As a B level staff once working at UCSD for a while, I believe the whole system need nothing but complete overhaul that cut down all the unnecessary bureaucracy which cost a tons of time wasted.

The food places in UCSD are terrible terrible terrible. I felt sad for the students there.

Walking around University of California San Diego made it clear to me that it's a major STEM community where their are limitless possibilities for those studying engineering. Even then it's a beautiful campus with so much to do in the area.

The worst thing about this school is the fact that UCSD does not give back to the students.

If I had known what the experience would have been like when I was deciding colleges, I would have chosen a different university. This school is the worst at putting the students first. The school does not care for its students or student life and it heavily shows when you try to have a great experience for going to college. I would suggest any school but this one.

Random fees pop up in tuition that never seem to make it back to the students. La Jolla may look like a beautiful place to be, but it is very boring. There is no college life on campus, everything on campus literally seems dead. The only time there seems to be any life is on Triton Day when the prospective students come to check out the school. Don't get caught into that because the school is NEVER like that.

The dining here is terrible. Imagine getting a sliver of meat from Canyon Vista for 10 dollars or a tiny pasta bowl for 6 dollars that you can eat in two bites (doesn't even include sides.) . This school takes every opportunity it can to rip the money from its students, and it definitely shows.

And when I thought UCSD couldn't get more boring and terrible, the one event of the year called sun god has heavy restrictions on it so they sucked the fun out of that too.

If you consider coming here, just think about how much this place will ruin your young life and, although it is somewhat decent to get a degree here, there are much better options out there from a university that will treat YOU better. Don't make the same mistake I did. Do your research before deciding to come here.

Obviamente an excellent university. Beautiful location in the wealthy La Jolla, California. Some of the areas of the school are unkempt, hilariously, ironically but, then my poor old, bankrupt California is, after all, a desert.
Son is going there til he moves out to Wilmington North Carolina with us next year. Then he will attend UNC Wilmington - another excellent school also on the coast, the warm coast!

Great for CS Majors. They have interesting and challenging courses.

The best part are the easter eggs like programming competitions, talking trees, surfing classes, etc. It's all about your curiosity level.

I have a degree back home , and it has no value in the USA , however I was told I can t be a freshman here because I did study overseas . This is ridiculous! Specially I m willing to pay and be a good student since I need a degree valid in USA . Bad admission customer experience. Will never be back or advise it to anyone!

The university is among the top 50 universities in the world, among teachers there are Nobel Prize winners.

The university consists of 761 buildings, including a campus on the Pacific coast with its own beach.

I loved my undergrad and grad experiences at UCSD. Lived on campus all 5 years. Beautiful campus--I enjoyed walking through campus to class, even though it's hilly and some classes were quite a hike.

Nurses are wonderful and docs accessible. The new Jacob's hospital rooms are really nice. Updated TV iPad options are a welcome addition. Lots of time to fill. Netflix, Prime, Hulu, and YouTube accounts all accessible on iPad.. would be better on TV, but still...

Just a little bit flabbergasted right now...my daughter was accepted, received a scholarship, has her financial aid lined up. But after living in San Diego, CA. for 3 years and having attended Mesa during that time, just finishing up with her Associates in May, Dean's list, awarded residency in 2015, UCSD's Residency office has declared her a non-resident?!?!?! She has sent her apartment leases, taxes, W-2's, voter registration, utilities, etc. Now she has to appeal that ruling and only has one chance to prove them wrong!!! WHAT?!?!?! I am waiting for someone to tell me I am being PRANKED!!!!

Che Cafe and Scripps Institute are both two of my favorite parts of UCSD, however, if you have the chance to visit, find the talking trees and Dr. Seuss collection within the immaculate UCSD library. The campus is e-nor-mous, featuring some great art and a forest of eucalyptus. The Price center has every food you could ever want, even the beloved Zanzibar cafe. Be sure to check bus schedules or ride a bike, there is usually no parking during peak class hours on weekdays.

Went there for a campus tour. The tour guide was really boring and half the time I couldn't hear her. Half of the people in the group were already losing interest in the tour. I recommend that the tour guides be more social and interact with their group more.
