Super incredible enclosed space with sounds of water and birds. Incredible plants and green space. It s like being at Disney World.

Beautiful sights. A lot of pretty flowers and garden to see
One of my favorite places! The gardens are beautifully curated and maintained. Because it is both a lovely place to visit and the admission is free, it can be crowded during premium sight seeing times, but that's anywhere in DC, really.
My only complaint is how early it closes, because shutting down by 5pm means that it's not really possible to swing by after work. But again, for an admission price of zero dollars, no wonder they can't afford to stay open too late.
Very varied And some impressive replicas of the National Mall
The best kept secret in the District. The botanic gardens are an immaculate haven. Completely free and really enjoyable for any age.
I'm not knowledgeable about plants so I enjoyed the garden as an average person might. There were interesting plants to see, the greenhouse was interesting, but overall, as a non-plant enthusiast, I was a little bored.
Amazing FREE spot to hide away from the city. The humid air is so aromatic it feels as if you've literally stepped into a different world.
A very nice place with an immense variety of plants and flowers.
I loved this Boitancial Gardens, it was like being in Paradise.
The Orchids are Fabulous!
This is a fantastic place it visit.
In the middle of an incredible city with dozens of great places to go, the Botanical Gardens is certainly worth your time. With multiple different climates, moisture controlled, and multiple levels there is a ton to see. Everything is just out of reach, too; you pass through low hanging leaves just walking around.
If you like extremely diverse assortments of plants from around the world, this is the spot for you. Like everything around it, there's no admission fee.
There are many people, but the plants are very rich, especially the tropical plants are very natural.
Beautiful garden but we quickly made the tour. We expected something grander.
Beautiful area that not enough people visit. Be sure to use the audio tour, available via your phone.
What a great place! I came to see the corpse flower and it was impressive. I highly recommend you take their docent tour (it's free and about 45 min) to see things you may not otherwise notice. Well worth the visit!
I was fortunate enough to have worked just a 15-20 min walk away from this beautiful place. I would often go during lunch break during the week way less crowded. It never got old, ever. Such a great escape from the busy hustle and bustle of the city.
I always love going to botanic gardens and have from a child find one wherever I am. It is relaxing, beautiful and awesome escape. I cannot speak enough for the experience. Love that the gardens are more extensive now.
Had a fun visit here and learned a lot. It's a great break from the business of the mall and I really enjoyed all the informational placards along with the beauty of all the plants.
It was lovely but very, very hot and humid. I would recommend visiting in cooler weather.
The botanical garden is beautiful. However, the prices for food and drinks are extremely overpriced. An apple was $ 2.50!
Great place to see different flowers from all places around the world
A quiet place to go on the busy mall. They have a kids area in one open courtyard with a small play fort (best suited to kids 2 to 8 for size consideration), planters where kids can dig and water around real plants, a mist machine (which helps on very hot summer days), and seating around the edges in mostly shade for parents. Of course the canopy walk is also a plus for kids- elevator access is available to reach the higher tier for handicap individuals.
Beautiful and stunning! Love the seasonal displays and the education on all things botany.
Amazing plants in an amazing building. Really really beautiful.
Very beautiful and has lots of different plants from all over the world.
Amazing place. Did a tour with Harvey who is so knowledgeable and really helped us learn about the different plants, their history, and uses!
Beautiful botanic gardens. Lovely arrangement of plants from all over the US. Free.
What's not to love! This a great museum with some fantastic activities and interactive exhibits for kids. This is my favorite place on the National Mall.
Went here for a school trip and didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It went above my expectations and it was great going around the rooms and seeing so many different kinds of plants. This is also a kid friendly attraction and I saw so many enjoying their time in there. The line can get pretty.
I thoroughly enjoyed the layout of the garden and outside there was a live band performing. It was worth the visit
Kids had a great time walking through the garden and seeing all the unique plants that do not grow near home.
Also, it's a great place to get relief from the freezing outdoor weather.
Finally, like all museums in the area, it was free to enter.
Worth the visit, Take time to read and look for detail.
The variety of plant life, the catwalk around the green house and simply put the atmosphere! Kids love it and it really gets me pumped to live in such an amazing world.
This was one of the coolest locations in DC in my opinion. You will love the exotic plants all from different ecosystems across the world. Truly beautiful location and recommend to anyone in the area.
The place is well designed and the staff has paid attention to every detail, here you can find plants, bush, cactus from very distant places ariund the worls. This is a great oportunity the Garden provides for people who are interested to know, enjoy, take pictures all in one place. So, get your shoes ready to hit the road!
Beautiful. Visited with my wife and son. Not too crowded. Great array of things to see both indoor and out. And its FREE!
Massive variety and natural beauty lies within the United States Botanic Garden! Upon entering, you're greeted by a fantastic assortment of flowers, plants, trees, and decorations that will visually amaze all. I visited during Orchid Festival and my word was the variety and display of these beautiful plants beyond fantastic (see pictures for a couple of photographs showing what they have). The place is organized well, most will be able to walk through it at a slow pace within an hour. Overall, I loved the Botanic Garden and I consider it to be a must-visit within DC.
Always a pleasure and very interesting ,over the years watching the development of the garden outside.
Very interesting. The kids area had a few misfires though. There wasn t much for the kids. I think part of it was closed for maintenance.
Lovely botanical gardens. Beautiful plants and flowers.
Beautiful display of plants for all to experience. A leisurely stroll through the gardens. Free to the public.
Very pretty. Dress for the heat though, it's toasty! Great place to bring kids or visitors
Love coming here plus now, there are beautiful flowers and exotic plants, i wnjoy coming here, you can even smell the diference, fresh air, its even more beautiful come christmas.
When we went, it was a bit crowded, but an incredible collection!
Be aware. Not really wheelchair friendly. Elevator has been down forever.
Some unusual plants to view. Just like the other places on The Mall, it's free.
I have visited here several times. It s always nice to come here and to see all of gods creations nearly all in one place. They have done a fantastic job of creating climates and environments where plants from all parts of the world can thrive. It s truly a fascinating experience to visit here some of the other Smithsonian museums are more popular than this one. If you want a break from the fast paced crammed packed for Smithsonian s come here it s relaxing and I am certain you will enjoy it.
Very interesting exhibit, even if you don t have a green thumb. The efficient layout and cleanliness allows for a casual stroll while admiring the wide assortment of plants.
Amazing, beautiful, wonder-filled -so much more than I even expected!!!
One of the worst botanic gardens visited anywhere in the world. Poorly maintained. Not at all inspiring.
A great respite in the city. They we're getting ready for the orchid show...really impressive prevew.
Easily my favorite place in DC... And in fact if any city I've visited. If you want a moment of pace, where you feel as though you've stepped out of time for a moment, this is the place.
Always something to see here. Great way to escape the DC tourist crowds although it is becoming discovered.
Absolutely loved this place! It was so well designed and the amount of different plants they have is astounding! We were so glad we made the decision to come here! Truly amazing to see all the different plants from around the world!
If you have time it's worth a visit. Plants of all kinds, very well arranged
So beautiful and reminded me of my old greenhouses at home. Loved it so much the plants are beautiful and the different habitats are so cool.
A very good experience. Love the greenery in it. Make you want to move to tropical or make a nice green house. It was very refreshing.
