I go to Uwajimaya for all of my Japanese groceries. I love the variety at the store in downtown Seattle, but for ease of access, the Renton store is great. Lots of free parking and most everything I would want to purchase on a regular basis.

I have been going to the Uwajimaya in Seattle since 2015 when I worked at the apartment complex on top of it. I even drove to Seattle during the beginning stages of the Covid 19 outbreak even though I don t live there anymore to give business to the small restaurants when nobody else did. Today I tried the Uwajimaya in Renton for the first time and was asked to leave because I did not have a face mask. I then pointed out several customers also not wearing a mask and asked why they where not asked to leave. The employee said they where asking everyone who is not wearing a mask to leave. So I said why don t you ask him to leave as there was a person standing right next to her without a face mask. She said nothing, I left and watched several customers leaving the store with groceries from the parking lot with no mask. None of them where white and that s the only difference that I could see. Don t wast your time with this regressive store it does not represent the respect of the Uwajimaya family like there Seattle location continues to do. It s a disgrace to see that name drug in the dirt by the same mind set of the people that Uwajimaya stood against so long ago. I will not return to this location and am very disappointed to see racist behavior amidst the recent events in this nation from a Uwajimaya employee who should know better.

The location is clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Prices on certain items can be higher than other Asian stores in the area but the cleanliness keeps me going back to this store and other store locations. It offers a variety of ramon, tea, produce and snacks.

Oasis Tea Zone has a store inside this Waji store. the Hong Kong style milk tea is the best, hot or cold.

I speak a little Japanese, and a little other Asian languages. I come here when I need a refresher. I love it. The people and food are great here. Feels like a tight family place to hang out and let my kids explore. Can't wait to take them.

Decent selection of food. Vegetables tend to be hit or miss but usually pretty fresh. Good selection of oils and seasonings. Great meat and seafood department and happy to take orders. Not the best Uwajimaya compared to the flagship in Seattle or the Bellevue location but has become a staple store to visit here in Renton to pick up anything to make the next evenings dinner

Came after my cousin and his wife said they Love coming here. They're from Hawaii and said they have poke and tons of stuff they'd find in Hawaii so my little fam came to check it out. They have super fresh seafood and local oysters. Also, a variety of poke. The deli is pretty awesome too! I'll def make the trek up to come get groceries here.

Going to this store is like stepping thru a portal and emerging in an exotic land where grocery shopping is an adventure in itself. Full of wonder and fascination, coupled with surprise and hidden danger. Where, if you're not careful and not equipped with the necessary observational skills, you might end up with a mouthful of porkchop popsicle. But on the flipside, you just might find ur new favorite snack.

Amazing and huge store with lots of selection. However the joy of my trip was killed quickIy. I was very concerned to see the condition of the seafood area. They sell live Tilapia, however at the bottom of the tank several carcasses and dying fish sat there on display while others swam around. Horrendous and nauseating what horrible conditions these fish are living in. I understand that they are food, however there should be humane treatment of life. If this is not fixed by my next visit, I will be forced to call the Public Health Food board.

A lot cleaner than any other Asian Grocery store I have been to, this place really is set at a higher standard than the others. The produce and meats are all fresh and premium quality. However, the prices are also higher. For the price paid, the performance and quality you receive are superb though.

I have loved Uwajimaya since I was a kid. Finding one in Renton was a real treat! Great ready to eat foods, both hot and cold, that are fresh and prepared daily. Everything you could ever want from a Japanese market. These elements coupled with a friendly staff make this place my go to lunch spot!

I called to see if the store had whole cat fish. I had to drive for 30 mins.to get there.. The store mgr. Told me the shipment would in at 12:00 arrived at 1:00 no fish
Then he said around 2:00 waited until 3:00 no fish a wasted day and gas. Wish there is a place in Tocoma where I can purchase whole cat fish.

Great selection and prices are much better than the big chain stores. Fish swimming in tanks.. a great take out kitchen with your meal cooked while you wait. Organic choices could be better but overall good assortment of fruits and veggies.

This place isn't huge, and is pan Asian, so your specialty item may not be here. As my photo suggests, they have a great selection of asian snacks.

They also have a good produce section. Good variety and high quality.

A great Asian grocery store. This is our 'go to' for fresh fish. We typically get a pound of ahi on a regular basis, and the butchers do really great with removing the blood vein and scales. Great teas as well...

They are requiring face coverings for entry, social distancing markers in the checkout lines, and clear barriers everywhere possible.

And as always, the store is clean and with an amazing selection of products.

I love this place. The hot and sour soup is great, although you have to pick the right day the other food at the hot bar is delish. The produce department is nice, fresh, clean and well stocked as is the seafood department. Every sauce you could ever want and the prices are super reasonable.
