I went here for my big sister graduation day and when i finally get to see the place i was amazed by the looks and how modern and also how big it is and was hoping to find a university like this after i finish form 6.But when i started looking around and comparing public Universities on google nothing can compare unimas for their awesome facilities and plus i prefer to study in the city and Kuching is up to my standard of what should a city should provide for a uni student and other University such as uum is even tho is rank higher but is located in a remote palm oil plantation area and i don't really like to study in an remote area let alone without all the necessity of what University life should offer and doesn't got what it's take to make that University atmosphere nostalgia feel to it.Long story short i will mark unimas as my first choice of public universities to study my degree.I WILL SEE YOU SOON AS AN JUNIOR

We brought a relative who completed her final paper back to campus around 9.30pm. The road signs arent visible and required more street lightings. If u have budget for campus police, please do so and ensure they are patroling.

This is by far the best Malaysian university that I have ever visited. There are literally everything in the campus. Every infrastructures and facilities can be found the campus itself. Besides, there are variety of types of accommodation provided for the students such as Japanese-style apartment, low-cost apartment and hotel-like apartment.

My sister is studying at this University. We are from Indonesia. So far I like the facilities in supporting lectures. In addition campus and lake campus become an alternative for students to relax, the roads edge of the lake or jogging.

So far, I've spent 1 year in Sarawak , in this University, I would say (based on my visits to other public Universities in Malaysia) this University has a great facilities and infrastructure, as well as great Academic studying plan. I'm studying Software Engineering here. The life on campus is rich with everything you need as student. 24/7 market, restaurants, bookstore, sports facilities, swimming pool, playgrounds, ATMs, and others I couldn't remember at this time. One of the best thing is that the life outside is very near, a lot of places nearby such as supermarkets, shops, restaurants, mall and Residential areas (this is one of the great features). Other public universities mostly located in a very remote area in which you need to drive around 15 - 30 minutes to reach there, and obviously you can NOT walk to. ( Unlike this one, easy access, walk easily). I stayed 6 months on campus , it was a great experience. Then I moved outside to (Unigarden Area) less than 5 minutes driving (unless you stack in a traffic jam). The university provide transportation for all these areas around it to serve students (To/From). Life is awesome in Kuching - Sarawak. One of the nature and less noisy city in Malaysia. I like the green nature which you can see everywhere. You can get variety of foods here in the University / Kuching, and the prices are relatively cheap. You can enjoy many activities that are held on campus

And as , any other places, there are some disadvantages :
1. You may not be comfortable with the (relatively) hot weather (25 - 32) Celsius degree.
2. Fewer international students compared to other cities, so in certain circumstances you may find yourself alone unless you have close local or international friends to stand with you.
3. Public transportations are not easy to access as Kuala Lumpur (Taxi and buses only) and its expensive.

FInally, if you want to study and relax, and be away from a busy cities and location meanwhile you have everything, this could be one of your choice destination.

The first university to be initiated as part of Wawasan 2020, located in Sarawak in the island of Borneo.
Studied here for more than 7 years, up and down, tears and laughter... A mixed sentimental swing. Overall, an emerging campus in Malaysia.

Awesome place, with awesome scenery. Facilities are acceptable with swimming pool, and many other sports facilities (stadium, badminton, tennis, football, basketball, gym, rugby, handball, etc). In campus hostel are not very good but private hostels are nearby are okay. Buildings are not very rain friendly though.

Would rate higher if I could. I owe everything to this place. Finished my 4 years of study here, and not only I achieved academic excellence; I also learned pretty much everything about life. Staffs overall are doing an excellent job. Involved in an accident once, inside the campus; the staffs in the health facility helped to arrange for a x-ray checkup at the GH, and they had someone who to and back from the GH. The library is awesome, it's my heaven on earth especially during study + exam weeks. I even had an outpost on the third level, where my friends and I would hunkered down and "study" pretty much the whole day. And of course, I can't forget the academic staffs. They are my "enemies", they are my friends.I will treasure every moment that I had for life.
