Where would our world be if this wasn't here? Too bad I came on a day when there were no tours, but they had some great displays in the lobby, and a children's choir even had a planned performance for visitors, so I guess they must stay pretty culturally engaged with the community. Security is tight enough, but it's free to go in so yay UN.

There are a lot of thinking decisions going on around the world .. Alienated attitude to Israel

The United Nations (UN), or simply the United Nations (NN.), Is the largest existing international organization. It is defined as a global government association that facilitates cooperation on issues such as international law, international peace and security, economic and social development, humanitarian affairs and human rights.
The UN was founded on October 24, 1945 [note 1] in the US city of San Francisco, by 51 countries, at the end of the Second World War, with the signing of the Charter of the United Nations. [1]
From its headquarters in New York, the Member States of the United Nations and other related agencies deliberate and decide on significant and administrative issues in periodic meetings held during the year. The UN is structured in various bodies, of which the main ones are: General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council, General Secretariat, Trusteeship Council and the International Court of Justice. The European headquarters (and second world headquarters) of the United Nations Organization is located in Geneva, Switzerland.

As of 2017, the UN has 193 member states: all sovereign countries recognized internationally, plus three members as observers - the Vatican City State, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and the State of Palestine. Other de facto independent states such as the Republic of China or Kosovono are members, as they are considered disputed territories.
The official languages of the UN are six: Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, French, English and Russian.

We were there on a very quiet day.
In other words, no flag was raised in front of the building, the only thing that was going on was the strings that had just repainted.

It was great experience !! It was really good ~~~ I think it would be good to go to New York for a trip to New York. I bought a postcard from the basement and sent it to Korea. I arrived at home about two weeks later.

On weekends and Sundays, we do not enter the headquarters building, but will be in the building where an entrance hall can be displayed and in its souvenir shop.

Great exhibits and the gift shop had items from every country

A place to visit, food in it's Riverview cafeteria is not expensive

One of the best tours in NYC. Iconic building and amazing items on display including relics from the Heroshima bombing. Keep an eye on the State gifts scattered around the pathways and look for yiur country's gift.
I took away a star due to the attitude of the security guard at the exits. Way too rude to be stationed at a touristic attraction.

I have not visited the museum which traces the history of the United Nations.
I did not find much interest in it.

Great day out and tour guide very informative. Would recommend a visit. Make sure you get ticket/sticker/pass from across the road before queuing!!!

UN doesn't accept Taiwan passport.
Taiwan is not part of China but an independent country.

When I go to New York, it is the place to visit once. In order to get inside, there is a passport check at UNU ahead of the road before the United Nations Building. After that, at the entrance next to this headquarters building, there is a security check and a baggage inspection. The security of the airport is intact. In the basement of the building there are UN original goods, souvenir shops, eating places (like restaurants, not catering). By the way, although it is possible to book the United Nations tour online in advance (the language of online reservation is only the official language of the United Nations) it is also possible to go to the site and book the tour at the desk. (Depending on the availability at that time, tours are held frequently frequently)

Really fascinating building, and even as someone who is interested in global geopolitics, I learned a couple interesting things about the history of the UN and its current goals from the tour, which is absolutely worth the price. Also, going in and seeing on its own is free!

I'm always in awe of this place. I can't wait to go back.

An interesting experience as you will likely be in a tour with 5 or 6 different countries.

They take you to the General Assembly, Security Council and economic council rooms. The guide explains various priorities of the UN. You can ask questions, but expect a diplomatic answer.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER DUE TO EMPLOYEES. They are not specialized and systematic. I thought you were visiting your ward office. I had a problem with a simple online ticketing and I spent an hour. From the entrance, you can easily solve the problem by knowing the simple information of the person in charge, but it is not disappointing that you are not in charge of each other and pushing the other person in charge and punching the guest.

An educational tour of a place where decisions are made around the world.

A really nice building. I've been here on a school trip and remember it as one of our best sights in New York City.

Such an interesting place... after visiting I'm so much more curious now that ever and all the World impacts they have started and continue to invest in.

Great place, one of the main attractions of New York, someone wrote here that it was closed at the weekend - not at all, it was here on Sunday and more than that - the entrance was absolutely free (on weekdays it costs $ 20). The assembly itself at the weekend, of course, does not work, which does not mean that it is closed for tours. The only thing is that you need to go through the authentication procedure (you need passports) in the building opposite and get a pass. Also control point at the entrance. The rest is a square with famous sculptures, a spacious hall, an exhibition center, a museum and souvenir shops in the basement. A particularly strong place is the room for meditations, in which there were all the powerful people - presidents, prime ministers of different countries and in general, many prominent personalities. It is a pity that the assembly did not have flags on flagpoles.

Kewl place,the tour is very informative but sometimes doesn't cover all areas. It also moves very fast so you don't get to read everything but they do give you time to take photos.sign up to be a petitioner!

I've seen it on TV! I was moved by the feeling. There was also a Japanese tour so I could deepen my understanding.

Really interesting place to visit. Make sure you book ahead as you can't just turn up and go on a tour. The tour was well done, however limiting in what you could see.The information presented was great but not incredibly detailed.

Under the New Continental United Congress after our revolution this building and this fraudulent organization will no longer be apart of this country we pay more money than the next 15 countries who are our supposed Allies last year in 2018 we paid 712 million dollars and Germany and England only paid together 23 million dollars so the organization will no longer ask us for OUR MONEY. You are done here we will begin protesting this building this organization and we will not give up until this building is gone. Also they talk about taking away our guns that is our right as Americans so go ahead and send your Smurfs buddy you better have enough to take on 310 million gun owners.
