated, she wanted to go to the " concentration "and asked quite unfriendly, authoritarian and arrogant a number of questions, when I, as a patient, wanted to answer and explain them for the first time, she interrupted me every time. I said something but Mrs lived in her own world and was not at all nice and entertaining. She still has to follow a customer-friendliness course (it must be a physician who has been sent out) In short, the conversation was not pleasant and I could not tell much at all where she had some attention and listened. In short, a lot of noise and an atmosphere of the 60s. a doctor (of whom I am also a patron!) must put the customer at ease and get a good idea of what is going on. friendliness and empathetic thinking is a first requirement. I myself have been in business for 45 years and I have had many conversations, but I have never encountered it so badly. I told her that too. She may not tolerate contradiction. I will NEVER go back.
