Excellent place. Fairly close to parking building....

The horrors experience during the Hitler regime should never be forgotten lest history repeats itself. Take your time and become immersed in the entire experience.
Need to take your time, very impactful, highly recommend.
Very sobering. I have seen plenty on the Holocaust throughout the years, however seeing so much of it and reading the facts all in a short time time is hard. Seeing how evil people can be is disconcerting.
A must see for all to see and learn to prevent from ever happening again
This museum is powerful. It is my favorite museum in the D.C. area it has the best layout and the information has so much depth. I have been there no less than 5 times and I still see new things. I highly recommend coming in at "strange" days like holidays that are not federal to have as much time alone as you can with this emotion grabbing, solemn, and thought provoking place.
Emotional, moving, but very good representation of what occurred during WWII with the Holocaust.
Lots to see and learn here. There are also lots of artifacts.
This place is excellent to know this so depressing event that I distress humanity. You will see objects of the time, you will have direct contact with survivors.
Very good service and kindness with which they treat people.
This is the best holocaust museum I have ever been to. The permanent exhibition was very powerful and moving. They really showed how evil Hitler was, and how the jews were persecuted. I didn't even get to see the whole thing. If you are looking to see the entire thing I recommend making a weekend out of it, or extending your stay in DC if you are traveling. It is a very powerful museum, and I want to go again.
Plan the day around this museum. I spent 3 hours just in the main exhibit. It's powerful.
Very interesting display with a LOT of information. Make sure to get there early as there are only so many tickets they give out in a day.
It is very good. It is very freaky. Unlike Germany which reflects, Japan without reflection is hard to accept
When I took my wife and kids to our nations capital, I asked my 13 and 17 year old sons what they wanted to see. One said "Arlington ", the other said "The Holicost Museum". Both were experiences I hold dearly, though, this was my favorite.
Enlightening and moving, a place everyone should visit.
This was a very moving experience, you really feel the emotions all the way through. A must see.
Very well done. Unfortunately there were so many people that we didn't get to read all the placards.
A beautiful and interesting display of the historic move that led to the Holocaust and of course the events of the war itself. The museum is highly invested and highly recommended!
Very moving. It is unbelievable that such atrosities happened. The amount of history in this place is amazing. It truly gives you a wonderful learning of history.
Very educational. The staff is well informed and shared their knowledge. I didnt take photos as it seemed a bit disrespectful.
This is an essential meusum that everyone should experience. The Holocaust is something that should never be forgotten and this meusum shows it at every level. Also, there's an exhibit on the Syrian civil war to check out on the second floor.
Fantastic museum for understanding holocaust. Well planned exhibits. One of the must visit museum when you are in D.C.
All of us should know about this sad part of the world history, it is a interesting tour.
I learned so much from this museum. Definitely recommend.
Awful what humans are capable of. Everyone should visit this museum.
So much information and history, plan on staying awhile
Wow the reality of the Holocaust is put right in front of you in a amazingly beautiful and sobering way
Absolutely amazing. So much information. Although the subject matter is very sad, it's not presented in a way that overemphasized the horror. Just presented in a straightforward, factual, chronological order. I still don't think it's any place for kids tho. Not sure they would be able to properly understand and deal with it. Loved that survivors were available to talk to in person. How kind of them to share their stories.
The amount of information and the way it is presented makes 3 hours seem.like ten minutes, let us never forget.
Informative and sobering. Staff is very helpful. Highly recommend! Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours, lots too take in.
If you have never been to a Holocaust museum, you must go. It is so sad how the human race is able to treat one another. It will give you an understanding of what the Jewish people endured. So sad, it's my 3rd Holocaust museum and I recommend it.
A powerful reminder of the unspeakable cruelties that humans can do others. One cannot forget that there have been genocides committed since then without the notoriety but that should have been.
This was an incredible experience. It was very interesting, educational, and overwhelming at points. It really is a must stop in DC.
Very sobering experience. Be sure to reserve (free) passes for permanent exhibit.
