Upland Brewing Co. Review

Large selection of great brews. Friendly, quick service too.

Went there on a Thursday night with my boyfriend and it took 10 minutes for us to be greeted. Once our server finally got to us we ordered waters to start. He then went to every other one of his other tables and was refilling their drinks, bringing them food, and chatting, and completely forgot about our waters. Once we were waiting for over 5 minutes we decided to move to the bar. Unacceptable having to wait more than 15 minutes for 2 waters. I would ve rated upland 1 star if it wasn t for the bartender, Ashley. She took immediate care of us, our food and beverages came promptly and she was so incredibly sweet. She turned our night around completely compared to how it first started off. Still 3 stars because of the poor service when we first arrived.

We tend to stop by for lunch if we are in the area. Nice atmosphere. It's not very big - I could see it getting pretty crowded during peak times.

Beers are excellent. Food is excellent. Upland Wheat is my favorite, and is quite different "fresh" than what is sold in bottles in the Indianapolis area.

If I could change one thing, I think it would be to expand the restrooms (each of them is only one-at-a-time). :(

Recommend a visit for all beer geeks. And get some to go!

Quite possibly my favorite place in Bloomington. They ve always had great beer, good food, and I love the atmosphere. Don t miss Upland Brewing when in B-town.

Good place to chill, solid beers, food and tunes. Had the pork tenderloin sandwich, nothing fancy just above average. Would go back to try other stuff.

We've been coming to Upland for over four years now. Anytime we are going out to eat literally nine times out of ten we end up here. The food is fantastic and at a great price. And the beer is fantastic. Anytime we have family, friends, etc. come into town we always suggest Upland.

We were in town meeting some friends from Seattle. This brewery was amazing. The staff was friendly, the beer was outstanding and the food was spot on. We are from out of town but would make the trip back to support this local business. Bravo!

Great beer selection and tasty food. Dinner menu is a little limited but everything is delicious, even down to the fries! Enjoyed the Brisket - some parts were a little dry but the rest of it was moist and well seasoned. A good spot for drinks or dinner.

Really great beer, food and staff in a fun atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I are beer enthusiasts, and we love Upland! Not only do they have a wide variety of tasty and unique beers, but their menu is chock-full of delicious and reasonably priced food. Turkey clubs, burgers, that sort of thing. We have yet to find something that isn't delicious.

Overall, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is good, and the food is great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in Bloomington!

P.S. If you're looking to try lots of different types of beer, get a sampler! It gives you 8oz of 7 different beers to try, so it's great if you're looking to explore and try lots of different ones without spending a ton of money on individual drinks. Plus, it's good to share with the table!

Grab a beer, they are all good. Have a bite to eat, it's not bad either.

Service was poor. They forgot our appetizer and the burgers were bland.

Love Upland's atmosphere and the great staff, but especially love their patio and their seasonal apple cobbler.

Food's always good here. Burgers at the right temp, and a relatively ok menu for kids. Cheesecake is always great, if you have space for it!

Upland is a misnomer. The dark, dark pit in which they do their brewing in brimming with cunning masses of fermenting substances not to this world. Tread lightly if you ever see a green light in the woods for you are approaching the Upland Brewery Brewing pit.

Wonderful local made beer and food. A step above your typical pub & grub. Service is always very friendly and fast. The beer selection is wonderful, as you would expect. The Italian beef is good but certainly not the Chicago style Italian Beef I was hoping for. The shredded pork tacos were exquisite. The kids enjoyed their mac & cheese and fish & chips. The desserts were also amazing, especially the Apple strudel served on sizzling cast iron.

Decent food and drink selections. Loved the neighboring brewery; however, the restaurant exhibited poor service. Jake, specifically, was an inefficient server.

Always enjoy the food here and of course the beers are excellent. Wait can be pretty long if you go during popular times.

Fun local spot w delish food and beautiful atmosphere

Unbelievably loud and bad music in the bear garden. The staff turned it down on our request but the volume crept back up again repeatedly. The manager tried to defend the music. Apparently, the staff got to pick it and apparently our suggestion of jazz was classified as 'elevator music'. Very juvenile and very bad for business.

I enjoyed everything about this brewery! Super awesome and friendly staff. Thank you!

Service was great. The Cuban could use more mojo sauce but it was good none the less. Fish and chips were great.

Really nice atmosphere, large open floor plan but surprisingly quiet overall. Food was excellent, had the Cuban and Ruben sandwiches - plenty big that we should have ordered one and split it.

Beer was good, but not great, solid offerings but no standouts. Really great flight though, as for under $10 you can get seven 6oz. pours; five fixed standard selections and two of five seasonal brews that you pick.

Great outdoor space to sit and have a beer by the fire.

Quick service, great atmosphere, great beer and delicious food! Their french fries are so good! I ordered the falafel. The pita bread was perfectly soft and the falafel was crispy. So many vegetarian options!

Loved their outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Their dragonfly never disappoints.

Epic pub grub. Coworkers finished 2 pichers between the three of them and they all said it was great. Food never misses for lunch or dinner this is a must hit if traveling to or through Bloomington. The Mac and cheese was amazing tonight, I was only sad because it used to be paired with a sausage that was amazing. Mmm Mac and cheese.

In addition to fantastic beers of many different styles, Upland's brewpub menu has many excellent vegetarian options. The fried tofu that is used for (or can be added to) several different dishes is excellent.

We came to try out the food--the atmosphere was great, and the servers were friendly. Unfortunately, the food was just not up to par. It was inedibly bland, we ended up taking most of the meal home and didn't end up eating the leftovers. It was really disappointing, especially considering the reviews are mostly great.

I used to love this place, but it was taken over by Mike Pence's cheif donor. I don't want to support fascisn, so I don't go there anymore. Pity, 'cause they had great beer.

Classic hoppy IPA, rich brown porter, locally sourced food. The American version of an excellent pub.

Great place to hangout with your friends and enjoy some great beer and food. One of the best black bean burgers in Bloomington. I recommend you give Upland a try.

Of the times I've gone to Upland it's always been on a weekend evening. Which means there's a lot of people. However, no matter how packed it is, I seem to always have a great time and an excellent meal. Their burgers are great, the macaroni is delicious, and the fish and french fries are great.

The service was quick and friendly as well. Definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a fun and somewhat loud (at least on the weekends) atmosphere.
