Horrible service. The Attorney I had screwed me. She made things worse for me. I would never recommend t his firm.

The attorney from this firm has emailed me saying that he is done communicating with me: RUN RUN RUN don't engage this firm.

The team from Udall & Shumway that recently represented me in a trial made errors from the beginning of my case, stating that if I prevailed in my court case that the plaintiff suing me would have to pay my lawyer fees.

Halfway through the process, I was informed that they were wrong and that in this type of case it would not be possible for the plaintiff to cover my lawyer fees.

This team will still not admit they were wrong when I asked them to reduce my fees! I was informed that I could take it to the State Bar and OF COURSE I would have to pay their fees if I lose.

I feel mislead, lied to, and disappointed in myself for believing that this lawyer and this firm would help me. Its a real shame that the very good name of Udall & Shumway is associated with these types of tactics.

I learned alot from this attorney, though. Here are the reasons that I would NEVER recommend this firm.

1. Bait & switch tactics with clients to get higher billable hours, then act like all along your client was fully informed.

2. Scream and yell and hang up during a settlement agreement will surely end up with more billable hours because if you can't settle, you got to show up at your court date, right? Lots more billable hours.

3. Shush your client when they want to talk to the Judge to ask him about the fees being paid by the losing party. Literally shush them. And then say, well, you won the case, right?

4. Ignore the very logical and reasonable request to get the fees reduced due to your incompetence and ill given advice.

Curtis Chipman and Pauline Dougherty have held my hand and helped me maneuver my way through a Grandparent guardianship and two trusts. I don't know what I would have done without them.

We had Charles Brown do some work for us. We paid a $1000 per request as a retainer. He did the work he promised. The quality of work was 100%. He wrote the letter very quickly. He sent the letter in, and after ignoring us for some time, the City of Tempe Police and the City of Avondale Police agreed with the position we had taken all along without him. But, with him, they changed their policy and agreed to our (correct) interpretation of the law.

So, quality was good, results were good, and pricing was good. Attorney's are never free, and a good part of that is the high cost of becoming one.

But, like the dentist sometimes you need to go. I got good results from Charlie Brown. I'm mentioning this because there were some negative reviews, and I have nothing negative to say about Mr. Brown or any of my other interactions with Udall Shumway other than that lawyers always strike me as expensive.

So, basically, I've been looking for a Tempe dui lawyer for awhile now. While they're not specifically in Tempe, their offices are close enough for me, and their attorneys are definitely top notch.

I've met with 3 other firms to date on this issue, and no one has helped me as much as the team here. Highly recommended, for sure!

They do a great job at spending your money. They don't do a good job at anything else. My lawyer was timid and completely unprepared. I switched lawyers after a lengthy legal battle that saw little movement, and am now back at square one with extensive debt.

Law is a tricky subject. It's always nice to be able to ask questions and not just ask them but get answers to those questions.

I drove in from Tempe (not very far away) because a friend of mine recommended them to me. Glad I did!

In full disclosure, I was not directly a client of this firm. My partner hired them for a post decree modification, and all that happened was we spent tens of thousands of dollars and ended up where we started. No progress would be made, yet we d get a monthly bill for several thousand dollars. In the actual trial, our lawyer was unprepared, disorganized, incompetent, and overall handled himself like a bumbling idiot. He blew the entire case. Don t waste your time or money, hire a firm that actually cares and will fight for you.
