I absolutely loved this place and attending the U.S. Open here. I love sports and have been to many sports events. I'm a big fan of many many athletics events. But by far, the u.s. open at BJK and flushing meadows was the absolutely best experience I've had. Great place and great atmosphere. I would attend every year if I could. I dont know how I feel about the roof on Arthur Ashe now, but I will reserve total judgement until I can visit again.

Felt less crowded this year and I've been going to The Open for the last 17 yrs. All of the modifications and construction have made more seating and eating areas available. It made it feel so much less congested except for the change over from day to night.

The best tennis venue in the world hosted one of the biggest and best sporting events in the world - 2018 U.S. Open. From the friendly greeting at the south gate to the walkway of champions, to seeing Arthur Ashe rise to meet you. The fountain area is a logical gathering spot. And there are plenty of place to eat and drink. Then watching the tennis on the ground or on Ashe or Armstrong is why you come. It is not cheap to attend and food and drink is spendy, but the tennis cannot be beat!

Our visit took place a couple of months prior to the US Open taking place so there was a great deal of building work taking place throughout. This however didn t distract from the spectacle of the venue. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. We enjoyed playing in some of the outlying courts and got a real sense of theatre, imagining how tense it would be with a full crowd in attendance. Highly recommended.

Magnificent facility to watch world class tennis. The new roof has made a tremendous difference in not having to worry about getting wet when it rains. Wide array of food choices, not the usual, cheap stadium fare as well.

Amazing experience watching the top players battle it out at the Arthur Ashe stadium for the U.S. Open. Plenty of variety to choose from in terms of food and drinks around the stadium. Taking the train to the arena is the best option I think. There are always last minute cheap deals for tickets, so always keep on the lookout online.

This is the most underrated Park in New York City the real downside is no one pays attention to it until the US Open so most of the beautiful aspects about this park will not get cleaned until August

Everyone is pleasant and it is a nice place to walk around between matches. There is a good food court, but prices are high.
One area that needs improvement is handicap accommodation. There is only one elevator available for use by the wheelchairs, cane users, and the stroller brigade.

The United States Open Tennis Championships; US Op...

The United States Open Tennis Championships; US Open is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, which in modern tennis are the largest annual tournaments. Therefore, the attention of millions of sports fans is riveted to the competition.

The US Open is held in New York (USA) on the courts of the local National Tennis Center, and is organized by the US Tennis Association. The main tournament nets are traditionally held for two weeks in late August - early September. As a result, winners are identified in nine categories: in five - in adults and four - in senior juniors. All courts of the tournament (since 1978) have a hard cover, matches are held outdoors.

The tournament has been leading its history since the end of the 19th century, when it was first held in August 1881. But then it was held under the name "US National Championship for Men" on grass courts in the city of Newport (Rhode Island) and only in singles. Moreover, only clubs-members of the National Association of USA Lawn Tennis could participate in the tournament. The first winner in singles was the American tennis player Richard Sears.
In 1884, the competition moved to New York. Three years later, as part of these competitions, the women's single tournament "US National Championship for Women" was held, it was held in the Cricket Club of Philadelphia. In 1889, the pair tournament National Championship of the USA among women s couples and also the National Championship of the USA among mixed couples followed.

At first, the tournament was held separately in the eastern and western parts of the country to identify the two strongest teams, which then played among themselves, and the winner got the right to fight for the championship with the current title holder. The practice of conducting preliminary rounds was discontinued in the 1910s.

In 1968, all the championships were combined into one general tournament called "US Open" (US Open), which was held at the West Side Tennis Club, in Forest Hills. The competition was attended by 96 men and 63 women, the prize fund amounted to 100 thousand US dollars. By the way, for the first time the tournament was open for professional tennis players, who until that time were not allowed to play here.

In 1978, the US Open venue was moved from Forest Hills to Flushing Meadows, where it is currently running. The main focus of the tournament, of course, is on adult professional tennis players. They will win awards in the following categories: male single, female single, double male, double female, mixed (mixed).

The experience at the US Open is amazing. However, delicious food options are very limited. The only place worth going to is Lure the raw bar. Their salads were mouth watering! Skip the names you know like Melt, Pat La Freida or Curry Kitchen. All are over priced with tiny portions.