Going through the Holocaust Museum made a huge impact on me; one I will never forget! It s one thing reading about it in history books, but to see actual artifacts and see and read all the history and the victims pictures! I came out of it just crying my eyes out! Every person should go to Washington DC to see it! We should all never forget, so it never happens again!
Probably one of the best museums I have seen. It is hard, and it takes at least 3 hours to see it if you are interested in the subject and you do not see everything above.
Well done but just too big, so many things to see that you don't know where to look. We saw the very good movie resuming the Holocaust so going to the special expedition (with SO many people !) didn't add much. Too much is not always better. We were exhausted.
Not as big as the other museums around, but a must see.
Interesting but sad memorial. Well designed for the tour. Allow 2 hours at least. It's free from September to May.
The silence here was truly amazing, great info on the holocaust.
I wouldn't be the right person to leave a review on this I haven't done much research history I simply went with my girlfriend it seemed like a very nice huge informational place if that's something you're into
Well worth the visit!! Could have spent more time here.
You should have to visit and let the people know this.
Spent 5 hours in the museum and could have spent more
Beautiful place with an amazing experience and perfect information.
It really helps you remember and reflect on all the pain that was experienced through the Holocaust. It'll definitely make you cry though.
To be honest nothing could have prepared me for my visit to the Holocaust Memorial Museum. Eye opening and soul touching are the best descriptions I can conjur up. A must do if you're ever in DC is all that I'll add. Tickets are free but make sure to book them in advance on the ushmm website as they are limited in number.
This was an emotional experience. The wall size pictures had me imagining the horrors people must have went through. This is an important place to visit to understand why sometimes war is necessary.
Incredible experience. Too much to take in one three hour outing. But it gives you a full understanding why current events with President Trump are so frightening. Development of nationalistic and isolationist policies may leave us vulnerable to allowing atrocities not only in other countries but our own.
It is important especially at this time to never forget that hate still exists. We must make sure it never wins here in the U.S.A.
This is far more than just a museum. One cannot explain the feeing and mix of emotions you ll experience here. Much of the architecture and aesthetic is designed to give you the feeling of a concentration camp. With that comes experience unimaginable horrors. However, there will be moments where it resembles the hallowed memorial it is.
Everyone should visit this place once and actually read and listen to most of the media available during your visit. If you leave here unmoved and unchanged I'd be worried. The intentional and methodical evil perpetrated by the Nazi regime is unbelievable until you realize just how real it is. If you are in DC, you need to make it a point to visit this museum. Plan and spending no less than 4 hrs here if you want to take it all it... 6 to 8 if you really want to go deep.
Going through this museum you wonder what was wrong with humanity. One has read a lot about victimisation, but seeing it through the museum, one just wonders, hote can one section of people hate a community so much
Astounding, deeply moving and a reminder this should never be forgotten. Recommend as remedial training that should be required annually for the political class. Go, immerse yourself in the stories that are unfortunately all too real, and then tell everyone you know to visit.
Unique experience, totally worth seeing. Expect crowds in the exhibition halls
I would recommend it for sure they have tour groups you can walk through on your own and survivors sometime come in to talk about their experience during the Holocaust
Great place to visit, it has a lot of important information that everyone should know. You don't need tickets to visit most of the exhibits, but i suggest getting tickets to visit the main tour exhibition.
Very educational and one of the best museums in the Washington D.C. area! My whole family had a great time and even my sister, who knew nothing about the Holocaust, loved the museum!
Disappointed because really needed tickets to see most of exhibit instead of being able to walk through
Wow! Words can't explain the emotions as you walk through here. The collection of information, history, writings, pictures, videos was amazing.
One of the most invoking and powerful museums I've ever been to. From start to finish you are educated regarding how such an evil man as Hitler made his way to power. And to end it with a Jewish mother talking about she saved her daughter from the concentration camp by finding her new parents. I bawled. Such selflessness. Such heroics from rescuers. You won't regret visiting.
