This place has seen its best days. Outside of the barber shop, I think it would be best to close it down.

It's closed. And there is no information anywhere about what happened to it or whether it will ever reopen.

I went in with my daughter & was not aware that it had become a place for evil acts. A very nice man on his way home from work to the Marta was our "good Samaritan" & helped us leave "before he had to call 911" that we would likely be mugged, killed or raped if we remained there. It is a shame that it is still open, especially online as a "mall with stores & restaurants." He also told me that even the Atlanta Police "won't go down there" & there is no security. I feel like saved our lives & I am very thankful God was watching out for us. I was innocently looking for somewhere close to the Fox to have dinner & shop & was in the wrong place at the wrong time. STAY AWAY!

Underground has gone down over the years. It looks like a ghost town.

Not well advertised that they are closed, what appears to be indefinitely.

Food was ok, tartar sauce was like water, straight nonsense. Take pride in what u do. even making condiments.

Nothing worth going here for. The few stores there mostly sell cheap imported junk.

Still closed and renovating maybe because of Covid. Homeless and poor just roaming the area. Not much to see.

The Masquerade always has the best concerts. Great venues, excellent security, and a well-stocked bar with good prices.

Bad what happened to Atlanta. I know the city from the nineties and had another memory. You should definitely do something here. Underground is scary. Lots of vacancy, a lot of dirt.

An empty shell of it's former glory, dark dank devoid of businesses. Great place to be robbed. Nothing worth seeing or doing there.

Right now Underground Atlanta is shut down. Our hotel was RIGHT beside the entrance. Hotel staff told us that they were renovating, updating and making the whole place over. They told us when it opens its going to be amazing. The place had literally died a slow death before they finally shut the doors. From what I heard it will open sometime in 2019. So I'll be excited to check it out when that happens.

I hadn't been to the Underground in many years. It looks terrible now. There were only about 5-6 stores still open. It was like a desert town.

A lot of the shops are now closed but good for a quick stop for gym shoes. The Foot Locker stays with the newest releases.

Underground Atlanta was mostly shut down for reconstruction when I visited! A local told me it would be awhile before it's all done. It looked like a cool place to hang out and I can't wait for all the construction to take place and see what they do with that space!

Very confusing finding my way in from the street. Apparently you have to enter through a parking garage.

Looks like a 3rd world country now. Was awesome when I was a kid.

We ate at "BigDaddys Southern Cuisine" where everything is cooked fresh daily. True southern hospitality by professional , kind, compassionate Black people. The service here is better than any staff in any restaurant we've gone too. It is not in the underground but worth the short walk.

To all those complaining about the homeless population: they would do better if they could. Jesus Christ did not complain about the poor but fed them and showed them God's love. Remember to show kindness to all of God's children.

Probably a low score is more for Google, since Google has shown that this place works, and it is closed. currently under reconstruction

Wasn't clean, only a few stores still open, and not many food options in the food court. The arcade section was nice, although some of the machines didn't work. It could be a great place if they were to fix it up again. Looks like a lot of history was made there.

Good place to visit before they tear it down. Store selection and food court are not bad

Went here to see Miyavi's Concert, LOVED it. Was my 1st visit there.

Meh. Really nothing special. It has potential, but it has the feel of a mall in its dying stages.

I've grown up in Atlanta and have witnessed first hand the decline of Underground Atlanta, unfortunately. When I would go with my family as a child, it was usually pretty busy with people of all types and backgrounds. It was fun, entertaining, and very much a part of historic Atlanta. A few years later, we visited and took some of my family from Mexico to visit, and we noticed it had gone downhill in terms of service and the type of crowd that hung around there.
Then, last year (2015) I brought one of my international friends there to visit, thinking it would be the same...I felt SO UNSAFE this time around! There were crowds of people just hanging around outside that were visibly high or on drugs, I felt threatened, and I felt that in general there were sketchy people just walking around, not to mention that the place (shops and restaurants) are no longer of any quality, in my opinion. Everything was just dead and the atmosphere was dark and depressing.
I'm normally a very positive person, but I don't recommend it in general. This is definitely not a "family outing" kind of place (kid friendly). It could have just been that one time that this happened, but based on the fact that I've been to Underground several times (and reading other people's experiences) I don't think I'm the only one who has felt threatened or unsafe.
With renovation and new owners, however, I'm confident the place can be revived again. It really does have cool history to it, but I don't think it's worth it for your safety.

VERY DANGEROUS! As another reviewer said 'Underground Atlanta is now a combination of a ghost town and a scene from "The Walking Dead".' So True! We felt like we were running for our lives from zombies(bums & thugs) without trying to tip them off we were scared. I usually love exploring different cities when we travel, but I will NOT be coming back to Atlanta.

OMG... this place should be filled in with "Fill Dirt"! This is nothing more than an UNDERGROUND SLUM ! Don't believe the images you see on Google... This place is disgusting at best! We were too afraid to stop to take current pictures... We just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.

Dark, Dingy & Dirty, with a bunch of really scary people just hanging out. We had a very bad feeling as soon as we went down the stairs.

Come on Atlanta! REALLY? You have got to be kidding me! Why does a place like this even exist in the state Capitol??!! Start filling the dump trucks... Burry this place ASAP.

Add this to your list of "What NOT TO DO while In Atlanta"!

They are currently remodeling. There were only 3 or 4 businesses open at the time of my visit.

Sad. Dismal. Post-apocalyptic.
Side halls, elevators, and stairwells smell heavily of urine.
Felt dangerous in a malingering way.

Kind of sad to see a former vibrant part of the community in such disrepair

The underground has lost it's touch.... I used to have fun shopping there.... And parting by night!!

It no longer exist - they should tell people that it's gone.

It's under reconstruction! Not a single sign mentioned that not even in the parking lot. We ended up paying the parking even though it was not operating, yet still on many websites as a "must see place"

Great place for concerts now that the mall has been shut down

** CLOSED - DO NOT GO HERE ** There is no "Underground" anymore. It was sold to a private developer. The Peach Drop is also not taking place here on New Year's Eve 2019.

That's just a ruin, most shops are closed. Good place for post apocalypse scene cosplay
