When I visited UT I had a fantastic time! The campus is very beautiful, the students are nice, and the campus in general has so much to offer! If you for some reason go to Austin I would recommend stopping by!

Sounds like AnnMarie Rotan is living the same experience with administrators I had in the J school in the late 1970s. I'd give five stars for academics, resources, opportunities and professors, but I have to knock off a star for administration. Earn a degree from UT-Austin and you can hold your own with graduates of more prestigious (read private and elite) universities in your career and probably on the cocktail circuit. UT grads gain more street smarts and have a better sense of humor. Have to, because we had to navigate counselors, advisors and that whole maze as one of the herd. I would say we're more humble, but the irony would be lost on anyone outside Texas.

I am fascinated in the work being done at the University in relation to the earth's magnetic field. While I am not a scientist - I have discovered that every species of tree is designed to respond to specific properties that exist within the earth's magnetic field. Clearly this is in place to prevent any one species dominating the plant kingdom. I have planted over a million trees in the development of concepts and technology that enables trees to be grown where no one would believe it possible. Even planted in >40 degreeC temperatures, the trees thrive and are NEVER watered, even in this semi-arid region of Australia. The implications are amazing - 70% of the the planet is arid or semi-arid. If scientific accreditation of my findings can be established - we can plant trees under the most incredibly challenging conditions to address climate change. Nobody has a monopoly on intellect, and often it is the chance discovery by a lay person of something monumental that has the most benefit for the world.
