Usher Hall Review

Very nice venue, great stage and auditorium. Clean toilets.
Very friendly and helpful staff

Great place. Toilets are about 5 years away from the hall.

We were there to see an Eagles tribute band and in the stalls so I've dropped a star for the very uncomfortable seats but otherwise a very nice venue. Good acoustics, not so big as to be miles from the action. Also an easy stroll from either end of the main Edinburgh railway stations.

Always good.dont take your own water even if your like me.disabled or it's raining outside.

Went to watch the Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration. Great stage with great lighting and great sound system. Enjoyable theatre it is

Good accoustics. Seats rather hard, but stage clearly visible from side of stalls.

Easy Access and great acoustics! There will likely be a queue if it is a prominent artist or event but that should be expected in any popular venue. Had a great experience in the standing area.

Good rock venue. Excellent atmosphere especially when seats are removed in the stalls

Beautiful building. Helpful and friendly staff and a good concert to compliment the surroundings. Will be looking for reasons to go there again.

Brilliant venue for music, beautiful hall inside, staff were all pleasant. Seating was comfortable in the stalls.

Had a pleasant experience in my Placebo live performance a few months ago. Polite staff, plenty of space, great sound, and the wardrobe saves you the trouble of worrying about your jacket and/or personal belongings.
Deducting one star, because bags not being allowed, apart from very small handbags, can be an issue. For instance, if you re visiting from another city and lack storage space, you might find having just a small handbag hard or impossible.

The planet's RSNO was incredible.... seats in upper circle were very uncomfortable not nearly enough leg room....

Was great but needed more ushers at front of stage I was front row and could not see for people coming from back . Don't get me wrong I enjoy a good time but if I was to stand in front of them they would have moaned as people behind me wouldn't have seen some consideration for people who can't move ie disabled end of rant

The Usher Hall was an excellent venue it was my first time there and will gladly go back in the near future.

Gorgeous venue. I was there to see Biffy Clyro and the atmosphere was intimate, cosy.
I was in the nosebleeds but still had an excellent view of the stage

We were in upper circle,stairs are very steep,bar staff very nice.

I had a wonderful time, loved the venue, not too big or too small, just right.

A superb concert of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev. A very high standard from the Scottish National Orchestra, as usual, and a lovely birthday ticket from a friend for my recent birthday. The acoustics were good and the guest conductor was excellent. A great night

Really grand venue... staff very helpful however reluctance to provide performers with a microphone during introductions to pieces and seating slightly dated... However all in all a superb night guaranteed.

Splendid theatre experience. Performed there during the Edinburgh international festival.

Saw the RSNO John Williams concert here and it was a great venue!

We go there for concerts in Edinburgh International Festival every August. Good location at the city centre and very friendly staffs.

Hosted Chinese New Year Concert here on 9th Feb 2019. Amazing venue. Every seat in the house is a great seat. Photos are of rehearsals

A spectacular hall which I've visited for different types of concert. Upgraded fairly recently to give it a newish feel, including the entrance. Has both a bar and cafe. Seating in stalls, grand and upper circle - I would warn against the last - fairly tightly packed and steep with less comfy seats.

This is a great Edinburgh venue. If visiting and you get a chance for a concert or other event ....go

World famous concert hall built by whisky merchant Andrew Usher. Huge variety of performances held throughout the year.

I honestly would like to thank the Stuards and the manager for changing our seats at the Kelly Jones concert. I was up at the top and it was too high for me and they kindly got a seat on ground level I felt so much better and at ease. xxxx

I haven't been inside to be honest but loved the architecture and the facade of this building. Really very beautiful and impressive!

Nice venue in a good location, with good seats and good view of the stage. Friendly, helpful staff.

The sound is good, the quality of the people who listen to the concert is very good (do not leave the seat, do not speak, do not eat, drink, or take pictures).

I went to see the Scottish Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Usher Hall was the perfect venue. The music was amazing as well as the acoustics and the building was magnificent on the inside. The staff were also very helpful and provided good tips on things to see in Edinburgh.

My granddaughter and her orchestra played here and it was amazing

Great venue for gigs. Sloping floor at stalls area really helps for viewing when set up for standing gigs. Location good for either station and plenty of food and drink available nearby.

Great venue with friendly staff. I've never seen a theater with removable seating in the stalls area before. The sloped floor means even shorter people get a good view of the stage while standing.

The Twiligjt Sad were on Fire! Very pretty building 3 Stars without the Sad. Mon The Sad!

My favourite venue for gigs/events. Great view wherever you sit

Wheelchair friendly, very friendly staff who helped me get to the disabled area. Access to disabled toilets.
I saw ub40 there an had a fantastic night.

Great venue have had many happy visits here and seen some amazing shows and live music here.

Great acoustics, beautiful building. We attended a Loreena McKennitt, we had side seats on the right wing in the Golden circle, the view was perfect and the sound just amazing. If you want to find something wrong with this place I would say they serve you the wine in plastic cups.

The Usher hall is a great venue for seeing bands. Not too big so you feel close to the action when your in the standing area.

If you go here for a show don't book stall seats. The rake is far too shallow so your view will quite possibly be impaired. The bar and toilets are far too cramped by modern standards. All in all, a poor venue for 2018.

What a treat. Thanks to John Kitchen, Calum Robertson and the Edinburgh university singers who performed a Christmas carol concert today.Starting to feel festive now.

Great venue. We were in the Upper Circle at the very very back and we had a great view plus the sound was still great. The staff were extremely friendly (especially liked the security guard saying goodnight to EVERYONE as they left ). After the concert, it only took a couple of minutes from leaving our seats to being outside the venue. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Seating arrangements were good. During the break, only one canteen was open with a massive queue. Water fountains didn't have any beakers... Toilets were downstairs (not sure if there was an elevator); plenty and clean.
