Very good food. Fabulous service. Beautiful historic building.
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. And in an excellently centralized location in Chicago.
Wonderful Club! We had a family outing here to celebrate a PHD graduation! The facility and cuisine were impeccable!
Went to the Armed Forces Ball. Beautiful place, well decorated.
A colleague and I got squeezed into the union league of Chicago at a late date. The rooms are nice though small. The in house bar and restaurant adhere to a dress code but don't display what the dress code is.
Luxurious vintage decor with great food and drinks! Feels privi!!
Went here with a colleague who is a member. I would definitely join if I lived in Chicago the place has everything under one roof... And great coffee
A very clean and respectable place to have a drink, meet a friend/ colleague, work, study, use the gym, etc. Having a membership, your choices are endless here at the ULC. They provide a great venue for conferences, weddings and much more.
Food was part. Valet parking left much to be desired. Could not find my car for 1/2 hour than they lost the paid card, asking me to pay the $38 again. Cool old place just not worth the hassle, maybe next time I'll park in the garage next door.
A spectacular place, careful attention and very careful details
Very good value, if you know a member! Clean comfortable rooms, very nice service and staff. Good gym/athletic facilities on top floor, and location is really great.
Had breakfast in the Wigwam. Beautiful dining room. Delicious food.
A great institution that fosters national level conversations and does a fantastic job supporting military and veterans organizations.
I've only been to the Union Club for four years of the French American Chamber of Commerce party - Passport to France. The last time I actually used the stairs to walk up and had a chance to briefly see every floor. The building is exquisite inside and out. British architectural details, paintings on the wall, the color scheme, all of it adds up to a unique island of old time grandeur. Even if you don't have an event, simply walk the floors and enjoy the beauty.
Very good club accommodation. Very nice staff, good rooms.
Thoroughly enjoyed today's First Friday Club luncheon. Very nice facility, service and food.
We got a nice room at a good price at this beautiful club, but I wouldn't go back because of the white elitist vibe. While I did not have any issues with their dress code, I saw others who did (e.g. another attendee of the same work event for which this was the official hotel was thrown out of the breakfast room for not being dressed up enough) and I did not like the way they keep pushing it in your face. It made me feel uncomfortable and underdressed the entire time I was there, even though I was dressed in nice business casual attire the entire time.
Stunningly beautiful in an old world way. If you get the chance to visit, don't pass up the opportunity. We sampled lamb, salmon, and beef from their menu. Although we didn't stay at the hotel, we intend to in the near future.
I'm biased. I celebrated my parents 45th anniversary and passing the Illinois Bar Exam here. Its a members only place and I am not a member. It was good food and the cookies were excellent.
Excellent food and 1st class service. Amazing art collection.
Was here for a conference. Had nice selection of breakfast items.
We had our daughter's wedding ceremony and reception at the ULCC. If I could choose 10 stars I would. From our first contact by email to loading our car to leave at the end of the weekend--every member of the ULCC staff showed professionalism, courtesy and went above and beyond for us.
One example of the level of courtesy happened this morning when I came down to the first floor cafe. An employee was vacuuming and noticed I was perplexed. I asked when the cafe would be open and he responded that it wasnt open on Sundays.
Immediately asked me how he could help.
I responded that I wanted a diet coke and he offered to go down a floor to a soda machine and get me one.
Now, nowhere else in the universe does that happen. Just at the ULCC.
I only wish I could remember his name to thank him again.
Our contact Ken returned emails promptly, answered questions fully and volunteered his help at every turn. He is polite, professional and knowledgeable. Generous attitude throughout--from the planning process until the end of the dinner at the reception. His experience is invaluable. Recommendations for vendors were spot on.
Brianna provided our hotel room reservations . Emails answered promptly. All questions answered fully. Friendly and knowledgeable.
The reservation process for our family and our guests was easy-peasy thanks to Brianna.
Beyond the employees there is THE ULCC.
Entryway is inviting and beautiful. Old school charm.
Wood, stone, brass, painting, sculptures.
Everywhere you look there is history and a calming ambiance. We felt immediately at home.
Ceremony, cocktail and reception rooms were all more amazing than the last. Fireplaces and vaulted ceilings and gorgeous, rich Christmas decorations. A warm, welcoming feel.
Details throughout--an express elevator for our guests to get from the cocktail area to the reception--extra accessories for the ladies room--always someone available to answer a question or offer to help.
The food at cocktail hour and the reception were top notch. Delicious.
Menu cards on each plate. Staff continuously available to help.
Raves from family and friends.
Hotel rooms are newly remodeled and beautiful. Understated elegance.
From start to finish our experience at ULCC was exceptional.
We highly recommend having a wedding or any event at ULCC.
Really beautiful place. And the service was amazing
Absolutely a hidden gem. Narrow but massive art collection is a secret to most of the city.
Like stepping back in time - been to a conference here and it is old world charm! Don't try and go anywhere within the building with your overcoat on though - they must be cloaked and they are quite precious about this rule!
Fancy event venue for high end functions. You could literally live in their restrooms! Clean and well maintained. Food served was delicious too.
Very exquisite place, if I may say so. Went here for an Econ Illinois dinner event and it was a great place to have it. Very elegant setting and well decorated rooms.
Very friendly professional staff and doormen who will find you a cab when there are absolutely none to be found!!!
Great new coffee shop on ground floor. Really well done. Classic and contemporary.
Really awesome place for events and more. We had over 10 meetings and 20+ events last year and was super happy. Today they delivered again, love this place
Lunch time author talk. Excellent space and everyone was extremely helpful.
Great place to workout, have a cocktail, and have meetings.
An awesome private club. Wonderful atmosphere, service and food. The staff is fantastic. The beautiful building is historic and full of important works of art.
If I could afford it I'd be a member, I enjoy being a guest here the food and the hospitality are excellent. Very professional secure and high-end place. Nice club
Great location in the loop, providing excellent amenities.
Love going here for events. It's in a historic building with beautiful artwork and nice amenities. Food, drink, and service are impeccable.
Great club. First rate dining. Excellent athletic facilities. Significant civic engagement. Excellent place for business entertainment and networking.
Privte club in Chicago. Old school charm with well made cocktails, great pub food, and attentive staff.
Best private club in the city. Focus on community and social activism. Excellent service. Full gym. Nice locker rooms. Full size unheated pool.
I was here for an event put on up on their smoking lounge. Phenomenal. Outside in October in the city, sitting on a couch next to a large fire having cigars with friends! Their selection of cigars is nice. The staff is very attentive. Wonderful.
Had a great location for the grand tasting event they held. Everything was clean and beautiful
Historic building, phenomenal artwork, beautiful library. A wonderful experience!
Excellent lobster dinner with a very nice selection of wines.
a beautiful place for an event. and the staff is very accommodating. the food is delicious
An overlooked gem of an art museum! My wife and I recently spent two nights at the ULCC for a wedding, which included a reception in the great room on Friday evening. While room was pleasant and well appointed, and the staff professional, what was a complete surprise was the art hanging from the walls throughout the great room. Composed of landscapes and portraits from the 18pps and early 1900s, with multiple artists represented, you could spend quite some time enjoying the special bonus.
