The United States Adaptive Recreation Center, or Usarc for short, is a non-profit organization that provides adaptive sports and recreational activities to people with disabilities. Founded in 1983, Usarc has been committed to guiding individuals towards the creation and affirmation of rewarding lifestyles.
At Usarc, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of outdoor recreation. Our programs are designed to empower individuals with disabilities by providing them with access to adaptive equipment and trained instructors who can help them participate in a variety of activities such as skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, rock climbing and more.
Our mission is simple: To provide people with disabilities the opportunity to experience outdoor recreation in a safe and supportive environment. We believe that through participation in our programs, individuals can gain confidence, build self-esteem and develop new skills that will help them lead more fulfilling lives.
One of our core values at Usarc is inclusivity. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome regardless of their ability level or background. Our staff members are trained professionals who understand the unique needs of each individual participant and work tirelessly to ensure that they have a positive experience.
We offer a wide range of programs throughout the year including winter sports like skiing and snowboarding as well as summer activities such as kayaking and rock climbing. Our programs are open to people of all ages from children as young as three years old up through adults.
In addition to our regular programming, we also offer special events throughout the year such as our annual ski-a-thon fundraiser which helps us raise money for scholarships so that we can continue providing access to adaptive recreation for those who may not be able afford it otherwise.
At Usarc we understand how important it is for individuals with disabilities have access not only physical activity but also social interaction opportunities outside their homes or care facilities. That's why we've created an inclusive community where participants can connect with others who share similar interests while enjoying fun-filled days outdoors together!
