DANGER!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I'm ashamed that I gave it even one star. My opinion is the ownner/manager is dishonest. I purchased a 34 inch Asus monitor. My client was unhappy with the crispness or sharpness on the images. The USB drives on the side of the monitor would not allow the CPU to recognize or acknowledge USB devices when connected So I called ahead to let U.S. know That I was returning the monitor. Dave the manager, came up with a policy that i have NEVER heard of. Unless you have ALL "original pachaging" it was Not Returnable and was unable to provide me with a refund. In the 3 years I have doing business with this company, I have never heard of this policy, and I have returned defective equipment WITHOUT the original packing material.
I offered to pay for packaging the would ensure safety when shipped back to manufacturer.

I went there the very next day with the original box and monitor only, and set it on the counter and walked away. As I said at the beginning,DO NOT BUY FROM UNIVERSAL SYSTEMS, as you will never what new "policies" might pop up.

One of the few places left in SLC for hardware and DIY as well as IT departments looking for "that one odd cable or connector" and can't wait for CDW or amazon to ship it. I love this place. They always have whatever I need, and the techs enjoy the problem solving of getting a round peg to fit in a square whole because your company doesn't "have it in the budget" to order a vendor solution, and you can't wait until next quarter to get your tech communicating again.

These guys have been great to work with. I ve ordered from them a few times and they have always come through. They are always very nice and super courteous. The equipment has always been solid and I ve never had any issues. I just with they had another location in Utah County!

Not sure where all these other reviews are coming from but I have had great experiences with USI for many years and they were able to help us again today with an urgent need!

Very professional place to get your business computer needs sorted out. They put together a excellent new server super quick plus they came through in a pinch on some other parts needs I had.

The key to understanding Universal Systems is to understand that their primary business interest is in serving enterprise and managed services (i.e. your local IT guy). That is where they excel, and they provide desktop and server systems for these types of clients, who in turn serve small and medium-sized businesses - or in-house IT departments for larger corporations. The emphasis is on assembling HARDWARE, and basic configuration of the OS and other software that is amenable to being imaged on multiple devices.

That being said, they do have a storefront that anybody can walk into, and if you want a custom built home computer, they can do anything you want. They are not the low-price leader (they don't have to be), but the prices are reasonable and the service is second-to-none. Let me just say, however, that if you expect the royal treatment because your business-critical machine has failed (shame on you for having a single point of failure in the operation of your business), you must understand that that is a common scenario, and they must rigidly stick to a first-in-first-out service queue. Nothing unfair about that.

You can also buy just about any computer-related cable you need (for AV stuff you should go to Performance Audio), as well as any of the components they use for computer builds (CPUs, motherboards, graphics cards, hard drives, SSDs, power supplies, cases, displays, etc...) but again, the selection is not comprehensive - it is primarily geared towards hardware that they frequently build for their larger clients. Also, small business-grade networking equipment is available.

Keep in mind, this is accurate only as of mid-2014, when I left the company. I can say that they are honest in everything they do, they always try to make things right when a customer is unsatisfied, but like any decent human beings, they have their limits as to what kind of nonsense they will tolerate from unreasonable customers. All that being said, if you are looking for a place to have a long-term relationship for your computer hardware needs, there really is no better place in the state than USI. Where other companies are obsessed with growth at the fastest pace possible - at any cost - Universal Systems puts customer service first and will continue to be around for a long time as a result.

If you are looking for a good machine, these guys are it, very knowledgeable, they will build you what you want.

Universal Systems helps fulfill Llenovo warranty claims and they did not disappoint! I had lots of trouble with the Llenovo client support online but USI made it ultra fast, clear and easy. They had my parts within a few days and my laptop was fixed within a few hours. Highly recommend.

I love going to these guys for all my business computer needs. They work with you on a very personal level and the get to know you. Very knowledgeable staff.

I have been using these guys for my support for more than 20 years. I have always been more than satisfied. Reasonable turnaround, great prices and great products. I have both bought computers from them and had them service computers I have bought elsewhere and they have done a wonderful job in all cases.

My family has used Universal Systems for years, and the machines they build are always top quality. The staff there is very helpful, and really quite knowledgeable.

Went in and had a cable I couldn't find, sata to usb . Young woman who helped me was wonderful and the older gentleman was very helpful. Im considering them to set up my offices. Entrance for products is to the side of the building.

They have good product lines, but aren't the friendliest bunch I have ran into. I know that with techies, they tend to be dry and suh, but I would have liked at least a little effort form them. All in all it's a good stop, as long as you are looking for peformance with no ustomer service.

I have been here several times over the last few months for parts and services and they have been great to work with. They are very knowledgeable on basically any computer system you may have questions on along with having components in stock that most shops in town do not. They are fair priced and have quick turn around time for installations if you don't want to do the job yourself.

We have bought several computers from these guys since 2013. I have had 2 of them fail in the last 3 weeks. Totally expecting them to be under warranty or get some kind of help since 2 have failed out of the 12 Dells we've had for years.
Nothing. I'll go back to ordering from Dell

Universal System and has always taken care of my computer needs, business and personal. Very knowledgeable and professional. High quality equipment and still have good old fashion customer service. I appreciate all of them for the way they take care of us and our needs promptly.
