The WORST!!!! I AM A RN, my dad is a RN this place treated my grandpa like an animal. When I called to talk to someone, I couldn't, just transfers and nobody answered the phone. My grandpa was transferred to St Joe's during the night, nobody contacted my dad, who is the emergency contact. My Granddpa had multiple PE's. I, at the beginning of my career worked at several rehab/let's just say it "nursing homes". This is the WORST! Disappointed and sad. I am a case manager, I swear, I will NEVER refer anyone here. Maybe, since you can't answer a phonecall, you will see this.

I worked here for a total of 5 month's, and I would not recommend anyone who's looking into being a CNA to work for this facility. Even though the job is rewarding because you get to work with the resident's. The management is beyond TERRIBLE! They don't care about the resident's, let alone their own employee's. Not to mention, everyone quit's because they can't stand being left to take care of 15-20 resident's alone if not more. The nurse's don't help at all, and they are supposed to be in charge of everything- that mean's helping a resident if we are busy assisting. Not that all the employee's are all like this. There are a select few that really care about their job and the resident's they are caring for.

There was never a time where I didn't have family member's complain about the poor care received by other staff. Especially, the management not taking any action to fix a problem. A fall would occur everyday on either shift due to the lack of staff- under the STATE requirement. There were two resident's who died from sustained injuries from falling. These "accident's" were swept under the rug, and no one was held accountable- not even management. The worst of all is seeing how miserable some of these resident's are, and learning about how they are treated... It really broke my heart. I ended up quitting because of my experience. I hope people think twice before sending their loved one in this facility. They lie about their service's, and the quality of care is non-existent. This place only cares about their " image" and their money.

PLEASE... Do not work here! You'll regret it, or the company will try to find anything they can to use against you to fire you. As for anyone looking into this place as a home for a family member- look elsewhere. Don't waste your money. Go some place where you know they are going to be safe and cared for properly.

Former employee. Understaffed. CNA s overworked. Nurses overworked. No clear direction from management. Employee union contracts continually violated. CNA to patient ratio routinely 1 to 15. UMRC hires for jobs with no clear identification of Job duties. Extremely poorly run facility. I was mandated as a nurse supervisor to work the floor as a CNA. Clear violation of law. Poor state inspection.

My recently deceased Aunt was a resident for five years. She and all her family agreed that moving there was a beneficial and rewarding experience for her. Solicitous staff, congenial residents, varied activities all added to the quality of her days.
The presence of some residents, their aides and the Chaplain at her funeral was a testimony to the spirit fostered at Chelsea. My Aunt's family thank all who helped make her last years and her Rite of Departure joyful and memorable ...as she wished.

I have had the opportunity to visit several retirement and assisted living homes over the years with various family members and I have to say this is hands down the best facility. My Grandma has been in memory care for several years now and the staff has helped put our family at ease. The staff is very able, willing and above all they truly love their jobs. Staff who enjoy seniors and make the effort to ensure that their residents have an enriched life. They take field trips together, have performers come in to do concerts, and make sure that family is always welcome. Truly blessing of a facility.

Do not work here they screw over all there employee they only care about the money. That's why they are always hiring and can't keep people. Management is no where to be found unless like this week states in there and they all act like they work. So if your thinking about a job don't do it they will make you miserable
How do you make all your employees work most holidays but on a day to day basis your under staff. Thanks for ruining my life with my family life by have no good leadership or sense of direction. All they care about is there image not there employees or the residents.

I left CRC on good terms and can't really speak bad of the facility from my personal experience. On the other hand, my fiance left on good terms as well and was told he was welcome to come back anytime. They even offered to pay him more to stay. Eventually, he decided he wanted to come back so he applied for the same position he worked for previously. He was then contacted by HR and was told not to contact anyone from CRC with no explanation as to why. He was baffled and hurt because AGAIN he left on good terms, did so much for the facility and he did absolutely nothing wrong to be told that. Even the staff wanted him to come back. It didn't make sense because I thought they were about boosting the morale of the employees and that was a chance to help, but instead they did the complete opposite. So for that reason I have given CRC 4 stars. Nine times out of ten the employees are there for the residents and not just for a paycheck. The front line staff are wonderful with the residents and always interacting. Life enrichment always has fun activities for the residents and made sure everyone was involved if they wanted to be. Like any job or career it is what you make of it and I can honestly say if it wasn't for CRC I would not be where I am at in my personal life and also in my professional life. Just disappointed with them with what they did to my fiance.

My Mom moved into CRC in October 2016 and she LOVES it! It's amazing how kind the entire staff is and always eager to help her learn the ropes. The residents are all very friendly and happy which makes me believe they enjoy living there, as well. The food at both restaurants is extremely high quality and the MANY monthly activities provide something for everyone to enjoy. The onsite beauty parlor was what sold my Mom, though! The onsite theater is also very cool. Having Mom at CRC gives our entire family piece of mind that she is happy, safe and well taken care of.

About United Methodist Retirement Communities

United Methodist Retirement Communities: Celebrating the Lives of Seniors with Brio Living Services

As we age, our needs change. We may require more assistance with daily tasks, or we may simply want to live in a community that understands and supports us. That's where United Methodist Retirement Communities (UMRC) comes in. With their Brio Living Services, UMRC is dedicated to celebrating the lives of seniors by providing exceptional care and fostering a sense of community.

At UMRC, they believe that every senior deserves to live life to the fullest. That's why they offer a range of living options designed to meet each individual's unique needs and preferences. Whether you're looking for independent living, assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing care, UMRC has you covered.

One thing that sets UMRC apart from other retirement communities is their commitment to person-centered care. This means that they focus on each resident as an individual with unique needs and desires rather than treating everyone the same way. They take the time to get to know each resident personally so that they can provide personalized care tailored specifically for them.

Another key aspect of UMRC's approach is their emphasis on creating a sense of community among residents. They understand that social connections are essential for overall well-being and happiness in later life. That's why they offer a variety of activities and events designed to bring residents together and foster friendships.

But it's not just about fun and games at UMRC – although there are plenty of those too! They also prioritize health and wellness through programs like fitness classes, nutrition education, medication management support, and more.

Of course, all this talk about exceptional care would be meaningless without qualified staff members who truly care about their work – but fortunately for residents at UMRC communities across Michigan (and beyond), this is exactly what you'll find! From nurses to caregivers to administrative staff members alike – everyone at UMRC shares a passion for serving seniors with compassion and excellence.

So if you're looking for a retirement community where your loved one will receive top-notch care while enjoying an active lifestyle surrounded by friendly faces – look no further than United Methodist Retirement Communities' Brio Living Services!
